I also find it hard to swallow.
I kind of believe this is Obi Wan’s doing, not Bails.
Remember that Obi Wan made the hologram of him warning the jedi not to return to the temple, and that it was sent out as a message across the galaxy after order 66 - pretty big risk on Obi Wan’s part, definetly takes away his ability to pass himself off as dead like Ahsoka does. There’s a pretty decent chance Ahsoka sees it at some point, and comes to realize that Obi Wan is survived and might still be out there, somewhere.
As for Obi Wan… he knows Anakin fell. He knows, if he contacted Ahsoka, if he reached out, if he ever saw her again, he knows the first thing she would ask - ehat happened to Anakin?
He can’t bear to tell her the answer. He wouldn’t be able to look at her without being reminded of Anakin. Luke and Leia are one thing; but Ahsoka knew Anakin. She would be looking for answers; for hope; and he would have to tell her not only that Anakin fell to the dark side, but also that he fought Anakin and left him to die on Mustafar. How would Ahsoka react to learning that? Would she be angry? Would she blame him? Would she even believe Obi Wan, without seeing it for herself? Their relationship was pretty strained before order 66; even though they both love each other - and Anakin - would their relationship reasonably survive the fall of the order, the fall of Anakin?
I love the disaster trio; but it was always a tragedy….. I think Ahsoka would have looked for Obi Wan, but I don’t think he would have given her an answer. I think it’s… fitting, that their relationship doesn’t survive everything they’ve been through. (Obi Wan doesn’t survive, really; every part of him Ahsoka knew pretty much died on Mustafar with Anakin - I don’t think you can have that, and have him reconnect with Ahsoka).
So does anyone else find it a little hard to swallow that Bail didn’t tell Ahsoka or Obi-Wan that the other was alive?
I mean, when Rebels came out, I could say to myself, “Well Obi-Wan is in hiding, he’s not leaving Tatooine, nobody can know where he is or what he’s doing, not even Ahsoka”
But now with the Obi-Wan show, we can see that Bail had no problem going to Tatooine to see Obi-Wan, had no problem contacting Obi-Wan, and Obes also left Tatooine (even going as core-ward as Alderaan).
So come on Bail, what gives?
