Hi there Sparrow, sorry it’s been a while, life has been busy. A question about AUs, since this is something I’m currently exploring:

If you were to create an Alternate Universe of your setting, what kind of setting would it be? What changes would you make for you characters to fit?

I'm currently writing an AU as well, actually. as a "character study"

Weirdly enough, I'm actually more attached to this version than the original. The setting is somewhat harsher, there's a deeper understanding of how the society functions in Arcadia. The hierarchies are clearer, the class divides are more obvious. Especially between the two main characters - Ari (who grew up fairly well off, but equally unloved) and Edward (who grew up in poverty, but in a community of people who looked after each other and worked together which ultimately ensured their survival). There's also more focus in this AU on rejuvenation and rebuilding society, looking after each other and sharing resources. Edward is also a massive plant nerd now, which is fun.

The setting itself is largely set in the organisation that Ari, Edward and April work for. Which is really letting me explore how it works and how everyone works together, what sort of things is done in that building and what is done externally. Who works for them and who works with them.

Not entirely answering the question, but it's the best I've got 🤣

agh this is kinda tough to answer because i would loveee to write what i like reading in fic but i'm afraid my abilities do not lend well to that more grounded, unpredictable & sucker-punch writing style (if that makes sense) that i can't get enough of! mine tends to be more light-hearted and dialogue-based

OOH some of the best advice i've got recently was to not write what you don't want to, especially in regard to transitional scenes. for me, this was realizing that i don't have to write the walk to the car and the drive to the hotel - i can just cut from the gig to the hotel room. as long as the break off points tell the journey, you don't have to draw every single movement out :')

What nicknames do they get called?

Mizuki's nickname is Zuki but im still considering making another for certain situations, similar to like fappymatsu or exculsivematsu. specifically a nickname theyd actually get embarassed or die over (comedically)

What is their love language?

Their love language is touch more than anything, words arent their strength lol. sometimes it'd be small things like just brushing their hand agaisnt someone else's or sometimes they fully embrace someone when theyre feeling violently affectionate. i also think they do acts of service and love spending quality time w those they love, often they'd do chores for the matsus or help their other friends out when they get time, they're always w somebody and while ive said its cause they dont like being lonely its also cause they just love the crap out of everyone.
