two VERY different flavours of men here.. 13. How does your Shep react to teasing/ribbing? Cycii is only ok with it if it’s from someone he’s close with. And this is only during ME3. He was extremely sensitive to any form of teasing. He saw it as criticisms someone was trying to hide. Trying to make it into something to laugh at. It made him uncomfortable, like everyone was watching him to make him into a joke. Already so sensitive to making anyone upset with him, he also wanted to be taken seriously. It’s only after the events of ME2 does he open up a bit to being able to handle it. After accepting that he will always be Cycii Durand, it was nice having close friends poke fun at him. They weren't doing it out of some want to be mean and make others point and laugh, it was just a form of play. Gentle pushing. He knows it’s not malicious when it comes from the right people. Spending house arrest around James also warmed him up to it. Being able to make comebacks and bounce off the jabs made it more welcome in conversation. Keren has mixed opinions. A lot of mixed opinions. On one hand, he loves doing it. He likes poking fun and making light jest out of something small. He likes making something that might be a small nuance into something funny. It lightens the mood. On the other hand, he’s worried he comes off as rude or inconsiderate given his tone of voice. His tone is flat, a lot of the time. He thinks he’s putting a lot of emotion in his voice, but to others he sounds the same as before. This used to help him, when he wanted to keep people away from him. When he tried to avoid forming any connections with people. But, he knows that if he dishes it out, he has to be able to take it. He rolls with it, but he does worry that some people don’t take him seriously. There’s always that worry that people don’t take him and who he is seriously and that people only get those feelings out by teasing him. Hoping he takes it as just a joke.  17. How does Shepard react to attention? Do they enjoy it? Cycii has a weird relationship to it. He loves it, but he hates it. He needs it, but he also hopes no one looks at him. It both drives him but makes him freeze. He needs people to see him. Proof that he is working, that he is pushing forward. That all his efforts are reaching the people and he does have and effect on others. But what if it’s the wrong effect? What if the people see his work and hate it? What if he’s wrong and he doesn’t know? The idea of his effort being put into the wrong thing and suddenly finding out via backlash is something that sends him to tears if he thinks about it for a moment. But he doesn’t want to be nothing. He doesn’t want to be a secret. His actions are his, and if they are good ones he wants the credit. He doesn’t like paparazzi, trying to twist his words into something sensationalised. He likes journalists who let him talk and explain and talk some more. Just so he can be completely clear. Gossip papers make him upset, most of the time. At least they’re sometimes funny. Keren is pretty neutral about it. Yes, getting tailed by morally corrupt paparazzi is one hell of a way to ruin a dinner, but using his fame to get a discount on said dinner? Pretty nice trade. For every bad thing that happens, like being slandered or having to deal with messages from news outlets who are hoping for his death so they can be the first to report it, there’s one good thing that happened. Like he gets a bill paid off or he’s able to inspire some kind of hope in people. He laughs at gossip papers in the morning, shares around magazine articles about him and his friends to laugh at. Making fun about how incorrect they are. Sometimes he has to get involved and contact news publications since yes, sometimes they do go a bit too far. It balances itself out, so he just lets it happen.  24. Who does Shepard turn to for advice? For comfort? Who do they like to gossip with  (i’m not using LI for this answer btw! but ofc they're on the list) Cycii turns to Samara the most often. She has a very rigid moral code that she doesn’t bend for anyone or anything. Something Cycii needed to see, something he needed to be around. He comes to her for advice. How does she do it? What does she do to handle regret? What does she push towards? She’s someone he looks up to, someone he has a familiar connection with. She likes being able to talk to him,to help him work towards being his best self. Shes told him that she hopes he succeeds,that she wants to see him live. Legion is someone he finds comfort in. They see things in such a different light, explain things in a different way. Listening to how Legion explains and talks about things is very calming for Cycii. Sometimes he asks Legion to just talk to him for a bit, and Legion always obliges. Miranda is another rock. She listens to him talk, letting him explain his issues and lets him figure out what he needs. Of course, she’s also good to gossip with. He gossips with people like Miranda, but also Jack, Joker and Kasumi. They have a lot to say and are up to date on a lot of dramas, both on and off the ship. They let him have that bit of fun he needs. To sit back and joke for a minute. Liara is someone he used to find a lot of comfort in, they both did, but as they grew they found each other better to jest with. They didn’t need to be sad and open with each other all the time anymore. They try to give each other joy more. Keren finds comfort in talking to Thane. Having someone who is a father admitting to making mistakes is comforting to hear, in a way. Keren hopes his own parents will one day apologise for some of the mistakes they made, so hearing Thane trying to correct his mistakes and acknowledging that he cannot fix everything but he can still try to heal what he can is soothing. He sees Thane as an almost father figure. He can still offer guidance and help Keren stay connected to spiritual aspects of himself in ways others just can’t, no fault to them. Him and Samantha bounce advice off of each other a lot, like a little self-help group that’s just them seeing what does and doesn’t work. Him and Jacob did a similar thing as well. They would joke, yes, but underneath it all they would be giving each other genuine compliments and advice. For gossip, he’d go to people like Garrus and Tali. They loved to talk about anything. People the other person would never know, things happening on the Normandy, something a gossip column said. Anything and everything was on the table for them. EDI was also a nice person to talk to. He helped her grow, and she helped him too.  40. Does your Shepard actually like to collect model ships? If not, what do they display? Cycii only likes certain models, so he has those on display. Rare, expensive Krogan frigate models, a Geth dreadnought, the original Normandy and an Asari fighter ship. He prefers collecting glasswork. He has some vases, two pieces of stained glass artwork on the walls of his quarters- he moves one to his new apartment, just so he can always have one around- and glass sculptures. There’s a set of cats, one black, one white and one orange. There a garden snail he uses as a paperweight, on the rare occasion he has paper. He likes to look at it while he works. There’s a lot of ocean themed ones, as well as a lot of ghost ones. Half are sheet ghosts, the other half are more serious interpretations of a spectre. Some are abstract, shapes and colours placed in his quarters so he has something to look at when he needs something nice to try and figure out. He never has. Keren is the proud owner of the Sovereign model ship and the Shadow Broker model ship and those are the only two he wants. He’s also collected a few pottery pieces, but he would rather make his own. The thing he’s most passionate about collecting is bugs. If he was a bit better in the sciences, he would have loved to be an entomologist. He loves hunting for it, for taxidermied insects. Having them framed in wooden frames behind clean glass with a little label. He adores them. His favourites are butterflies and praying mantis. He has a few scorpions and some beetles. There’s a set of bumble bees he feels really lucky to have gotten before anyone else did. He only has the bumble bees and the butterflies on display most of the time, knowing the other bugs get under peoples skin more. Still, it’s something he enjoys and he still shares it with people who aren’t uncomfortable having to look at his scorpion collection. Though, it did make Kasumi stop snooping through his drawers.
