1) Where in the Faerûn is your Tav from?

My boy is from the Dales … he + his clan used to live within the forests of it ! He does yearn to go back but he doesn’ t know if he is strong enough yet .. when he says he is Baldurian he is a LIAR

6) What companion are you platonically close with?

Trying so hard not to say all of them …. Hm …… I think he’ s the closest platonically with Lae’zel … they both saw each other at their lowest and still said “ I respect you . I will protect you . “ and I think that Lae’zel’ s ‘ crush ‘ was just her not really understanding the connection they were developing and panicking thinking it has to be … romance … right ? No . They just had a lot of mutual respect a the beginning that allowed them to be far more open and vulnerable with each other and they do bond over fist fights btw . They do end up disagreeing with each other on occasion but it never leaves a dark stain on their friendship . Lae’zel accepts that Giilvas is both a talented fighter and a smart man and also kinda a pompous idiot and Giilvas accepts that Lae’zel is a extremely skilled tactician and stronger than all of them in every way and also very quick to anger and quicker to bite the hand sometimes . They balance each other < 3

At the end of the day he is super close with everyone and he loves his friends so much

23) What do they do after the absolute crisis?

We Are Going To Avernus . He + Karlach + Wyll are going to Avernus . They are going Down There .

He already knew if they couldn’ t cure Karlach that he would be willing to help her down there , and he knew Wyll would be willing to come with them ( I like to imagine the post game Wyll scene when he says he has to kill Mizora happens earlier for them , so Giilvas knows they’ ll b going down there no matter what ) so when her engine is about to burst , it is a no brainer . For the first handful of years post crisis , he’ s still fighting tooth and NAIL all the time . He’ d adopted the way of living like that before , half the day fighting and the other half resting , so he doesn’ t really desire to quit once the brain is dealt with .

Eventually , they do all come back to Faerûn . Family reunions and all that . It does take a while for either him or Wyll to settle down , even after they get married , but I think once they both settle their personal scores they find it a bit easier to stomach the idea of just doing … nothing all day . Just lazing in the sun and holding hands and letting their rings knock against each other ….

30) What's your favorite thing about your Tav?

He’ s my beast … that’ s my favourite thing …

As a more serious answer , this question stumped me for a WHILE . My favourite thing is his everything ? But that seems like a cheap answer .

But I think my favourite thing about him is how he grows . Giilvas at the beginning of it all was a man half beaten into the dirt . He couldn’ t imagine saving anyone , and the idea of having to help others on a more personal level than just a one - time assistance was terrifying for him . He had to learn and relearn a LOT when he realized that everyone wasn’ t going to leave so soon .

That’ s honestly why he tried so many different things ti get rid of the tadpoles . Everyone would be gone sooner and he wouldn’ t have to carry more guilt if something happened .

Then , let us go to the end game . He has willingly gathered allies . He has friends that are more like family . He had does unthinkable things for everyone . He saved the world , essentially , and no one died doing it . He feels no shame for any mistakes he made along the way . He feels no fear over having people he cares for with him . He no longer blames himself for everything bad that happened to the people around him .

He is called the Golden Rose . And he learned how to take root and grow like one
