The reason the Crown doesn't remember how their parents died is because The Followers Of Vidarna somehow found a way to control the Crown, perhaps long enough to get them to kill their parents, but it backfired and the Crown was the reason everything was destroyed and aflame (because uncontrolled and unrealized power of the Sun goes haywire). Or that the death of the Crown's parents is somehow a consequence of their power and interference on the part of TFoV. Anyway, that type of trauma would end up Heavily Repressed, because idk how homeskillet would process that shit. Also, and perhaps this is much too far-fetched of a theory, what if ultimately TFoV don't want the Crown dead so much as they want to use the Crown as a weapon and the assassination attempts are to push the Crown into that blacked-out state again, and keep the Crown there long enough to kidnap them? They knew of the current Crown before the last Crown had even been assassinated, what if they wanted the Crown to come into their power (which would have ideally been after they were kidnapped, but they didn't succeed in that, obviously), so long as that power was TFoV's to wield? If they somehow knew that the current Crown would have power from a celestial source, which if I recall correctly, one of the Crowns had (idk if it was the one that caused the factioning off of TFoV)? The current Crown is some sort of resolution.
