My Hero Academia Endgame Ships
mysterylover123
Or Who I want to End up Together (even if they probably won’t).
Toshinko (All Might/Inko Midoriya)
Tumblr media
This is one that I want to end up together - but since All Might is slated to die before the series ends, we won’t get a happy ending. I still want at least some ship tease between them (and for Hisashi to be AFO. I need my Dad for One.)
Eraserjoke (Shota Aizawa/Emi Fukkokado)
Tumblr media
Now this one is kinda canon, one-sided on Emi’s part. But I do enjoy it; I like the opposites attract dynamic, and I want to see more of her. I could totally see this one happening, if the series felt like hooking Aizawa up.
Himikomura (Himiko Toga/Tomura Shigaraki)
Tumblr media
This one is, first, closer in age than I thought. They’re also growing rather close in recent chapters, with something of a teasing, potentially flirtatious vibe between them. I also like the idea of pairing together such extremes - the villain who hates everything and the villain powered by love.
Dabihawks
Tumblr media
Well this one I’m partially into because I’m also a Dabi=Toya theorist, and Endev seems to have this mentor relationship with Hawks. But their vibes together in that one scene are plenty enjoyable, and have the potential to be something really cool.
Miritama (MIrio Togata/Tamaki Amajiki )
Tumblr media
These two are absolutely right. Best friends who adore each other, one cheerful and confident, the other serious and insecure, the former gave the latter his hero name, they fight together as the big 3 of UA high…wait…why does this sound familiar…
Nejiyuyu (Nejire Hado/Yuyu Haya)
Tumblr media
This one I’m totally convinced is canon. Nejire loves lilies, the homophone for Yuri. Yuyu thinks Nejire is the cutest. They’re adorable together and should just come out as a couple already.
HatsuShin (Hitoshi Shinso/Mei Hatsume)
Tumblr media
I didn’t think of these two until I reread the Culture Fest arc and found Shinso calling Mei “Cool”. But I can totally see this one - suitably contrasting personalities, both aiming for their goals with everything they’ve got. Mei’s bravado and confidence could really benefit Shinso.
TetsuKendo  (Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu/Itsuka Kendo)
Tumblr media
Will ship this till the end of time. There are so many TetsuKendo moments - subtle but omnipresent. The Big stars of Class 1B, “I like that side of you”, Tetsu’s admiration for her…I’m half convinced they’re already canon.
Tojiro (Mashirao Ojiro/Toru Hagakure)
Tumblr media
These two are somewhat minor, but tend to hang out and get along in general. She’s encouraging towards him in the Sports Fest, he’s encouraging towards her post USJ. They’re often seen chilling together, and I could see it happening.
Tsukoyami (Tsuyu Asui/Fumikage Tokoyami )
Tumblr media
While I enjoy Tsu’s friendship with Ochako, I’m also fond of her team ups with Tokoyami. They’ve worked together twice and done very well both times; her bunt personality seems like it could work well with his distant and evasive one.
Kamijiro (Kyoka Jiro/Denki Kaminari)
Tumblr media
I love their dynamic. They’re funny, teasing, mildly antagonistic but ultimately care for each other. Kaminari is very supportive of her hobbies and often compliments her, Jiro finds him funny and often pushes him to do better.
Kirimina (Mina Ashido/Eijiro Kirishima )
Tumblr media
My heart and soul to this ship. Horn buddies! Mina being the embodiment of “manliness”! Mina worrying about Kirishima, who thinks she’s cool and awesome. Lots of great scenes of friendship between these two. I can’t picture either one with anyone else.
Todomomo (Shoto Todoroki/Momo Yaoyorozu)
Tumblr media
Todoroki thought Momo was the best class rep even back when he was seething in anger. She helped him become a better team player. He respects her and she him. He helped her get her confidence back. They’re just so mutually good for each other.
Iichako (Tenya Iida/Ochako Uraraka)
Tumblr media
Ah, the unexpected ship! But seriously, could you see Iida with anyone else? He applauds her decision to support her family. She finds him funny and cool and admires his dedication. They get along great as friends, and the idea of them was suggested by Mina in the show. I really like these two and think they’re underrated.
Katsudeku (Izuku Midoriya/Katsuki Bakugo)
Tumblr media
Every damn time I try and justify pairing one of these two off with someone else in my head, it just doesn’t fly. Who else would Deku tell about OFA? Who else would Bakugo cry in front of and pour his heart out too? Who else would inspire each other to be the best heroes who win and rescue? They’re just too tied into each other to not end up together - and though I’m doubtful that they will because of heteronormativity, they will undoubtably be the greatest allies together. So I’m pretty secure.  BKDK will become friends again, the ultimate rival fighting duo who save to win/win to save.

Project Homeward Bound
I did it. I did it and I have no regrets so far.
Before we begin I’d like to say a few things.
At first this was going to be a no quirk au, then a no ua au, and then I realized that I’m the one who controls the canon here and I can do what I want so I plucked certain parts of the timeline and meshed them together with some popular head canons mixed in. Anyway
Chapter 1- Are We Sure This Is A Good Idea
---
The two hero courses, along with Hitoshi, are seated together in front of the big three. They just finished training.
“You guys did great out there!” Nejire says to the classes.
It’s the last day before a break. They’ll all be going home soon so they’ve been training all week.
Yosetsu sits down next to Momo. “You did really well today.”
“You too!” She gives a big smile.
“Uh- thanks.”
Neito has been laughing hysterically since the last battle ended.
“Not all high and mighty now, huh?!”
“Monoma.” Sen says.
“Your reign in the spotlight will soon come to an end!”
“Monoma.” Nirengeki looks tired.
“It’s finally-”
“Monoma!” Itsuka grabs him by the back of the neck.
Now that it’s quiet, they can hear heavy footsteps coming closer.
“Heeey!” It’s Mei, with something in her hands.
“Hatsume?” Izuku asks. “What are you doing here?”
“I found something really cool that can help me with my babies but I need someone else to get it to work!”
“Her what?” Mirio asks.
“That's what she calls her inventions.” Tenya informs them. “So what is it?”
She holds out what she has as if for one of them to read, but they’re a little too far. They can see that it looks like a video game box.
Setsuna’s severed hand plucks it out of hers to read it. “Let’s see… a grand experience where the only limit is your imagination. Create items, explore vast worlds and save the day…”
“That sounds cool!” Denki says, leaning forward.
“But how will that help your inventions?” Ochako asks.
“Don’t you see? Limitless possibilities! If I can manage to make something good in the game I can recreate it and use it’s properties to help my babies!”
“Do you really have to keep calling them that?” Hitoshi mumbles.
“Why do you need help with it?” Manga asks, a question mark on his bubble.
“It’s multiplayer and- okay-” She opens the box and removes two cases. “It needs at least two people to do it and no one in class wants to do it so I thought I’d ask my greatest model.” She looks at Tenya, who does not look excited with the game or the title.
“So it comes with enough discs to be properly played?” Hanta asks.
“Yes and no, you need both of them to play properly but it’s like a pair, they’re a part of the same game but they do different things. You’d need a different set.”
“Then how the hell is anyone else supposed to play the damn thing?” Katsuki leans back with a grimace.
“Oh I’ve got a whole crate of ‘em!” That got their attention.
“How’d you afford that?!” Ochako asks in shock.
“And where did you find them?” Pony inspects the box. “I haven’t seen this in any stores or even online.”
“It was shipped to the support class with some of our equipment. No one knows where it came from and no one else wanted them so I thought I’d take a look.”
“No one?”
“Yeah, they said it looks boring.” And honestly? They aren’t wrong. There isn’t any picture of gameplay on the back and the only art on it is what seems to be a sky with clouds and a green kaleidoscope circle. It’s also labeled “Sburb”.
“Then why do you want it?” Toru asks.
“I already told you!” She inspects the box more. “And even if that doesn’t work I can find some sort of use for them. They will help me improve my babies. One way or another.”
“How many do you have?” Mirio joins the group to look at the box.
“There’s about 50 of ‘em.”
“I have an idea!” Nejire  perks up. “Let’s all play it together!”
“...why?” Togaru asks, looking at it. It looks like it’s full of malware and at least a hundred viruses.
“It could be a good bonding experience!”
“No fuckin’ way.” Katsuki shoots down the idea.
“What about a competition?” Denki suggests.
“Still no.”
“Aw what’s wrong? Is 1a afraid they’ll lose?” Neito mocks.
“He doesn’t speak for all of us…” Mashirao says quietly.
Katsuki slowly turns to Neito. “The hell you say?”
“Well… even a competition can be a bonding experience.” Nejire tells herself, watching her plan slowly crumble.
“That’s a great idea!” Itsuka claps her hands together. “Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe I’m speaking for all of 1b when I say we’re in!”
“Our class shall participate as well!” Tenya declares.
“Do we not get a say?” Rikido asks.
“We shouldn’t turn down the opportunity to train no matter what the training is.”
“So it’ll be class against class?” Mezo asks.
“Seems like it!”
“Then what about me and Hatsume?” Hitoshi asks.
“You two could be a part of one of the class groups.”
“I call 1a!” Mei declares. “What would be the point if I don’t have my best model?”
“So I’m with 1b then.”
“Welcome to the winning class!” Neito wraps an arm around him.
“I’m gonna mop the fuckin’ floor with you!” Katsuki yells.
“You sure are fired up.” Eijiro comments.
“Could we be the refs?” Mirio looks up.
“Sounds good!” Momo says.
“We could also be there to help you guys out!” Nejire says with a big smile.
“Class B doesn’t need help from any A class students!” Neito says.
“Then we’ll split up by class too!” Mirio says.
“But Amajiki and I are both…” Said boy broods nearby.
“I don’t wanna…”
“Right! Then I’ll help class 1a and we’ll call on you if we need a tie breaker!”
Tamaki shuffles a little. It’s a big job. If he makes a wrong choice it’ll be all his fault. If he chooses one the other will hate him. He can’t-
“Amajiki?” Nejire and Mirio come to comfort him.
“It’s okay! I’m sure it’ll be a great time!” Mirio pats his back.
“Right, okay, if you’re sure.”
“Then it’s decided!” Nejire claps her hands together. “Let’s go get the other copies.”
They all walk to the support class, all 45 of them, to get their own copies of the game. They have no idea what they’re getting themselves into. All 45 of them. Together.

BNHA Characters As Welcome To Nightvale Quotes
Because I can. Also because I have a lot of these and I wanted to use them somewhere.
Kyoka Jirou: “How presumptive of teens to think they'll even be allowed to live once.”
(Bonus for Kyoka: “And sure enough, Michelle Nguyen, pizza in hand, is cackling madly watching the chaos and listening intently to headphones that are plugged into nothing at all.”)
Izuku Midoriya: “Mostly we don’t get destroyed… Mostly we destroy ourselves.”
Ochaco Uraraka: “The laws of physics? What are you, a narc?”
Shouto Todoroki: “Of course the sandstorm was created by the government! The City Council announced that this morning. The government makes no secret that they can control the weather and earthquakes and monitor thoughts and activities. That's the stuff a big government is supposed to do.”
(Bonus for Shouto: “You figure it out. You learn from it. You take action. You create the meaning. It is all up to you.”)
Katsuki Bakugou: “If at first you don't succeed, look around and find out who is trying to sabotage you with telepathic interference. It is someone you know.“
(bonus for my AU, Katsuki Hakamata:
“The past is gone, and cannot harm you any more. And while the future is fast coming for you, it always flinches first, and settles in as the gentle present.”)
All-Might: “Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not. We never are. But that’s not the right question. The question is are we living a life that is worth the harm?”
Nezu: “But listen: it's probably nothing. If we had to shut down for every mysterious event that at least one death could be attributed to, we'd never have time to do anything, right?”
Shouta Aizawa: “Confused? At a loss for what to do? Wow, sounds like you're human. Good luck.”
(Bonus for Aizawa: “When life seems dangerous and unmanageable, just remember that it is and that you can’t survive forever.“)
Present Mic: “And now a brief public service announcement. Alligators: can they kill your children? Yes.”
Shinsou: “Ghosts are scary because they indicate we might be forced to exist for eternity after we die.”
Eri: “As long as I’m reminding myself of things, I’m a good person, worthy of love – both from myself and others.”
Mina Ashido: “Hey, watch us moon! We may not always be the best show in the universe, but we try.“
Tsuyu Asui: “There is no cause for concern. We're way past that now. If you're not at least feeling mild terror then you haven't been paying attention.”
Eijirou Kirishima: “As a city, it is our responsibility to protect life, yes, but also protect a life worth living.”
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu: “Stay tuned next for an exact word-for-word repeat of this broadcast, that will seem to you imperceptibly but unshakably different, although you will never be able to explain why.”
Hanta Sero: “WOULD YOU RATHER: discover a spider in your salad OR never have discovered that spider that was in your salad?”
Denki Kaminari: “Ignorance may not actually be bliss, but it certainly is less work.”
Momo Yaoyorozu: “If you could press a button that would give you a great deal of money, but it would cause someone you don’t know in a distant part of the world to die, then you would have a good model for how our current economy works.”
Fumikage Tokoyami: “ Look. Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No. It's just the void. Infinite and indifferent. We're so small. So very very small.”
Tenya Iida: “There's a difference between you're, your, and yarn. Yarn isn't even pronounced the same way. It's a completely different word.“
Ibara Shiozaki: “We have nothing to fear except ourselves. We are unholy, awful people.”
Neito Monoma: “Be proud of your place in the cosmos. It is small, and yet, it is.”
Mirio Togata: “Everything is exciting! Particularly existence. Existence is the most thrilling fact of all.”
Nejire Hado: "You can tell us your secrets. I mean, you absolutely shouldn't. We'll use them against you. But you can."
Tamaki Amajiki: “Fear is a reasonable response to life.”
Mei Hatsume: “Also, I lit your fridge on fire. It was upsetting me.”
Best Jeanist: “Michelle Nguyen is the only one who doesn’t look scared. This is her favorite holiday, and she is wearing a vintage summoning cloak and a dog catcher’s cap, and has two tiny neon signs attached to her face indicating her eyes. She is the most fashionable person in town, and certain to be spared from the sphere. “
Hawks: “We lead frantic lives. Filled with needs and responsibilities, but completely devoid of any actual purpose. I say let's try to enjoy the simple things. Life should be like a basket of chicken wings: salty, full of fat and vinegar, and surrounded by celery you'll never actually eat, even when you're greedily sopping up the last viscous streaks of buffalo sauce from the wax paper with your spit-stained index finger. Yes, that is as life should be, Night Vale.”
Tomura Shigaraki: “ I don’t know, somewhere! Wasn’t being specific. Wasn’t actually suggesting making the world a better place. Was just using theoretical human suffering as a deflection.”
(Bonus for Tomura: “Ripeness is perfection, and perfection is the step before decay.”)
Dabi: “The last thing I want to do is hurt you. And after that, the to-do list is complete and I can go home and watch TV.”
Touya is Dabi Addition: “Only you can prevent your own house mysteriously catching on fire.“
Himiko Toga: “You have nice skin. It really holds in all your blood and organs - no leaking or nothing. You look great.”
Twice: “Let’s not dwell on our corpse strewn past. Let’s celebrate our corpse strewn future!”
Moonfish: “Stay tuned next for the sound of some helpless thing being eaten.”

Their Hero Academia - Interlude 2: Heroes and Villains
The next installment of my on-going, next gen, My Hero Academia fan fic “Their Hero Academia”, raw and unedited.
This interlude is actually in two parts, for easy readability.  Several of the work study pairs as well as portions of the dialog were suggested by @msalliepants
Chapters 0-24, plus the first interlude, can be found here
Their Hero Academia – Interlude 2: Heroes and Villains
Part 1: Heroes
Izuku Midoriya thanked the hostess who had shown him to the restaurant’s back room and looked upon some of his best friends in all the world.  They didn’t get to all see each other as much as they liked anymore, not since so many of them were so busy with their careers as Pro Heroes, but they liked to get together when they could.  At least he got to see Kacchan and Eijiro on a regular basis, since they actually lived next door to each other, with Denki and Kyoka on the other side, in a gated community that catered to Pro Heroes.  Tetsutetsu and Itsuka actually lived across the street, as did Monoma and his wife.
Momo had actually bought the restaurant many years ago so that they could get together when they wanted with some modicum of privacy.  Considering they counted among their number a very large number of Heroes in the Top Ten, it was a necessary precaution.
“Deku!” And there was the voice that could brighten his world immediately, his wife of twenty years, Ochako.  She leapt up from her chair next to Tsuyu and ran over to him, wrapping him in a hug that he gladly returned, followed by a kiss.   Behind them, he could hear Denki and Minoru hooting and hollering, but he ignored them.
“Hey you,” he said. “You get the kids dropped off at Mom and Dad’s okay?”
Ochako smiled. “Yeah.  Hana’s being moody about the whole thing, but Mako’s just happy to be seeing her Grandpa Might.”
Not surprising.  At almost thirteen and with no interesting in turning Pro Hero herself, Hana was a typical teenager.  At five, Mako was perfectly happy to be her Grandpa Might’s “sidekick.”  So long as she wasn’t setting things on fire with her Fire Breath Quirk, anyway.
They’d come a long way from a classes of teenagers thrown into the deep end of the Hero pool.  Now they were adults with careers and families of their own.  They all had children, many of them more than one.  A lot of potential little Heroes, as Dad liked to say.
“Good,” he said, as he took her hand in his and joined their friends at the long table.  There were thirty-three of them all together.   Himself and Ochako, Tsuyu and Fumikage, Tenya and Mei, Denki and Kyoka, Momo and Shoto, Kacchan and Eijiro, Mezo and Haruko, Hitoshi and Camie, Hanta and Mina, Mashirao and Toru, Koji and Ibara, Minoru and Pony, Yuga and Haru, and Rikido; they were also joined tonight by Itsuka and Tetsutetsu, Kota and Eri, and Mirio and Melissa.  It made it a little hard to have a conversation, but they managed. Most of them had been through hell together and that had forged bonds that nothing would ever break.
For his part, he spent some time talking to Mirio and Melissa, gushing over how well their eldest, Tamaki, was doing as one of his sidekicks.  Considering both he and Mirio operated together out of Might Tower (an extraordinary graduation gift from Dad), and Melissa ran their Support division, it was probably unnecessary, but he couldn’t help but share what he felt.
Around him, the others were engaged in conversations of their own, interrupted only briefly by the wait-staff arriving to take their orders.  Ochako and Tsu exchanged parenting tips, Mei and Melissa were lost in some technical discussion he couldn’t follow at all, Haru and Haruko were talking as the always did, of the troubles of being a non-Hero spouse. Eijiro and Tetsutetsu were proudly sharing pictures of their youngest to anyone who would listen, while Kacchan looked more and more exasperated by his husband’s antics by the minute.  Mina was teasing Tenya about being future in-laws. And he was fairly certain he heard Mina telling Toru that she was pregnant again.
Finally, after the food had been brought and they eaten, Izuku clinked on his glass with his spoon to get everyone’s attention.
“Okay,” he said.  “As nice as this has been—really great to see everyone again—we actually do have a real reason for getting together tonight. As you know…”
“Oi, Deku!” Kacchan shouted, giving him an annoyed look.  “Nobody says “as you know!”  We all get it, the Sports’ Festival’s coming up in a couple weeks!”
Izuku moved on, not letting that stop him.  “Well… yeah,” he said.  “That. Anyway, we all know it’s coming up. And while I’m hoping all of our kids do well enough to get a lot of offers…”
“YEAH!” Eijiro interrupted. “My Katsumi’s gonna kick so much ass! You’ll all get to see how awesome she is!”
“Shit down, Shitty Hair,” Kacchan said, yanking him back down in his seat.
“Sorry, Izuku, Bakubabe!” Eijiro said.  “Got carried away.”
Izuku waved it off. “It’s fine, it’s fine.  But like I was saying, we’ve talked about it before, but we want to make sure all the kids have offers.  I know some of us can remember how bad it felt not to have any.”
Around the table, several of his friends and former classmates nodded.
“Just remember to keep an eye out for General Studies kids too,” Hitoshi said.  “U.A.’s gotten better about getting people into the Hero Course, but there’s still a lot of them slipping through the cracks.”
“Not that being in General Studies is bad,” Haruko said, from her spot next to Mezo.  “But we were all proud of you for making it, Hitoshi.”
Hitoshi gave her a polite nod in return.  “Lots of hard work,” he said.  “You could have made it too, you know.”
She shook her head. “I was never cut out for it. Besides, one Hero in the family is enough for me.”
“Anyway,” Izuku said, “I got an e-mail from Aizwa this morning and it basically said that if any of us even thought about taking our own kids for Work Study week, he would track us down and beat the stuffing out of us.”
Minoru let out a terrified shriek, clinging to Pony at the very thought.
On the other hand, Eri and Hitoshi both let out a laugh.   “Sorry,” Eri said.  “But that’s just such a Dad thing to say.”
“You really can’t see how frightening he is, can you, babe?” Kota asked.
“He’s really a softie,” she replied.  Kota gave her a look that suggested she’d gone mad, but didn’t belabor the point. All things considered, Izuku didn’t blame him.  He still considered Aizawa to be one of the scariest people alive and he’d taken on some incredibly frightening Villains in his career.
“He still means it though,” Hitoshi said.  “But he’s softened in his age if he’s giving us a warning.”
“Wait,” Denki piped in. “So that means…”
He trailed off and Kyoka buried her head in her hands.  “Take your time, Idiot.”
Denki have this some thought for a moment, before shaking his head.  “Nope, I got nothing.”
“I assume you’re suggesting there’s nothing preventing us from extending offers to each other’s children, Izuku?” Momo asked.
Izuku nodded.  “Right, Momo.  So I thought maybe we could work it out ahead of time.”
“I must object!” Tenya said. “Surely, this premeditated behavior is unbecoming of Pro Heroes such as ourselves, not to mention unfair to the sportsmanship of U.A!”
“Oh, relax, Tenya,” Ochako told him, looking mildly annoyed.  Izuku could understand it.  Tenya actually had relaxed some since they were in school, but could still be a stick in the mud most of the time.  “We’re not depriving the kids of any offers.  We’re just making sure they all have one if they want it.  And we can scout more than one student if we see someone else who really catches our eye.”
Tenya grumbled a reluctant agreement.
“Nejire and Tamaki let me know they want to be involved too, if they can,” Mirio said.  He’d known in advance, of course, since Izuku and Ochako had discussed it with him.
“A good plan,” Shoto agreed. “But who gets whose kid?”
“I was getting to that, thanks, Shoto,” Izuku said.
“Well, hurry it up, Deku!” Kacchan snapped.  “Some of us haven’t got all night!”
“Funny you should mention that, fam,” Camie said.  “Hitoshi and I were talking, and we think it’d be mad lit if you’d take Shota.”
Kacchan’s eyes went a little wide as he fixed the two of them were a glare.  “And what makes you think I’d wanna take the little loudmouth?”
Hitoshi was unfazed by Kacchan’s glare.  “Shota has a Quirk that is both unique and powerful.  But he is prone to distraction and sometimes lacks discipline.  You should be able to provide some instruction on the first and temper the latter.”
After a moment of sustained eye contact, Kacchan backed down.  He waved a dismissive hand in the air.  “All right, but you owe me big for this, Sleepy.  Your kid never shuts up.”
Hitoshi simply shrugged in reply.
“He gets his mad gift of gab from me, fam,” Camie said, proudly.
Izuku decided it was best to simply move on.  “All right, that’s one down.  Before we start digging into everyone, I, ah, I think it’s probably best that we deal with the “difficult” children first.”
“Difficult children?” Mina asked.  “We don’t have any difficult children!”
Well, this was going to be awkward.  But Izuku pressed on.  He coughed, awkwardly clearing his throat.  “Mika, Chihiro, Takuma, Katsumi, and the Twins.”
Predictably, the room exploded.
“How dare you accuse my little princess!” Minoru shouted.
“Minny…” Pony said, trying to calm him down.
“What’s wrong with Chihiro?” Denki demanded.
“She’s got your genes,” Kyoka told him, rolling her eyes.
“What the hell, Izuku?!” Mina shouted.  “I thought we were friends!”
“Your kid’s always getting Kenta into trouble, Mina,” Rikido said, crossing his arms.  Hanta just looked awkwardly between his friend and his wife.
“I am hurt by these unmanly accusations!” Eijiro cried out.
“Deku, you take that back, damn you!” Kacchan roared.
“What did you say about my babies?!” Mei screamed.
“Excuse me,” Tenya shouted, arms flailing through the air.  “My children are not difficult!”
The room went quiet for a minute, before everyone turned to state at him.
“They are a handful,” Tenya added, pushing his glasses up.  “There is a difference.”
Eyes returned to Izuku and he swallowed nervously.  He’d rather have been facing a room full of super-villains.  “We all know what I’m talking about,” he said after a moment. “We all love our kids, they’re all great kids.  But some of them need a little more guidance or a little firmer a hander than others. That’s it.  Maybe difficult wasn’t the best word, but… still…”
Fortunately, things settled after that.
“I’d be happy to take Chihiro,” Momo said.  “Kyoka and I have been talking with Eri already.  It will be a good opportunity to begin preliminary plans for Support equipment she can use.”
“Thanks, Momoyao,” Kyoka said, clearly relieved.  “Just remind her she’s got my genes too, okay?  Don’t let her do too many stupid things like my Idiot here.”
“When have I ever done anything stupid?” Denki asked, looking slightly hurt.
“You really don’t want me to answer that question.”
Minoru stretched a hand into the air.  “Oh! Oh!  Tsu!  You should take my little girl!  You’ve got an all-female crew, right?  No boys to get her in any trouble?”
“Minny, you know Mika doesn’t just like boys,” Pony corrected him.
He pressed on anyway. “Boys her age are nothing but trouble. Should have sent her to an all-girls school.”
Fortunately, Tsuyu didn’t’ focus on that part.  She put a finger to the side of her mouth.  “I’d love to whip her into shape,” she said, “but she can’t swim, *kero*.” Tsuyu had taken over from Captain Selkie many years ago and primarily patrolled the waters of Japan.  She was good at it too, good enough to have become the Number Nine Hero.  That she was popular with children and adults didn’t hurt.
“However,” Momo said, “she could use someone responsible and disciplined.”
Several pairs of eyes fell on Tenya.   Shock crossed his face at first, but was then replaced by his usual look of determination.  “Very well,” he said.  “I shall do my best to instill in her the proper values of a future Pro-Hero and UA student.”
“I can take Tensei,” Mezo volunteers.  “Your son is… excitable, Tenya, but skilled.  I can teach him how to observe and think.”
“And I can take Sora,” Mashirao adds.  “Mezo and I both have a pretty back to basics approach that’ll do the Twins some good.”
Mei waved a hand in their direction.  “Oh, sure, if you wanna be boring about it!”
Tenya was calmer, giving them both a polite nod.  “Thank you both,” he said.  “I apologize in advance for any trouble they may cause you.”
“Okay, we’ve got the Terror-Twins sorted out,’ Mina said.  “Can we go back to the part where you think Takuma is difficult?  Because that’s clearly wrong.  He’s just building his brand!”
“He’s a bad influence,” Rikido said again.
“They’re just kids,” Toru said.  “And they’re having fun!”
“How can you say that, Rikido?  After everything I’ve done for you?”
“He lacks discipline,” Fumikage said, cutting through the arguing.  “I can correct that.”
Mina blew air out through her lips and Izuku was certain he was going to have to intervene. “Fiiine,” she wailed.  “But I don’t see what need fixing.”
No one was going to touch that point.  That Mina was a terrible disciplinarian who let her children run all over her was well known.  Hanta wasn’t much better, but he did try to keep things under control.
“Maybe if you didn’t have so many kids, Raccoon Eyes,” Kacchan sneered, “you could keep your eyes on this one.”
“Oh, come off it, Katsuki!”
Hanta placed a restraining hand on her arm.  “Honey, it’s not good for you to get stressed…  It’s not good for the babies.”
“Babies?” Eijiro asked, grinning.  “Are you pregnant again, Mina?  That’s fantastic!”
“Aren’t you a little o…” Denki began, but a sharp glare from Mina stopped him from completing that thought. It a rare show of life-preserving sense, he stopped talking.
“Yeah,” Mina said. “Twins this time.  Last kids, I promise.  I just can’t keep Hanta off me! Of course, it’s pretty hard to resist, with how big his…”  Next to her, Hanta turned several shades of red.
Izuku didn’t know how Mina and Hanta did it.  His and Ochako’s three were enough of a handful.  They had five kids already, and now two more?  He grinned, though.  “I guess congratulations are in order, then!”   Various congratulations went out from the other members of their group, except for Kacchan.
“There’s still time for you to get back in the contest, Tsu!” Mina said.
“What contest?” Tsuyu asked.
“The kids contest!”  It was true, after Mina and Hanta, Tsuyu and Fumikage had the most kids.
“That’s not a contest,” Tsuyu said.
“Said the loser.”
That got a few laughs from the group, before they moved on.
“Anyway,” Mina said, “I wanna take Asuka.  She could use a chance to loosen up.”
“Ah,” Hanta said. “You’re going off active duty before the Sports Festival, hon.”
“Aw, dammit!” Mina said. “I forgot!”
“I’ll take her!” Toru piped in.  Izuku assumed she was waving her arms excitedly, judging by how the straps of her dress were moving, but he couldn’t be certain.  “We’ll make it a girls’ week!”
“And teach her something, *kero*,” Tsuyu said.
“Yeah, that too!”
“Perhaps I should take Kimiko?” Yuga asked, one hand on his chest, staring slightly off to the side as he often did, as though looking into some invisible camera.  “The unseen could use a few tricks about visibility and standing out.”
“I’m going to have to pull rank on this one,” Eri interrupted.  “Kimiko’s expressed some interest in continuing her medical education and I’m do for some field work during that week anyway.  I think it might be good for her to see what it’s like out there.”
“Who am I to refuse such a lovely lady’s request,” Yuga said, bowing slightly in his seat.
“Let me know if you’ll be at my hospital,” his husband, Haru, said.  “I can probably arrange a few things if you can’t.”
“Of course, thanks,” Eri said.
“And thank you, Eri,” Mashirao said.  “Kimiko seems really excited about this.  I think she’s found her calling.”
Eri smiled.  “Just happy I could help.”
“I want to take Katsumi,” Ochako said.
“You do?  What’s your angle here, Round Face?” Kacchan asked. “She’s no Rescue Hero.”
“That’s not all I do,” she said.  “Besides… I think a little Gunhead-style martial arts instruction will really help her focus.”
“It is a manly art,” Eijiro said, rubbing his chin.  “I like it!  Thanks, Ochako!”
Kacchan crossed his arms and scowled.  “Fine. But no going easy on her!”
Ochako made her meanest face back at him.  Which looked more ridiculous than scary.  Izuku had to turn away to keep from laughing, which would have gone very badly for him.
“Okay,” Izuku said, “moving on…”
“I’m taking Toshi,” Mirio said.  “I already called this when he was born.  You’re not taking that from me.  I’ll fight you.”
“No you won’t,” Melissa told him.
“No I won’t,” he agreed. “But I am calling Toshi.”
“So instead of his dad, he gets somebody just like him.  Great.” Kacchan rolled his eyes again.  But he didn’t argue the point.  Mirio was good at what he did.  Izuku was well aware he’d set the bar as the Number One Hero incredibly high… and Mirio still found occasion to surpass him in the Rankings. Little wonder that Dad had once considered him a possible successor.
“Oh yeah,” Mirio said, grinning.  “Tamaki said he’s take Kenta.  Figures he could teach him a few things with an eating-based power.”
Rikido nodded thoughtfully. “That’d work.  Kenta’s working hard, but I know he’s struggling to find ways to make his Quirk work well.  Tell him thanks.”
Mirio tossed off a little salute.  “Will do.”
“I’ll take Daisuke,” Tetsutetsu said.  He flexed and let out a shout.  “It’ll be a manly week!”
Itsuka patted his bicep. “Inside voice, please.”
“Sorry, babe.  Got excited.”
That seemed satisfied to Mezo, who gave a simple nod.
“And who wants my darling boy?” Aoyama asked.
Hanta cracked his knuckles noisily.  “I can do it. He might benefit from a down-to-Earth point of view.”
Aoyama turned to Hanta, who was wearing cargo-shorts, with sandals and socks.  He looked like he was turning a little green.  But Haru leaned close and whispered something in his ear and some of the tension seemed to leave him.
“Oh, very well.  A little worldly experience will do him good.”
“What about Izumi?” Shoto asked.
Momo frowned.  “I’m afraid to admit, I’m a bit concerned… but she also hasn’t had any health or Quirk-related concerns since the one outburst.  Her doctors have given her a clean bill of health to continue.”
“I can do it.”
If he’d had a chance to bet everything he had on this, Izuku never would have expected that it would have been Denki who had spoken up.
“You?” Kyoka said, making the word almost an accusation.
“She’s gotta be careful not to overdue her Quirk.  I can help with that.”
“He… has a point, Kyoka,” Momo said, after a moment.  She turned to Shoto, who nodded.  “Please take good care of her, Denki.  We nearly lost her once, I don’t know what we’d do if anything happened again.”
Denki gave the both of them a thumbs’ up.  “You know it!”
“Can Akaya swim?” Tsuyu asked Koji and Ibara.
She can, Koji signed.  Surprisingly well.
“She takes well to the water,” Ibara agreed.
“Then I can take her,” Tsuyu said.  “I can teach her about water planets and how to use her Quirk in a different environment.”
“What about you, Izuku?” Mirio asked.  “Isn’t that everyone? Going to hold off judgement until the big day?”
It was well known in the Hero community that Izuku always picked at least one, sometimes two students for Work Study after the Sports Festival.  He understood that the gambling halls spent considerable time and effort trying to figure out who he might pick, updating their odds until the very last minute. But no one had ever really figured out his pattern.   Despite being the Number One or Number Two Hero at any given moment, he never picked anyone who placed in the top three. He rarely even picked someone who placed in the top ten.  He’d been doing it for over twenty years and no one had ever figured it out.
Izuku always picked someone who looked like they deserved a chance to prove themselves.  Maybe not someone who’d placed high, but someone who was trying their hardest and just needed a little spotlight to make their mark. He knew how it felt to be a kid with no offers, to be trying so hard but not measuring up to some horribly high standard.  And he didn’t want anyone to go through that if he could help it.   It didn’t hurt that he still had a fantastic eye for analysis. He’d actually written a couple of books on Quirk analysis and application that were still being used as textbooks in a few of the Hero Schools.
“Maybe,” he said.  “Toshi’s been talking up one of the kid’s classmates. His parents aren’t Heroes, so I want to get a good look at him in the Festival.”
“Haimawari?” Shoto asked. “Izumi’s mentioned him too.  I think she still feels rather guilty for injuring him.  But I’d planned on watching too.”
Both snapped their attention to Eri and Kota, who had had more contact with the kid than either of them.
“Nope,” Kota said.  “I’m not playing favorites here or saying anything that might influence you.  You’re going to have to wait and watch.”
“He’s certainly got a heart for heroics,” Eri said, clearly not feeling bound by the same rules as her husband.  “Dad says he reminds him a lot of two of you when you were students.”
“Interesting,” Shoto said.
“Definitely,” Izuku agreed. “So… I guess we just watch and wait and if we like him, we’ll make offers and let him decide?”
“Sounds fair.”
Kacchan slammed a fist on the table.  “What’s so special about this kid that’s got everybody excited over him?!”
Izuku held up his hands to pacify his friend.  Even though they had put their differences aside ages ago, he’d be lying if he said Kacchan’s outbursts didn’t make some small part of him still flinch inside.  “Just hearing good things, Kacchan.  We’ll see where it goes.”
A smug grin crossed Kacchan’s face.  “Yeah, well, maybe I’ll watch for this kid too.  Snipe him right out from under you and IcyHot.”
“That’d be great!  You’ve got a lot to offer, Kacchan!”
“Dammit, Deku, you can’t even compete right…!”
Izuku just smiled, which only made Kacchan glower more.  Some things never changed.  “I think that’s everyone?  Tetsutetsu, Itsuka?  Did you want somebody to take Kana, or…?”
“I can do it!” Ejiro volunteered.
“Yeah, that’d rock, bro!” Tetsutetsu cheered.
“Bro.”
“Bro.”
“Bro!”
“Bro!”
“Boys!” Itsuka shouted. “That’s really nice, Eijiro, but probably not a good idea.  You and Tetsu are too alike for her to learn anything new.  Besides, she might start sliding back to when she and Katsumi wouldn’t tell you two apart.”
“We’re alike?” Eijiro asked. He looked at Tetsutetsu, who simply shrugged.
“But we’re fine, Izuku,” Itsuka said.  “Neito’s mentioned taking an interest in her, but we know she’ll do well enough to find somebody.”
“Or me!” Pony said.  “I’d love to take Kana!”
“Let her get some offers, Pony,” Itsuka said.  “But we’ll see.”
“I can respect that,” Izuku said.
From there, the conversation drifted back to simpler topics.  Day to day concerns, children, choices of whether or not to take a side job or endorse some piece of merchandise.  For a little while, they world went away and they were just a group of friends getting together.  Izuku smiled. This happened far too rarely and he intended to savor every moment.

4th Popularity Poll (Japan): Some musings
Tumblr media
Random thoughts about the 4th poll possibilities. I could look at the results of the previous two polls and compare the results with the story arcs that were running during voting but, well, that’s a lot of work. Let’s just assume that there will be more votes this time, as that is the trend. Also, I’m in the USA, and there isn’t necessarily worldwide consensus about character popularity.
The results of the 3rd Weekly Shonen Jump Poll are as follows. According to the BNHA wiki 35,681 votes were cast.
Bakugou Katsuki
Midoriya Izuku
Todoroki Shouto
Kirishma Eijirou
Iida Tenya
Aizawa Shouta/Eraserhead
All Might/Yagi Toshinori
Kaminari Denki
Uraraka Ochaco
Shinsou Hitoshi
Sooo..
Shinsou. I don’t really understand why he’s so popular. His backstory and quirk are great -- “You can’t help what your heart longs for” -- but he’s hardly in the manga. 4th poll Top ten: No
Uraraka. She’s the female main character, she’s in the film, and she participated i.e., ”was there” for the Internship arc. But there are many compelling new characters so her place could be in jeopardy. Top ten: Chancy.
Kaminari. Nice arc in cultural festival, but same as Uraraka. Will likely be displaced by new characters. Top ten: No.
All Might. This is an interesting one. It is his story, but he hasn’t been very prominent in the recent arcs. Top ten: 50-50.
Aizawa. Perennial favorite  because he’s amazing. Had a big role in Internship arc, and is Best Teacher in current Endeavor arc. (I’ll be very sad if he falls out of the the top 🙃).Top ten: Likely.
Iida. Has been pretty low-profile lately. Top ten: No.
Kirishma. Knocked it out of the park in the Internship arc.  Supposed to have good role in movie. Top ten: Yes
Todoroki. Yes.
Midoryia. Yes
Bakugou. Hasn’t had many action-oriented arcs in the manga, but his character development has been solid. Also features prominently in the anime right now with one particularly memorable scene coming up. Top ten: Yes, but maybe not #1 this time.
Characters who could cause a shake-up in the rankings:
Hawks. Fascinating character with a great story arc. Horikoshi included him in the poll announcement artwork. Top ten: Almost certainly.
Mirio. Interesting case. Very popular in the USA, but I’m not sure how he looks to the rest of the world. The story positions him as someone we’re supposed to like Top ten: Likely
Eri. People like kids with tragic backstories. Top ten: Possibly
Endeavor. His b/w morality has been given some nuance and he’s in the midst of a strong arc in the manga. Top ten: Possibly
Tamaki Amajiki/Suneater. Dark horse. We learned a lot about him in the Internship arc, and he figured prominently. Fatgum said he’s extremely powerful. Top ten: Possibly.
Utsushimi Camie. Very popular in the USA. Top ten: Possibly.
Inasa Yoarashi. I expect big things from him in the future. Top ten: Unlikely.
Mei Hatsume. Popular, especially among some anime viewers. Top ten: Unlikely.
Jiro kyoka. Just had a nice arc but overall hasn’t had much to do. Top ten: Unlikely.
There has never been a villain in the Top Ten, but Chisaki Kai/Overhaul and  Tobita Danjuro/Gentle-Manami Aiba /La Brava (I LOVE her quirk, no pun intended. So creative for the genre) were all charismatic villains in the own ways. Even Shigaraki got his act together for a pretty badass recent appearance. In a less crowded field, I’d also throw in Toga, Twice, and another possible upset - Dabi - into the mix.
This was exhausting, which is a reflection of the number of compelling characters Horikoshi has created. Girls and women are conspicuously absent. Nejire is the only one of the Big 3 who I think has no chance of being in the top ten, because so far she has been support during the Internship arc (why were all the women outside??) and a beauty pageant contestant (really?).

Project Homeward Bound
Chapter 3- Wheel Decide Your Fate
Word count- a lot of them.
Nejire rubs her temples. She knew how the kids were going into it but she didn’t realize how bad it would get. They’ve been arguing the entire time. Deku this, fuck you that, they haven’t stopped the entire time.
“Fuck you shitty hair!”
“Maybe we could-”
“I wanna go first!”
“Guys-”
“Fuck off!”
“Stop-”
It all devolves to incoherent arguing.
“You know what.” Nejire says, entirely to herself as everyone is still bickering. She then mutes everyone else. “I’m going to deal with this.” She opens up a tab to a wheel spinner site and loads all 21 of them up. “Here we go. Aoyama and Todoroki. Now you can stop arguing.”
“Well mon ami, do you wish to be the server, or should I?”
“Go ahead.”
“Shoto,” Fuyumi says as she enters the room. “Oops, are you busy?”
“Uh…” He looks back at his screen as if waiting for a prompt.
Yuga hears the hesitance in his voice and answers for him. “We haven’t started yet, it’s fine.”
Shoto nods. “Right, what is it?”
“Well first there’s a villain fight happening a few blocks from here, so stay inside.”
“Who’s fighting?”
“Hawks.”
“Just him?”
“Well there’s just one villain.” Fair. “Second I need you to wash the dishes.”
“Right now?”
“Is that a problem?”
He quickly looks at his screen again. “No.”
“Great!” She leaves.
“Sorry, guys.”
“It’s fine.” Nejire says.
“Why don’t you download the game while doing the dishes?” Ochako suggests. “Then it’ll be all done by when you get back!”
“Good idea.” He puts in the disc before he exits.
Yuga puts in his disc and watches it load. It doesn’t take long. Stupid rich people internet. The blue sky and cloudy background are still there, and it says “connect to client to begin.”
“Oh,” Nejire says.
“What is it?” Izuku asks.
“Seems Togata needs to talk. I’ll see you in a bit!” And with that she leaves the Team A chat and enters the big three one with the other two.
“What’s up?”
“Have you guys gotten the game open yet?”
“No… in fact we only just picked our first two players.” She sighs. “I love them, but they sure can be a handful. Why do you ask though?”
“Oh, uh…” He isn’t sure of how to explain it. “Look at the video in our team’s chat.”
“Whoa.”
“What is that?” Tamaki speaks up for the first time.
“We aren’t sure. Shinso said it just showed up when his game finished downloading.”
“What do you think it is?”
“I don’t know. Fetch modus… what does that even mean?”
“Maybe we can figure it out by breaking down the words.” Tamaki suggests. “Like fetch means to bring something.”
“Then what does modus mean?”
“It’s…” Nejire starts. “The immediate manner in which property may be acquired or the particular tenure it is held.”
“That still means nothing to me.”
“Sorry, I guess my idea didn’t help all that much.”
“No, you did just fine!” Nejire reassures him.
“Yeah!”
“If you guys say so…”
“Yeah!”
“I think the kids want me back.” Mirio notes, seeing all of the notifications.
“Right. We should probably get going.”
“I hope it goes well.”
Nejire joins back at the same time as Shota.
“Is your game loaded?”
“Almost. There.”
“Great!” Nejire thinks for a moment. “Do you see anything to your side?”
“What?”
“Just humor me for a second.”
“Well… oh.” He does see something.
“What does it say?”
“Pick your fetch modus.” He reads. “What does that mean?”
“That’s what Togata wanted to talk about. According to the definitions it means to return tenure.”
“Okay…” Rikido starts. “And what does that mean?”
“Jury’s still out on that one.”
Shoto looks over the options. It’s weird to him how this thing just sort of popped up but there has been weirder.
“Which one should I pick?”
“That’s your decision.”
He looks through them. None of them seem particularly interesting. Eventually he picks thermometer. It’ll work well with his quirk. Probably.
Next it asks for a strife specibus.
Then there’s a sudden jolt. The house shakes. A support beam falls from the ceiling, hitting the blank card. “Stick-kind” now appears on the card and it soon disappears.
“What was that?!” Ochako asks.
“The villain fight must be getting worse…”
“Villain fight?!” The class yells.
“Calm down, guys. If the heroes need our help then they’ll call us. It’s fine.”
“It’s only one, and Hawks is taking care of it.”
“See? All fine. Is your game all set up now?”
“It says I have to connect to server.”
“I suppose that’s where I come in.”
They connect. Shoto sees shapes and numbers and Yuga sees Shoto.
“That shake really did a number on your room.”
“What?”
“It’s a complete mess.”
“Wait, you can see his house?!” Eijiro asks.
“And your first instinct is to judge it.” Tsuyu says.
“Yes.” Yuga looks around, clicks some stuff.
Shoto hears something downstairs. Not the most important thing right now.
“Why can you see in my house?”
“It seems to be the game.”
“I’m not seeing anything like that.”
“Maybe it’s because he’s the server player?” Mashirao suggests. “They are different parts of the game, right?”
“But why can he see my house?”
“Shoto!” He hears his father call from downstairs. Great. He walks slowly to where he is. The kitchen.
“What is this?” He asks, pointing at something just the perfect size to take up the kitchen.
“That was me...” Yuga admits.
“What was you?” Tenya asks.
“It’s for a school project.” Shoto lies.
“Why is it in the kitchen?”
“It fits so nicely.”
He sighs. “Just remove it as soon as possible.”
“Mhm, okay.”
Enji walks away and Shoto goes back to his room.
“What is it?” Kyoka asks.
“It’s a circle machine with a pedestal on it.”
“Great fuckin’ description, Half ‘n Half.”
“How about you screen share so we can see it too?” Denki suggests.
“Would that be okay, Todoroki?”
“Yeah.”
He does just that and shows them the machine.
“It really is a circle machine with a pedestal on it.” Mina says.
Yuga sets down the other machines around the house and the card on his desk. Shoto picks up the card and… it disappears. He notices a different card with said card on it. There’s a number, 50, and a thermometer going up the long side.
“Alright. Now what?” Hanta asks.
“Shoto!” His father calls again.
He goes to where he is again, the living room, and sees another big machine.
“It’s also a part of my school project.”
“Why does it have to take up so much space?!”
“I can’t keep them all in my room, they’re too big.”
“But why do they have to be scattered around the house?!”
“They look most aesthetically pleasing that way.” Yuga says.
“They look most aesthetically pleasing that way.” Shoto repeats.
He looks pissed. “Aesthetically pleasing?!” He slams his fist onto the top of the machine and the top pops off.
“You broke it.”
Out pops the orb.
Yuga pokes around a little bit and sees the neighbors have a rose bush. He tries to pluck a flower but ends up unrooting the whole thing. Whoops.
“Aoyama!” Several students yell.
In an attempt to stop the arguing, he drops the roses in between them and right on the orb, which changes.
“What are you yelling about?” Natsuo asks, entering the room. “And what are those things?!”
“They’re for my school project.”
“You’re still sticking to that?” Kyoka asks.
“Hey there’s a timer!” Mina points out.
Shoto looks at the machine. After some thinking he turns the dial. A cylinder pops out. He grabs it and disappears into another card.
Looking around, he sees the machine in the kitchen. He looks at the cylinder card. Zero. Easy. He activates his ice and the cylinder pops out in seconds. He places it onto the  pedestal and… nothing. Darn. He takes it back.
“Hey Shoto,” Natsuo says inspecting the thing in the living room. “What’s this counting down to?”
“What’s it counting down to?” Shoto repeats so everyone else can hear it.
“The destruction of your home.” Mezo says calmly.
“What?” Ochako asks.
“The destruction of his home.”
“Shoji you shouldn’t joke about these things.” Nejire scolds him.
“I’m not joking.”
“How do you know that’s what’ll happen?” Momo asks.
“Intuition.”
“Ah…” Shoto thinks for a moment. “Nothing you should worry about.” He walks away and when he’s out of their sight he runs up to his room.
“How do we stop that?!” Izuku asks.
“By getting into the medium before the timer hits zero, I’d guess.”
“What’s the medium?”
“I don’t know.”
“Really? You know he’s doomed but you don’t know about the thing you told us about? Very fuckin’ useful, Octopus.”
“Apologies.”
“Hold on a second,” Nejire says. “I’ll be right back.” She leaves the chat.
Shoto looks at the thing that Yuga put in his room. He gets the cylinder and puts it into the machine where it looks like it’d go. Nothing. Inspecting it more he sees card slots. He heats up the card and puts it in. It consumes the card and starts cutting.
“Alright I’m back,”
“That was quick.” Ejiro comments. “What were you doing?”
“I grabbed my phone so I can know of any incident reports.”
“You didn’t have your phone on you already?” Denki asks.
“It was charging. That’s not what’s important, though. What’s that?”
“The machine cut up the cylinder.” Shoto says.
He goes back downstairs, retrieves the cut cylinder, and puts it on the pedestal. Stealing a glance at the timer he sees he has a minute left. The machine consumes the cut cylinder and creates a picture in a frame. Picking it up he sees that it’s an old photo of his family. Him, his mom, his father, his sister, and his brothers. Both of them.
“How did…?” He sees something out the window. Something blue and small, though slowly getting bigger. It’s headed right towards the house. He looks at the timer again. 32 seconds. “What am I supposed to do?”
He holds the picture. The blue thing getting closer and closer, the house getting hotter and hotter, the timer ticking lower and lower. Tears begin to roll down his face and he closes his eyes. Suddenly there’s a lurch. He stumbles and feels the house cooling down. Opening his eyes he sees that he crushed and broke the frame, then it disappears.
“What just happened?” Shoto looks around. The timer stopped.
“Shoto!” Fuyumi runs into the room. “Are you okay? What happened?” She sees he’s crying. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“I’m gonna talk to Team B.” Nejire quickly leaves.
Shoto hears something shatter in the other room.
“And I just cleaned…” They go to investigate it and find a monster with petals and thorns. “What is that?!”
It reaches out and grabs Fuyumi. She activates her quirk, freezing it completely. Looking at her arm there are a few scratches but nothing a first aid kit couldn’t fix. The creature then disappears into weird shapes. When Shoto tries to touch one it pops.
“What was that?!”
“I don’t know.”
Meanwhile back where the Todoroki house was, Hawks and Dabi lay in the crater.
“What…?” Hawks sits up. He realizes where he’s at and flies over to see the damage. “Oh no oh no what happened?!”
“What’s wrong, Bird-Brains?”
“We just obliterated a house!” He hopes the Todorokis weren’t home. He’s wrong but they’re also decently okay.
Hawks pulls out his phone and begins pacing.
“What’s the plan, BirdMan?”
“What?”
“What are we going to do?”
“I,” He makes a large gesture. “Am going to make some calls. You,” He sends a feather and picks him up. “Are going to Tartarus.”
He burns the feather, and some of his clothes, and lands with a huff.
“I don’t think so, Bird Boy.” He turns to walk away. “I’ll see you later.”
Hawks sighs. Priorities, where do they lie? The destroyed house. That’s where.
He calls up Shota and starts flying to his house.
“Pick up pick up pick up pick up…”
“Hello?” Hizashi says.
“I need to talk to you guys. I’m headed to your house.”
Hizashi gets Shota to talk.
“What is it?”
“I think I destroyed Endeavour’s house.”
“What?”
“I was fighting and we landed there and there was this huge crater where his house was supposed to be.”
“Right.” Shota rubs his eyes. “Were they in there?”
“I didn’t see them.” Very reassuring.
Hawks almost falls out of the sky when he arrives.
“Where’s your house?”
“Our address hasn’t changed since the last time you were here.”
“No I mean I’m at the address and your house is gone!”
“What? But we're in our…” Shota rushes to the window and looks out, seeing he is not in his neighborhood any more.
