Jelly Tart Thief
Things had been quiet since they'd brought back the pearl.
Too quiet. A storm was brewing, but there wasn't any sign of that yet.
"... only one matter to discuss today."
"Huh?"
He was awake. He was awake now... this wasn't his super cozy bed though, it was the table around which the...
"Oh no. Did I doze off again?"
The young king groaned, rubbing at his eyes.
"You appear to have lost sleep, my king. Are you still keeping your brother company to help with his?" Opeli asked gently. The others were looking at him with concern.
"No, no, don't worry. Callum's mastered some new spell, it's...
He's. He's okay, now. He's not still dreaming about... "
Ezran trailed off. "Well. You know who."
The ensuing silence was awkward, and a bit painful.
Opeli spoke again, after a very long moment.
"The fallen elf?"
"The pirate one. Now that I think about it, he hasn't said anything about more possession dreams either," Ezran sighed.
He turned, addressing Bait.
"I... Callum said..."
"He's still taking a break. To process, he told me. He'll show up next meeting, Bait, don't worry."
Bait made a worried noise in response, staring into his eyes.
"Well, back to the matter at hand. As you all know, there is a thief who's been raiding the kitchen for almost two weeks. As some may not know, the only food they've taken so far, is..."
Ezran and Barius complained in unison.
"MY JELLY TARTS!!"
"Ezran and I have waited ALL night for the culprit, for the past FIVE nights!!"
The frustrated baker continued :"Rayla is even sneaking around the castle, trying to catch them unawares."
Bait grumbled. Ezran translated.
"She just keeps finding... Callum? Bait! You didn't tell me he was still sleepwalking??"
Bait apologized.
"Callum told you both not to say anything? Oh." Ezran sighed.
"He probably just doesn't want you to worry too much and lose even more sleep," Corvus piped up.
"Yeah," Ezran sighed with a fond smile.
"Have any of you made any progress on apprehending the thief so far?" Opeli asked.
" Crownguards searched the whole castle, we searched everywhere outside, now we're looking further away. Here's hoping we spot this Jellyburglar heading for the castle," said Soren.
"You won't. I've been attempting to find their trail, where it comes from, how they enter here. Nothing. Whoever it is, it's someone inside the castle. This morning I found jelly tart crumbs scattered on the floor, inside that one wall with the metal grate."
"Finally! A clue,"Ezran exclaimed.
"But that's it. Just some crumbs. It's like they're making the tarts move on their own or something," Corvus frowned.
Gears starting turning in everyone's heads.
"Uh, why's everyone staring at me?"
"Ezran..." Soren said slowly.
"I think we have uncovered the identity of our 'Jellyburglar',"
Opeli said.
*****
"Ez, why would I be stealing all the jelly tarts and hiding it from everyone? I would NEVER do that!"
"Yeah,he wouldn't!" Rayla defended him.
They smiled at each other. She laid a supportive hand on his shoulder.
Ezran cleared his throat, before they could start leaning in close to each other's faces.
"That's not what anyone thinks. You know your sleepwalking?"
"Sorry, I should have -"
"You didn't have to tell me. It's okay. The important thing is, I think you've been sleep-snacking, too."
"That would explain why the thief's so good at evading capture," Rayla said.
"Sorry for using primal spells to take your tarts, Ez."
"You don't have to apologize. I'll sit by your bed again tonight. Sweet dreams, and no sleepwalking," Ezran smiled.
*****
Ezran had sweet dreams too, and they ended abruptly when he fell out of his chair.
"Wha-? Callum!"
He was already gone. Bait said he'd just seen him leave, wandering in a trance-like state out the door, his head lowered.
He grabbed the Glow Toad and ran out.
There was no sign of Callum, but he knew exactly where he'd find him.
Indeed, there he was outside the wall that offered a sneaky way into the kitchen.
His arm was extended, hand elegantly positioned.
Ezran stopped walking, gasping quietly.
"I didn't know you could do THAT, Callum."
The jelly tarts were floating in the air, and into his arms.
Half of them abruptly dropped straight down, as the mage froze.
Slowly, Callum turned around to face Ezran.
But it wasn't Callum.
His eyes shone with star magic.
His mouth was stuffed with tarts.
"They're delicious, huh?"
Aaravos managed to swallow the tarts, and stood staring at him.
Neither one of them was quite sure what to do now.
"They, uh...they go down pretty well with hot brown morning potion."
"Why aren't you calling for your guards?"
"That's no way to have a conversation."
"For what reason would you like to converse with me?"
"You keep stealing my tarts."
"And I will not cease stealing your tarts. They are quite delectable."
"How about I just ask my baker to make extra tarts, and I'll leave them for you."
"What would be the purpose of that, child?"
"To be nice, Archmage."
"Ahh, I see."
Aaravos laughed.
"You are trying in your adorable yet sad way to sway me. If you think you can change my plans for the sake of mere pastries..."
"How about mere new books? You've been in there for a while, and Callum said you had books. I'm sure it's super boring, having nothing new to read."
"What would you like in exchange, child? I can't pinkie swear that I'll never ever do bad things ever again, and that we'll always be the best of friends."
"You really have forgotten what kindness and empathy are, haven't you? You don't ever miss having friends?"
"My so-called 'friends' betrayed me ."
"I know what that's like. Want to talk about it?"
"No. Leave me alone."
"With all my jelly tarts? No!"
"You cannot stop me from walking away with these tarts, and you surely know it. Move out of my way."
"Alright. But in that case I'm ordering Barius to never, ever, bake another jelly tart again."
Aaravos glared at him.
"I'm not bluffing. I'll do it. Either we do this the nice way, or we can do it the not-so-nice way."
"I will not answer any of your questions."
"We don't have to talk. You bring the tarts, and I'll bring the hot brown morning potion. Trust me, it'll be worth tolerating my company."
"Your idealistic dream of changing the world's hearts,
will one day be cruelly shattered, child king."
"I only want to change one, right now. That's how you change people. One act of kindness, one act of mercy, one hand reaching out to help. One heart, at a time."
Aaravos suppressed a smile. "They said something like that to me, once. Alright, as long as you bring that strange potion of yours, I'll tolerate you. But I won't be talking. We won't be friends."
"We just talked, Aaravos. And it went well. I'm sure this is the start of a wonderful not-friendship."
Ezran smiled, and Not-Callum started walking off with the tarts.
Hopefully, this situation would not require another battle, another war.
He was hopeful.

THE TIRUPATI LADDU CONTROVERSY: RELIGIOUS SENTIMENT, POLITICS, AND PUBLIC OUTCRY
The Tirupati Laddu, a globally renowned and sacred offering from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), is currently at the center of a heated controversy. Allegations that animal fat was found in the ghee used to prepare the laddus have stirred religious, political, and social unrest.
OVERVIEW OF THE TIRUPATI LADDU CONTROVERSY
What Happened?
In September 2024, reports emerged alleging that the ghee used in Tirupati laddus contained traces of animal fats, including beef tallow, lard (pig fat), and fish oil. A laboratory report from the Centre of Analysis and Learning in Livestock and Food (CALF) lab indicated adulteration of the ghee with these substances, triggering outrage among devotees and the public.
Key Findings from Lab Tests
According to reports, the ghee used was found to be highly adulterated with a concoction of both animal and vegetable fats. The lab results were alarming, with the ghee sample values being much lower than acceptable standards. Pure milk fat should have a reading between 95.68 and 104.32, but the samples tested only showed values around 20.
Political Fallout
The controversy quickly escalated into a political battle. Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) accused the current administration, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, of negligence. Naidu’s son, Nara Lokesh, echoed these concerns, accusing the YSR Congress of disrespecting religious sentiments. In response, Jagan Mohan Reddy dismissed the allegations as politically motivated.
Impact on Devotees
The allegations of using animal fat in a sacred offering like the Tirupati laddu deeply hurt the religious sentiments of millions of devotees worldwide. For many, the laddu is not just food; it is "prasadam" – a holy offering blessed by Lord Venkateswara. Any adulteration of this sacred item is considered sacrilegious, adding to the severity of the situation.
Actions Taken by TTD
The TTD, which oversees the production of Tirupati laddus, responded quickly to the scandal. They blacklisted the suppliers involved and initiated legal action. Additionally, they formed an expert committee to set up an in-house laboratory to ensure better quality control in the future.
Political Context
Beyond religious and social implications, the Tirupati Laddu controversy has political undertones. The TDP has used this incident to attack the YSR Congress, accusing it of failing to protect religious sanctity. On the other hand, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has dismissed these claims as "diversion politics," accusing Naidu of using faith for political gain.
Future Precautions
In response to this controversy, the TTD has vowed to improve its quality checks and ensure that only the highest quality ingredients are used for sacred offerings in the future. They have also replaced the current suppliers with more reliable ones to avoid such issues going forward.
------------
FAQs About the Tirupati Laddu Controversy
What is the Tirupati Laddu controversy?
The Tirupati Laddu controversy centers around allegations that the ghee used in the preparation of the laddus contained animal fats, including beef tallow, lard, and fish oil. This has triggered widespread outrage among devotees and led to political blame games between the TDP and the YSR Congress.
Why is the Tirupati Laddu sacred?
The Tirupati Laddu is considered sacred as it is an offering (prasadam) given to devotees of Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple. Millions of devotees believe that consuming the laddu brings blessings from the deity.
What action has TTD taken?
The TTD has blacklisted the suppliers involved in providing the adulterated ghee and initiated legal action. They are also setting up an in-house laboratory to ensure better quality control of the ingredients used in temple offerings.
Is the controversy politically motivated?
The TDP has accused the YSR Congress of neglecting religious duties by allowing adulterated ghee in the laddus. However, Jagan Mohan Reddy has dismissed these claims as politically motivated, accusing his opponents of exploiting religious issues for political gain.
-------------
Conclusion
The Tirupati Laddu controversy is more than just a food adulteration case; it has religious, social, and political implications. As both sides continue to debate, the TTD has taken immediate action to restore trust and ensure the sanctity of temple offerings. Moving forward, stringent quality checks will be essential to ensure the sanctity of temple offerings. Moving forward, stringent quality checks will be essential to prevent future scandals from damaging the reputation of one of India’s most revered temples.

🔴BREAKING NEWS: BJP-led NDA got majority! But why did the BJP fail to get 300 seats this time? 🤔 What happened?
Indians closely followed the announcement of the latest election results, observing a surprising turn of events for the nationalist ruling government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which faced a humbling outcome yesterday.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP had a remarkable victory, securing 303 seats on its own. However, in the recent elections, the BJP's seat count significantly dropped to 240. Even with the support of its allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the coalition couldn't reach the 300-seat threshold.
Although the BJP, along with its NDA allies, still holds a majority, the new government will have to be formed through a coalition, as the BJP did not achieve a sole majority this time around. This marks a notable change in the political scenario, indicating a more collaborative governance structure ahead.
🧐 Why?
Several factors contributed to the decline in the BJP's popularity:
▪ High unemployment rates, rising inflation, and the controversial Agniveer scheme significantly damaged the party's standing among voters.
▪ Additionally, the BJP, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adopted an aggressive campaign strategy. Modi's campaign included several controversial remarks, such as the mangalsutra comment, the mujra remark, and the infiltrator comment, which sparked widespread criticism.
▪ Conversely, the Opposition performed effectively. They successfully consolidated votes through their I.N.D.I.A. alliance, and Akhilesh Yadav skillfully leveraged the PDA strategy.
▪ Furthermore, the Congress party made several enticing promises that, while potentially harmful to economic health (such as the Mahalaxmi scheme, increased MNREGA wages, and MSP guarantee), resonated positively with many voters.
😕What now?: ▪ Despite the disappointing results, the BJP still has the most seats independently and has the majority in Parliament with its allies in NDA.
▪ However, if the JDU and TDP choose to leave the NDA, Narendra Modi would not become the PM!
▪ The NDA is set to meet in Delhi today for the same!!! ❓Is Narendra Modi set to be PM? Or will the NDA betray the BJP?? Follow Jobaaj Stories (the media arm of Jobaaj.com Group for more)

Implementation of Welfare Programmes
More welfare programmes for women are being introduced in Andhra Pradesh than in any other state in the union. N. Chandrababu Naidu met with women from self-help organisations in the state. The gathering was hosted as part of the "Pasupu-Kumkuma" scheme's fourth tranche of payments. The chief minister of the state, N. Chandrababu Naidu, is attempting to create a brand for the residents of Andhra Pradesh. Following the implementation of 21 social programs, such now seems to be the case. To assist rural towns in advancing their socioeconomic situation, he initiated a flurry of programs and projects.Visit our site for TDP Achievements and Developments .
He also emphasized the progress made in the infrastructure while he was in charge. With 25000 KM of CC roads, we have constructed infrastructure in rural areas. To defend women's dignity, we constructed toilets in every home. We are constructing 25 lakh homes for the underprivileged. In all villages, we installed LED lighting, a drainage system, gas for every home, and clean drinking water. Despite the problems with the bifurcation, we are not reluctant to invest money in facilities."
N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the need of using technology properly, claiming that tying Aadhar numbers to recipients of government programs will decrease misuse and theft. N. Chandrababu Naidu announced the formation of the Swacha Andhra Pradesh Corporation and advised that sanitation and hygiene be given first priority, with individual latrines being prioritized and constructed on schedule. Instead of merely upholding the Constitution, officers should strive to improve the lives of those they serve. Additionally, it was encouraged to be transparent in how Dalit, ST, SC, and minority group welfare and development programs were carried out.For more information follow Latest TDP News.
To accomplish social empowerment and poverty reduction, N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed the government ministries to coordinate their efforts. He also declared that all personnel who have worked for three years in Agency areas will receive postings in locations of their choosing.
Other choices made by the Chief Minister at the meeting included boosting tourism development and working to give each town in the State a distinct identity. Artisans would be given unique skill training, access to special colonies, and marketing facilities.

Through partnerships with research institutions and private sector stakeholders, Nara Chandrababu Naidu's Vision encourages the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices in agriculture. This collaborative approach fosters a culture of continuous improvement and adaptation to evolving market demands, positioning farmers for sustained success in an increasingly competitive global market.
Financial Support for Farmers
Improving financial support mechanisms is essential for strengthening the economic resilience of agricultural communities. In Andhra Pradesh, under Naidu's leadership, initiatives such as zero-interest loans for farmers have been implemented to alleviate financial burdens. These schemes aim to provide timely and affordable credit to farmers, enabling them to invest in their crops without falling into debt traps.
Furthermore, TDP Party President Nara Chandrababu Naidu's government has introduced crop insurance programs to safeguard farmers from the risks associated with unpredictable weather patterns and crop failures. By offering insurance coverage at reasonable premiums, farmers are shielded from significant financial losses, promoting stability in the agricultural sector.
Additionally, subsidies on agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilizers, and machinery play a significant role in reducing production costs for farmers. These subsidies enhance the profitability of farming operations, encouraging sustainable practices and boosting overall agricultural productivity.
Technological Advancements in Farming
Enhancing agricultural productivity through the integration of technological advancements is essential for modernizing farming practices and ensuring sustainable food production. In today's rapidly evolving agricultural landscape, the adoption of innovative technologies such as precision farming, drones, and AI-driven analytics has become increasingly important. These technologies offer farmers the ability to optimize resource utilization, enhance crop monitoring, and make data-driven decisions that can greatly boost yields and profitability.

Irrigation Infrastructure Development
A robust irrigation infrastructure is fundamental for ensuring consistent water supply to agricultural lands, thereby enhancing crop productivity and overall farm sustainability. In Andhra Pradesh, under Chief Minister Naidu's leadership, significant investments have been made in modernizing and expanding irrigation systems. Data reveals that over the past few years, the state has witnessed a substantial increase in the coverage of irrigated land, leading to improved agricultural output. The implementation of innovative water management techniques, such as micro-irrigation systems and drip irrigation, has not only optimized water usage but also increased crop yields. These advancements in irrigation infrastructure have not only boosted farmer incomes but also contributed to the overall growth of the agricultural sector in the region. Moving forward, continued focus on enhancing irrigation infrastructure will be vital for ensuring sustainable agricultural practices and securing the livelihoods of farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
Crop Diversification Programs
How have Chief Minister Naidu's agricultural policies in Andhra Pradesh impacted crop diversification programs for farmers in the region? Chief Minister Naidu's initiatives have greatly influenced crop diversification in Andhra Pradesh by promoting the cultivation of a wider variety of crops. Through schemes like the Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) program, farmers are encouraged to shift towards sustainable and diversified agricultural practices. This approach not only reduces dependency on traditional crops but also enhances soil health and biodiversity.
the implementation of crop-specific programs such as the Coordinated Horticulture Advancement Management Business Reforms (CHAMAN) has facilitated the cultivation of high-value crops like fruits, vegetables, and spices. These programs provide technical support, market linkages, and financial assistance to farmers, enabling them to explore new crop options and increase their income.
Market Access and Value Addition
By facilitating improved market access and promoting value addition, Chief Minister Naidu's agricultural policies in Andhra Pradesh have paved the way for increased economic opportunities for farmers in the region. Enhancing market access through infrastructure development, such as cold storage facilities and transportation networks, has allowed farmers to reach a wider consumer base and secure better prices for their produce. Additionally, initiatives focusing on value addition, like setting up food processing units and promoting organic farming practices, have enabled farmers to diversify their products and capture higher margins in the market.
Data shows a significant impact of these measures, with a notable increase in farmers' income levels and overall agricultural productivity in Andhra Pradesh. The state has witnessed a rise in agricultural exports due to improved product quality and market linkages established through these policies. Moving forward, continued emphasis on enhancing market access and promoting value addition will be essential in sustaining the positive momentum and driving further growth in the agricultural sector.
Training and Skill Development
Facilitating the development of specialized skills and providing targeted training programs is integral to further enhancing the economic empowerment of farmers under Chief Minister Naidu's agricultural initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. By focusing on training and skill development, farmers are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to adapt to changing market demands and technological advancements. Data reveals that over 100,000 farmers have participated in various training programs, covering essential topics such as sustainable farming techniques, modern agricultural practices, and financial literacy. These initiatives aim to not only increase productivity but also improve the overall quality of agricultural output in the region.
Through strategic partnerships with agricultural universities, research institutions, and industry experts, the training programs are designed to be innovative and tailored to the specific needs of Andhra Pradesh's farming community. By investing in the skill development of farmers, Chief Minister Naidu's administration is paving the way for a more sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector in the state.
Sustainable Farming Practices
Implementing sustainable farming practices is essential for enhancing agricultural productivity and environmental conservation in Andhra Pradesh. By adopting techniques such as precision agriculture, organic farming, and water-efficient irrigation methods, farmers can optimize resource use while minimizing negative impacts on the environment. In Andhra Pradesh, initiatives promoting sustainable practices have shown promising results. For example, the Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) program has gained traction, emphasizing chemical-free cultivation and reduced water consumption. This approach not only benefits the environment by preserving soil health and biodiversity but also enhances farmers' income by lowering input costs.
incorporating agroforestry systems can contribute to sustainable farming by promoting biodiversity, improving soil fertility, and providing additional sources of income for farmers. Encouraging the use of renewable energy sources like solar-powered irrigation pumps further aligns with sustainable practices, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. By prioritizing sustainable farming methods, Andhra Pradesh can pave the way for innovative agricultural practices that prioritize both productivity and environmental stewardship.
Women Empowerment in Agriculture
The integration of women into agricultural decision-making processes is essential for fostering inclusive and sustainable farming practices in Andhra Pradesh. Recognizing the vital role of women in agriculture, the government of Andhra Pradesh has implemented various initiatives to empower women farmers. As of recent data, women make up approximately 60% of the agricultural workforce in the state. However, they often face significant challenges such as limited access to resources, lack of information, and social barriers.
