Howdy there again! It’s December 13th! Did you know that according to the 12 days of christmas song, today we would be left with 364 gifts! That’s insane! And most of them would be birds! 184 to be exact. Insane literally who needs all of that. Wait. Oh, right, I’m a writing blog. Uh, anyway, it’s the 13th day of Writemas! Here is the invite post if you still wanna join/look at the rules for writemas and here are the prompts I am going to be using today!! It’s all back on topic down there please direct your attention away from here lmao. Disregard my ramblings above.
Prompts used:
Feeling: The ache of longing
Setting: A vehicle(carriage)
WOW It sure has been a while since I last wrote for Perci. Like 5-6 days ago, which isn’t actually that long but still! I’ve been neglecting him too much!! Hopefully this one will make up for it.

Please enjoy!!
------------------------------
The raw air of the darkest night ran cold. Nothing else could send such a piercing bitter feeling down to Perci’s heart. It was the twilight of the night he left his family behind in the snowy apocalypse of a village. Luckily for him, it was only half a day's ride away to Haukrosen. Others on the trip weren’t didn’t have that luxury. Some had to travel for weeks on end—restless, grueling weeks, toughing it out through frigid cold and snowstorms—to make it to the capital. About a handful of potential soldiers didn’t make it, which when added up, hinders the growth of the army the Queen so desperately needed, for whatever reason.
Perci laid his hand on the rim of the carriage sides. The metallic cold instantly hit his fingertips and stung as it gradually made its way up his hand. He looked away from his hand and towards the outside beyond them. The landscape was ever changing as the . He stared, thinking. What were they doing at this time of night? Were they asleep? Perci knew that no one could sleep on a night like this. Definitely not his mother. Shaking his head to rid of his thoughts he drew his attention back into the cart. He was glad he was going to the capital, since otherwise, such nice carriages wouldn’t be wasted on a trip. The cart itself was much more sturdy than he had ever seen. If Perci shook the railings right at that moment they wouldn’t fall off, which was something he was happy to get used to. Plus, the seats were nice and plush. Perfect for a long ride. Maybe there were some upsides to this.
His attention was then drawn to the two others in the car with him. One was a woman who, despite her younger age, looked to have seen it all. She had a nervous expression on her face, and further intensified by the large bags under her tired eyes. The other was a man, a Queensmen that Perci had talked to and befriended—sort of, all he did was learn his name—before they got into the carriage for the ride. He looked to be middle aged, and seemed to hold others and himself in high regard, never letting anyone get away with anything outside of the rules. Something about this man drew Perci in, like he was someone to depend on. He wasn’t like any of the Queensmen that occupied his village, he felt more approachable. So, Perci decided to approach the man through conversation.
“Queensmen Hyde, sir, I have a question.” Perci forced out of his mouth to make conversation with the older man, it was going to be a long ride, after all.
“Fire away, Tarros, there’s no rush.” The Queensmen said,
Perci kept his mouth open, slightly to even dare to ask anything to a man who had so much power over him, but continued on with his question, “Is it true that the gates keep Haurkrosen so hot?”
“Well, yes. The Gates of Gunnhildr do keep the winter winds out, but it also has properties that act as a shield to all cold. And thus, the temperature stays warm all year long, with no snow in sight between the walls. The grass grows green, the people thrive. Harmonious, right?”
“Is it magic? The same kind we use?”
“Yes. Yes it is.”
“Is there some kind of source for this? There has to be for an entire city
“Not that I know of. I’m sure many researchers in Haukrosen could make up so many wild theories about it, but if you ask me, Tarros, all we know is that it’s there, it’s some kind of magic and the people are happy.”
“Interesting. Perhaps it is from the core of the stone.” Perci muttered.
“Perhaps indeed.”

(Back to the distant past with this one kinda)
------------------------------
“Targeting for Harrier. One point deducted. Reset!”
A tiny part of Melina died when she heard the words. Nothing like Infuriated, she bit down on any response and gripped her sword tighter and held it up higher to her opponent. She threw her hand back down when she heard the bell’s signal for round over. Melina threw off her helmet and fixed whatever sweat soaked stray hairs were in the way of her vision. She gritted her teeth and forcibly held back the tears welling up. Get your act together. Quickly, she turned around and wiped her face off as she walked back to her starting position on the mat. After catching her breath and calming down she placed back on her helmet firmly with newfound strength.
She did a quick pivot around to look back at her new match partner this week. A boy from the Queen’s Academy. The mere mention of the school put a bitter taste in Melina’s mouth, fueling her anger even more. The boy himself was quite average at fighting, all things considered. Considering, from what she could tell, he was quite the hot-shot in the academy. Melina wet her lips in anticipation for the match to start. She might even win against this shrimply boy. She analyzed the boy in front of her further. After the moment's rest, he looked tired still, something she could use to her advantage.
“Positions set. Match begin!”
Suddenly the bell across the room rang again. All Melina could see were flashing colors across her field of view. What she could make out was her target, which was all she needed right now. Locking in her sight, she struck in an opening made. Then–Hit!
“Point to Harrier. Four to three. Reset!”
Melina knew she had this covered at this point. Melina smirked to herself, she loved to win against magic users. She knew they were all held back by not relying on it for everything. It gave her a great opportunity to humble fools like him for once. She got back into position and awaited further instructions.
The bell sounded off again. Before she knew it, she flew off her stance and towards her opponent. The swish of the blade from her hand to his was as silent as the rippling of her skirt as they twirled around the mat, silently battling one another against the music that played in her head. This time was a little harder, he seemed to be more prepared that last round. That’s fine. She can draw this out longer if that’s what he wants. The air around them heated up as their blades clashed together. Eventually, one would slip and take the win. Melina was counting on his exhaustion to get the best of him this time. Slowly, as it got more and more intense, she had whittled down her competitor to the point where she controlled the mat. With one decisive stroke to his chest, she hit him. Inside her helmet, her smile grew larger when she realized she won.
“Harrier is victorious! With an amazing streak of 5 wins, can she even be stopped?” The announcer buzzed in delight.
She knew the answer was no, of course. Moments after, the room erupted. Applause consumed the whole arena. Melina smiled and took off her suffocating helmet, she sure did love the noise. All just for her. Overwhelming peace overcame her. Then, someone came over to ruin her glory.
“Good game, Harrier. That was a great match. I would love to do a few more rounds with you again sometime. ”
Melina gave the boy back a hard eyed look. She furrowed her brows in annoyance at his words.
Her newly defeated opponent spoke again through a half-laughing tone, trying to brush off her glare, “You are very quick, I must say.”
"I know what I am, thank you. Now, I will take no more from you, consider this my mercy to you.", Melina snapped back at him. How dense could he be?
She threw down her helmet on the floor, almost hitting his feet and ran out of the room, determined and bright eyed.
~~~
Melina patiently waited for her parent’s enthusiastic conversation to end, but it kept going on and on. She tried to interject multiple times, but nothing would work. Finally, her mother turned her head over to face her daughter for once.
“You got a penalty. Clearly, you didn’t control the match and yourself well enough.” Her mother's face dropped immediately as she uttered out after a long period of ignoring Melina, then back to cackling as they returned to conversation.
Melina stared at her shoes. Well, she wasn’t wrong. The penalty was on me. I need to control myself better next time. I can do better, much better. Both of Melina’s parents walked past her, avoiding her touch as they made their escape out of the room, not even acknowledging her for a second time.
She might have won the match. But really, she had lost. I mean, what kind of sane parents would appreciate having a daughter like that, one who messed up even her win?
₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊The 18th Day of Writemas₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊
Hey y’all! This winter season for me is suuuuuper hot. Currently it’s like 20 C which is absolutely insane! I guess there won’t be a white Christmas this year(just like every other year). In November it was super cold, getting down to maybeee -1 C which again, still isn’t THAT cold but for here it very much is! Anyways I won’t keep ya here long so here is the invite post if you need a reminder of the rules and here are the prompts I’ll be using today!!!
Prompts used:
Narration: Light fought the dark, and finally, dawn broke.
Setting: A home + Emptiness
Hurray! More Melinaaaa. WOW! 2 boss bitches who run towns in a row!? It really is Christmas! It’s too bad Melina doesn’t care about the people of Elares or just anything there in general. Like at all. Especially the prison. ANYWAYYY. I’m going pretty far back into her past for this one, and shedding some light on her ambition for getting the fame and power(that of which she wasn’t given by being born) before she gave it all up a few writemasses ago. Hope y’all enjoy younger Melina and the cunning little rat bastard she is. :). She might just learn from her mistakes one day in the future, wink wink.
Read about the WIP here!!
Hope ya enjoy!!
------------------------------
Melina popped open another bottle of alcohol to celebrate such a momentous occasion. It wasn’t every day that you sign a deal that large. Well, maybe for Melina it was.
Taking a sip from the burning dark blue liquid filled her with as much warmness as the satisfaction from getting just a little more into her grasp. She sat down on top of the desk and picked up the parchment papers to stare at the contract drawn. Right there in ink stated all of the words she needed to hear. It was hers, all hers. Completely. She could just kiss the paper, she was so happy.
Oh, so much money! Just for a few senseless crooks. I could bathe in gold for years on this.
“Such a pleasure to do business with you. Now, I must get back to work. I’m a very busy woman.” Melina said as she ushered the well-armored man out of her office, throwing the door back onto its hinges before he could even open his mouth to say more. He didn’t mean anything now.
Hurrying back inside her room and looking out the intricately stained window, she watched over the hard at work city. Her empire. She had great plans for it. And now that she signed that deal with those shiny, Haukrosen living, castle dwelling, used to the heat, Queen-ass-kissing magic freaks to hand over all of the prisoners held within Elares, effectively dissolving the founding principles her family based the city on, she can bask in all the future glory it will generate for her. So, in her room, devoid of anything else, she stood alone to see the light creep onto the city’s streets, solely responsible for it’s existence. Without her, they were lost, and completely nothing, just fools who lived under another fool’s law.
Light fought the dark, and finally, dawn broke. Across the horizon of Elares came new plans, huge plans. Melina was quite happy to be their benevolent mayor. She was executing the will of the people by transporting those criminals to the capitol. They always wanted for her to remove the prisons and free the people inside, that is specifically why she campaigned for it in her reelection. Melina did exactly what they asked, she freed them from damnation in the Elares prisons. She giddily poured another drink and watched the reflection of the city expand, refracting its silhouette into something better. For her own pleasure. And taking another sip of the drink was just another dip into the pool of greed she created for herself from the tears of others.
For a second, emptiness left the room. But it always comes back, starving for more. Melina knew it.
₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊The 14th Day of Writemas₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊
Well y’all, officially it’s been 10 days since I joined this challenge! Absolutely insane that I committed to something for once. It’s like a Christmas miracle…or dare I say, a writemas miracle! Haha okay that was too corny, if you want to see the rules and invitation to the event here is the invite post and here are the prompts I will be using today! If you would like to still join, our lovely host is still adding late additions to the taglist. Everyone is welcome! If you just wanna chill on this break season and read creations for writemas then I highly encourage you to check out the invite page and look through other folk’s work and spread some love and holiday cheer! XOXO
Prompts used:
Dialogue: "Leave this place. Leave me. I have had enough. I cannot endure another moment with you, so please, I beg you, leave."
Setting: A (stone) wall of thorns
I don’t know if anyone caught it yesterday but I actually had Perci with Nilus and Melina(although I forgot to tag her oops, it’s fixed now though)! It’s like a crossover episode. Now yesterday I focused more on Nilus and Perci, so today I will be focusing on Perci and Melina. Yay!
Read about the WIP here!!
Enjoy today’s stuff!! <333
------------------------------
Perci gazed deeply at the stone wall at a safe distance from him. He smiled to himself, feeling the nice feverish heat radiating from the magical rocks. It had been a week and a half since he looked at his winter coats, or even snow for that matter. Oh, the spoils of war. Mom exaggerated so much about Haukrosen, it’s very nice here. He thought to himself, tracing the gaps between where the stones laid down atop each other with his eyes. Perci was very eager to get his time’s worth of the bustling, yet warmly inviting city before they had to leave on their mission a week from then.
Deciding that looking at the walls that towered over the capital like an insane person was not enough, Perci walked back inside of the castle his assigned Queensman and crew were in. He walked across the halls, admiring the beautiful architecture of the place. After a while of walking he saw a room with the door cracked open, with a strange kind of green light slithering out of the opening. He pushed the door open more to peak in, allowing it to creak wide open. Leaning on the smooth wilthstone edges of the door frame, he peeped in.
Inside, there was just a lone woman in the room, dressed in a long robe, working on something peculiar. She had dozens of different kinds of plants and equipment surrounding her. Creatures in cages lined the walls behind her. Some of the life she had in there to be imports, expensive ones at that, as Perci hadn’t seen anything of the like in Pytharios before. He was sure she was their Herbalist, since she had the coordinating colors to the division, but she never, ever spoke to anyone— other than reporting to the other Queensmen, of course—, so he couldn’t know anything about her for sure. Now, he has a chance to talk to the mysterious woman.
“Uh, hey there! I guess we haven’t ever formally spoken together, one on one, right? So, moving on to my point here, um, I’m not so sure of your family name, I might have heard it from Queensmen Hyde but I just want to be sure of it. It’s Harrier right? Like the family that started the city Elares? My family traveled there once, when my dad was around, that is. We definitely couldn’t afford a trip like that now.”
He could hear her swallow hard as she glanced up from the large book in her hands.
“Yes.”, She finally answered, although pretty shakily.
Perci took a step into the room with her, taking his hands off the archway of the room, “Oh, well then. That’s really interesting to know.”
Silence overwhelmed the room again, as the woman absentmindedly went back to finishing her work.
Another enthusiastic question appeared in Perci’s head, “Hey, didn’t they originally establish the city to hold prisoners there? Well, y’know, not anymore. Since, last time I heard of it, they tore the jailhouses down. Right?”
“The prison is still there, believe me.”
Perci nervously laughed, not sure what exactly she meant by that, and carried on with the questions, “Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought they didn’t have another daughter”
“I am her.” She said in a monotonous distracted tone, almost as if she was dismissing him from speaking altogether.
“Oh, I thought you overtook the city’s government, I didn’t think you would leave from such a good position like that. I mean, also, you just don’t seem a whole like her. She was quite the active person when I was there last.”
A quick noise of acknowledgement came right after Perci spoke that last part. He could tell she really wanted to change the subject, for whatever reason. Breathing in deeply to start over fresh, He tried to do exactly that.
“Wow! I sure haven’t seen anyone use…whatever that is, to do…whatever you are doing.” Perci awkwardly said, trying to break the ice with this strange woman.
Melina simply ignored him, still busy combining various strange herbs and substances in the pot before her. Nothing he tried seemed to break the ice again.
“Where did you learn how to do all of this? There was nothing remotely close to this in the academy! This stuff is absolutely remarkable!”
Again, no answer came.
Perci noticed as he came closer to her she was making some kind of wellness potion. It was bizarre, he hadn’t known of anyone in ages doing this.
He tried to strike up conversation one more time, trying to help the older woman out, “Why can’t you just use magic? This kind of stuff is archaic! Magic is a much quicker and easier way to do all whatever position you are trying to make.”
Melina breathed in deep, “You give to make, child.”
“I know, but I don’t see the harm there, you don’t have to use your own life force, that would be just silly. You can always just use these plant’s lives here, they won’t mind it. You already are using them in another way, it shouldn’t be any different. It’s simple science! Anyone with life can use magic, so that means you can get magic from anything alive.”
Regret set in the moment he said that. He could see the intense feeling of anger settle into her skin in real time. The hairs at the back of her neck stood at their ends as she slowly turned around to face the young boy, her long, white coat whipping around a second after her body did. She slammed her book shut, sending echoes across the room of the loud bang. The wise lines on her face wrinkled further as her face shifted to pure yet quiet anger.
"You think I don’t know that? I—No, no, no. I can’t take it anymore, this is too much. Leave me. I have had enough. I cannot endure another moment with you, so please, I beg you, leave." Melina exhaled out, only snapping out of her usual trance-like demeanor for just that moment, then quickly returning back with tears in her eyes.
“I’m sorry, but go on, please.” Melina said with sorrow filled words.Did I say something wrong? Perci thought, trying to analyze her odd behavior to the question. Even though it was an odd reaction, Perci realized he definitely overstayed his welcome with her. So, respecting her wishes, he left without another word. But still, as he walked back down the halls, he wondered why she was so adverse to a great thing like magic.
Well howdy there!! It’s the 7th day of writemas today! Here is the invite post and day 7 prompts! We are so close to the double digits. I can already feel the holiday spirit coming inside me <3.
BTW ITS STILL THE 7TH FOR ME IM NOT LATEEEEEEEEEEEEE but i make up for it with many many words hahaha i hope its worth it!
Prompts used:
Feeling: The bite of the cold
Dialouge: "Can we fix this?"
Setting: The dead of night + A staircase
Today is Melina’s day to shine! I kinda yapped in this one oops lol
Read about the WIP here!!
Enjoy!!! :)
------------------------------
“Can we fix this, please?” “Oh so it’s we now? What’s there for me to do Melina? Go on, tell me. I was quite sure that you were the one neglecting me. Kissing me with the same lips that said I was dead weight for you, holding you back or something! On the same night, mind you!“, her tone rose to a scream as she finished her words, each one hitting Melina with a new kind of bite as they flew out.
“Kim, please. Don’t be like that.” Melina’s lips quivered, concealing the words she spoke into whispers.
“You wonder why you are so alone. You were stepped on all of your life, Melina. No one could just take a moment to appriceant you hard work and truely amazing greatness on display. A child so neglected of such basic love from her loaded mommy and daddy. How sad! So now as an adult, you want to have control. What does a girl like you do? Start a business with daddy’s money! Next you get into many so relationships to show off you still got it! But then you mutate. You turn into just using people to get what you want, and throw them away like garbage, like they never meant anything. You can’t be stopped, you must have it all! All of the fame, the glory, the money, the power. But nothing’s ever enough, no? You got it all, achieved it? But you still wanted more. You were unsatisfied. So, with your glory and family name you use that to get with the ‘most powerful and magical’ girl in town. That’s one more thing you didn’t have and you wanted it. You wanted to use me to pay for some kind of power trip to be on the same level as everyone else and to have me finance it. ” Kim shakily yelled through tears flowing down her face, gasping for “Well guess what? This time you got arrogant, you bled her dry before she was hopelessly devoted to you and she got smart, fast. You can’t be finish with me anymore. Oh, how I hope that makes you just hate me for this. I am leaving you to rot in your miserableness, that you couldn’t finish your goal of becoming the best. But you never will be, you’ll always be beneath everyone. Good day, Melina. Enjoy life with those other greedy slimeballs in the banquet hall, because that’s all you’ll even meet again and all who you deserve to meet. It’s a party after all. Reap what you sowed.”
Kim trotted away from her, and out the golden doors of the Harrier estate. Melina sank to her knees. Then her feet. Then to the stairs where she laid silently sobbed as she watched her now ex-girlfriend walk away from her. She threw her face into her hands and massaged her eyes as she bawled, not caring how her makeup smeared to her white velvet gloves. Her long, pale blue dress and trailing draped across the stairway.
After a long while of party guests stepping on her dress and over herself to get through her, Melina picked up her now muddied dress and pushed herself out of the same doors that Kim left through hours before. Confronted with the bitting cold air immediately when the doors opened, she persevered through the winds and snow with the same determination and vigor that lead her to the confrontation. Yet, each of Kim’s hurled insults still replayed in her mind as she look at her shiney, but newly scuffed shoes. She held her arms together to combat the chilly air and the emotions simultaneously, physically feeling it seep into her skin.
The cold of the night brushed against Melina’s exposed skin, running a cold shiver across her body. Of course, the one night she ran away from it all, she had to be wearing her thinnest layered dress. She held out her arm to call the carriages over and hopped into one, giving directions to the capital.
~~~~
Eventually, her carriage made it’s way to Haukrosen. In the dead of night, with nothing but her clothes on her back, Melina walked past the gates and into the town. She found herself infront of the recruitment center in the main part of town square.
Melina swallowed her tears down. Somewhere where I couldn’t possibly be tied down by anything, she thought, smearing the tears off her face and grinning, How convenient that all of my prayers have been answered this night? She walked up to the station that was filled with towering men, their ages ranging from young adult to nearing death, their faces illuminated by the oil lamp posted by the side of the road. Hesitantly, she cleared her throat politely to get their attention. With all their eyes on her, she neatly stacked all of her important papers together and set them down, asking to join the cause, knowing full well there already was a draft days prior yet unsure if she could even be considered for a position, considering her lack of magic.
After a while of checking papers the man in the front spoke, “It says here in our records you never graduated from, or ever enrolled in the academy. Most recruiters would laugh at you on your way out of here just for that. Go home, girl.”
“Please, you have to just look further. I am a valuable asset to the Queens’s army. It is true I didn’t go to the Queen’s Academy for Young Learners of Magic, yes sir. Also yes, I don’t have the documents needed, but you should also realize I’m part of the Harrier family, surely that will mean something to you? Please, I can’t take it anymore. I need t
The man’s face didn’t budge when he heard her family name mentioned.
“It’s Queensmen, ma’am, but even if you knew that I don’t think you would have a better chance of getting in. There is no way we can take you in to the Queen for the trials, she would think we are pulling her leg or something.”, He shook his head at her and contorted his face into a frank expression.
“Sir, please.” Melina begged, “I can hold my own.”
“I’m not so sure about thi—”
“I have a mastery scores in swordsmanship, martial arts, and academia in the top school in Pytharios—Uoabin, in Haukrosen but, not the Academy, of course—. I was excelling where others failed.”
“Well you are still certainly underqualfi—”
“I can heal people.” She smiled.
“Well then, I’m sure we can put a good word in for you, Queensmen Harrier.” He winked at her as he folded up her score papers and academic records and shoved it in his coat pocket. “Sounds good to me”, She whispered, her smile growing warmer by the second. It’s time for a fresh start.

happy sts (unday 😅)
What is the ONE THING your character(s) need right now? What’s the one thing they DONT need right now?
<3
Happy (very late) sts(unday lol)!!! Thanks so much for the ask @seastarblue!! I'm going to respond to this for Melina this time. So, one thing that Melina desperately NEEDS right now is a break. Like my girl works her ass off healing people (WITHOUT magic, I may add) and gets almost nothing in return. She is very overworked so I think she should get a well deserved break sometime (might or might not actually happen hehe). Something she definitely doesn't need is another romantic relationship or basically "another person to drag her down" (her words not mine), She has had a very long line of terrible relationships that she felt just held her back from her destiny. I got to hand it to her, she is quite the determined person, but this might not be the way to go. Like at all girl..
<3 <3 Once again. thanks soooo much for the ask!!!!! Have a good day/night!

ʚɞ ~The Bone-Binder’s Covenant Masterpost~ ʚɞ
(it’s not 100% done yet please don’t kill me)
Genre & Themes:
Dark Fantasy & Adventure; Finding yourself, finding your group, what defines success, justice, abuse of power/gaining power by deception, greed, friendship, deceit and true loyalty
Synopsis:
After many failed attempts to neatly fit in within the ranks of the Queensmen, Aerlyra Ghorne retires to the cold barons of northern Pytharios, where she has the dangerous job of harpooning fish and selling her catches at the market and scraping by on the measly profits from her fish. Not much of an upgrade. One day, after a hard night from work, the Queensmen Guard shows up at her door. The Queen desperately needed Aerlyra in the capital for a secret conference. Aerlyra joins them immediately, leaving a life of smelling like fish and meager wages behind gladly. She feels she has purpose for herself now, like life has a set direction for her. All she has to do is follow it. When arrived in the capital Pytharios, the Queen gives her the mission to save Pytharios from the evils of the Bone-Binder. The Bone-Binder, who had agreed to stay away from the living world of Pytharios in exchange for land in the far east and representation in the overhead Council of Khri, has broken his covenant when the world was at peace for 100 years. Pytharios is in danger now. Everyday, more and more people go missing, or worse, come back mangled from the Bone-Binder using their bodies and soul to create his reanimated army to get the power he lusts for. Diplomacy hasn’t worked in negotiations with him, and now Aerlyra is chosen to fulfill the Prophecy to stop him for good. Set with her team of elite warriors and found family, she intends to do just that.
