Ava, she/her, 22Proshipper.BBC Sherlock content. Cats. Holmes brothers content. Mycroft stan. Not Mary positive. Anti Eurus. John critical, especially of John's actions in s4. I try to be a safe space for shippers of all kinds, so all posts even mildly critical tend to be tagged anti (insert ship name) and (ship name) critical.

I can’t wait for the day Martin Freeman is nominated for an Oscar and the clips from all the other nominees’ performances are of them crying and/or screaming as is typical, but his clip is just his character not saying a word as he does all his acting through his eyes and everyone else is like ‘damn, he’s got it in the bag’

No surprise to anyone paying attention: a new report in The Telegraph today confirms the BBC’s blatant bias against Israel, with skewed coverage since October 7th.
People consume this news like it’s coming from an impartial source— clearly, it’s not. The real question is: how much longer will we tolerate biased reporting that fuels hate and distorts the truth?
Were you surprised? Let me know

Unpopular opinion
But I don't like the whole "you claim you want more complex female characters? You guys couldn't even handle [insert female character name]." thing.
Guess what? Every single complex character in a piece of media gets reduced to either
My Innocent Poor Baby who Has Done Nothing Wrong and Hating Them is a Crime
versus
Despicable Evil Reprehensible Villain Whose Stans are Actual Criminals
Every single one.
If someone can't handle her,
if people can't agree if she's The Madonna or The Whore,
whether she deserves redemption or death or jail,
if there even exist something for her to be reedemed for...
whether she needs saving or even deserves to be saved...
It means you have done something right.
Yes, people will hate her. People will be misogynistic. People will call her a bitch and a slut and a whore. They will want her to be brutally raped and killed.
They will put impossible standards on her while they will give her in some cases even less complex male counterparts second and third and fourth chances.
That's not okay. It shouldn't happen. But it does.
Unless you have a plan to get rid of all of the world's sexism and misogyny, which I am all ears on, with no sarcasm whatsover,
it will continue to happen. That's part of being a woman.
The solution isn't to write less complex female characters!
The solution isn't to idolise these characters and erase their flaws and make shit up to like about them that isn't even there in the text so you can avoid accusations of misogyny.
The solution isn't to point fingers at real women and claim they are making up reasons to hate fictional women.

Then one of Mycroft's men forgot to bring the fancy shoes he was supposed to bring and had to buy this pair of sandals at the local shops.

We never did get to see Sherlock outside in his sheet and sandals…

Yes, the Heyes thing was American (the Sherlock fandom on Tumblr that I have seen is majority young Americans interacting with some people from Europe like Sweden, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Germany...). I believe Britain had the Thatcher and Reagan administration doing their own censorship?
But basicallly, there was no one in the office other than them, no other workers leaving/getting dressed. Presumably the real reason was they just got finished with a meeting and stayed behind. There was no reason to have them putting on coats here.
People interpreted the card thing (the ones who believed they had sex) as if Mycroft had just wanted casual sex and was confused Lady Smallwood wanted more. Also some people head canon Mycroft as having body dysmorphia and/or an eating disorder, so it was speculation that he just "whips it out" quickly in order to not take off all of his clothes.
What is so different about our interpretation of "Or any woman" line in TEH with the brothers is to me that was Sherlock low-key shading Mycroft. Saying he had never had a woman speak to him in a romantic context to me was a previous hint Mycroft might indeed like women and Sherlock was saying his big brother was a huge loser who cannot get a woman as a joke.
I was also saying Office Sex was ooc for Mycroft, so nice to be validated there. I can't see him doing that. He would at least rent a discreet hotel room.
Also chef's kiss on that last line :)
Writing Series 4:
Ananda Abbington & Martin Freeman: *having problems in their marriage*
Moftiss: So guys guess what we based Series 4 on
.
Moftiss reading Doyle canon: Mary Watson. Mary Watson is the key character.
.
Mark Gatiss: I am gonna be the only straight guy in this show.
.
Amanda Abbington: It's nice to come to work, it gets stuff off of your mind.
Moftiss: It would be terrible if art imitated life.
.
Moftiss: So in the end, in order to redeem John, we will have him think about fucking Sherlock through a projection of his late wife Mary, whose death has traumatized him, all while texting Sherlock's sister whom he met randomly.
Martin Freeman: Are you sure this is going to redeem him?
Moftiss: Yeah
MF: I am so glad this is the last series
.
Martin Freeman: Look, I can't see that pompous prick again in my life, get over with Sherlock quickly.
Moftiss: Our choices have consequences.
MF: What do you mean?
Moftiss: We recently realised you would be perfect as a villain.
MF: ...... I play Dr Watson.
Moftiss: Your point being?
.
Moftiss: Moriarty's character was way more successful than we expected.
Andrew Scott: This is awesome, guys! So what's in for me in the new one?
Moftiss: First things first, how's your chooing game
.
Steven Moffat: What if the viewers can tell that Redbeard was a boy who was drowned 1 hour before Sherlock figures it out?
Mark Gatiss: Impossible, Eurus is TOO clever.
.
Benedict Cumberbatch: So who initiates the Johnlock scene? Martin or me?
Moftiss: Amanda
.
Andrew Scott: So will it be explained that I was madly in love with Sherlock and was obsessed with him and couldn't live with the thought of him being with John instead of me?
Moftiss: It will be explained... but in a sisterly kind of way
.
Show: *starts filming*
Moftiss: STOP!
Moftiss: We should add a Mary scene here.
.
Mary Watson: This show is not about Sherlock and John as humans, it is strictly about the cases.
.
Also Mary Watson: Ma bois
.
Mark Gatiss: Wait!!!
Steven Moffat: What?
MG: Did you add a quote here about Eurus being an era-defining genius, beyond Newton?
SM: Shit, I almost forgot.
.
Mary, from the heaven of assassins: You may kiss the groom.
.
Benedict Cumberbatch: So will I have the ending line? Or maybe Martin?
Moftiss: ...Amanda
.
Rupert Graves: Hey guys I have been enamoured with Molly Hooper since Series 2. I wonder if that will lead anywhere?
Mark Gatiss: What would you say about taking care of Mycroft?
RG: I'm sorry?
.
Louise Brealey: Will Molly ever move on? For real?
Moftiss, bringing a coffin to the set: Oh haven't you heard?
.
Martin Freeman, reading the TLD conversation script: Okay have you figured out anything yet?
Benedict Cumberbatch, next to him, doing the same: ...No
MF: I guess I 'll just rely on intuition then
.
Martin Freeman: Okay why did the Woman know when Sherlock's birthday was but John didn't
Moftiss: Just say the fucking line
MF: ............. Happy Birthday
.
Andrew Scott, visiting the TLD set: Did Martin replace me in the role?
Moftiss: Okay have you practiced your clock sounds or are you wasting our time here being the smartass?
.
Una Stubbs: Okay but why do I call Mycroft a reptile?
Moftiss: Just say the fucking line... Mrs Stubbs.
.

What if there was a zombie apocalypse but instead of complete anarchy or military control the Earth got overtaken by a Capitalist who is also a human-looking alien from outer space and he saved/recruited people based on how useful they were to get them to work for him so their lives would be spared and also tried to use zombies as cheap labour?
