I was looking up songs Mark has written bc I am starved for Mark content and now I wish I didn't because I found out Mark freaking wrote and licensed a song called Gag Me and I am losing my mind. Gag Me. Mark, you're killing us.

I was looking for some . . . stuff online and I suddenly came across an interview with Mark that I’ve never read before. 

An excerpt:

[The Art of Doing Nothing is] epic, euphoric guitar-pop, pondering life, its purpose and mortality, Owen dressed as an astronaut for the single Stars, while The End of Everything (as gloriously atmospheric as Doves), declares, startlingly, “somewhere in this sweet, sweet century, we will die together”. He’s been thinking, a lot.

“Feeling, more than thinking,” Mark corrects. He’s always been, mind you, a space cadet, merely contemplating harder the cosmological truth that we’re literally made of stardust.

“It’s all true!” he suddenly erupts. “It’s a massive realisation. It’s wooooooow! Even being sat in this room, that’s amazing. Forget all the crap around it. We’re two human beings in a room that some other human beings built. Who put lights up there [begins patting everything around him]. Water that other human beings have bottled. Chocolate. A hat. A phone from China. We’re…choom, choom, choom, zooming away, passing each other, it’s all coming from… nothing.”

And another:

He doesn’t mention his music. Does it matter to him if this album does well, if it’s seen as a good piece of work? He doesn’t need, surely, any approbation, anymore, from anyone.

“Oh, it’s always nice,” he twinkles. “I am joking! D’you know what matters? What matters is… is… I have no idea what matters. I know my family is where I go, ‘Whoooo’. Somebody said in a film the other day, ‘What’s the greatest day in the history of the world?’ And somebody was going, ‘This day, that day’.

“And the person goes, ‘No, it’s yesterday’. And I thought, of course it is. Yesterday is the greatest day in the history of the world. Cos we had yesterday. D’you understand me?”

Definitely not that one, no.

“Maybe they said today. Ah, that’s it! Edit, edit, rewind! Today is the greatest day in the history of the world!”

I'm so excited though coz you know when Mark Owen played that intimate gig in Castle Hotel Manchester for his solo album? Well my boyfriend's band Stolen Bones is playing there next month it's weirdly a big deal for me :')

Me: wants a new Mark Owen solo album more than any album released by anyone in the world

Also me: realises that The Art Of Doing Nothing dealt with so many topics that Mark went through personally in the years preceding TAODN that he probably doesn’t feel an artistic need to release a fifth solo album because he’s already said everything he needed to say that he couldn’t otherwise address on a Take That album

I got to see the amazing, beautiful underated man on his solo tour on the opening night in Bristol and honestly it was everything I needed (even if it did make me regret missing taodn tour). I cried, I laughed and I sung my heart out. It was my first time ever going to an opening night of a tour and I was amazing and I was just an emotional wreck and if I am honest I still am! I didn't get much chance to listen to the album before but I completely fell in love with it and with him even more. When the photos of him and Emma came in at the end of my love it just killed me, he is just so so pure. And I know none of this makes sense but I just needed to get some of my emotions down
