An update on Erato II
Good morning, everyone! Co-editor T.C. Mill here.
This is not the update I would like to make, but after serious consideration, it feels like the best option for the editorial team and the fairest for the writers waiting to hear back from us.
At this time, we are not going forward with the anthology. This is because of a variety of health and other personal matters among the editorial team, enough to make the prospect of editing and releasing a book this year overwhelming. We've been reading submissions and whew, there are some wonderful stories you've sent us! But we don't feel able to do them justice with the time and energy we currently have available. Nor do we want to keep writers waiting any longer.
So we're going to release all submitted pieces and cancel publication plans for Erato II. In addition to this official announcement, we'll also be sending out emails to this effect over the next few days.
What this means for NSP: In the long term, nothing bad! You may have noticed this blog is posting less frequently; that's another effect of the more limited time and energy available, but we intend to remain active, keep our previous anthologies up for sale, and put together more anthologies in the future. These future anthologies may be smaller and more tightly focused, and we'll aim to be more strategic with scheduling (and hopefully more lucky). It's even possible we'll give Erato II another go someday. Now is, alas, not the right time.
To everyone who submitted: Thank you for sharing your stories with us! We wish you the best in submitting them elsewhere. The world deserves to read your good smut!
Again, we'll be sending out submission response emails with this information over the next few days to reach everyone who might not see this blog announcement.

Latest interesting Mormon history find:
Apostle George Q. Cannon (the balding man with the white beard seated in the center of the picture) and fourteen bishops, all imprisoned for polygamy at the Utah Territorial Penitentiary. The photo is from November 1888. There are quite a few photographs of various combinations of imprisoned polygamists taken at the "Pen".

[cw for some fairly bleak stuff about people using "cute" as a substitute for genuine human kindness]
"I wrote a novel about a family's emotional breakdown when the wife becomes a girl after surgery, and at the end of the book her father, a doctor, finds her and realizes what the true cause of her illness has been. It's a happy ending, but also a bleak one, where she's finally happy in the best way she can be, but she's tethered to this life, where she will never again know happiness."

Purchases through Bookshop.org support independent bookstores and the affiliates whose shops you select books from. New Smut Project editor T.C. Mill has a shop, from which all earnings are invested in NSP to cover things like paying authors. If you’d like a print copy of any of our anthologies, this is a great place and time to order them!

Magnum PI 2018 Whump Recs
Nine Lives Syndrome by radioshack84
Magnum’s clients and acquaintances expect him to be invincible, and he does his best to oblige, but once in a while life catches up with him. A whumpy extended ending to 1x07 “The Cat Who Cried Wolf” wrapped in a sick fic.
by Chrisii
Ocean Blues
“I’m fine.” Thomas seized the scales and hoisted himself up with a barely stifled groan that had Rick almost yelling for another harness before the other was pushing at his ass, hurrying him up. If it weren’t for the fact that Magnum would surely lose his white-knuckled grip until the harness was lowered, Rick would have remained firmly where he was.
Rick didn’t even manage to towel his face dry before all the warning bells went off in his head even louder than before. The warning gave him just enough time to turn and witness Thomas swaying before his knees buckled.
Bruised Not Broken
Tag to 1x05: After the case was wrapped up, Rick and T.C. notice that Magnum was hurt a bit more than he actually let on and it is up to them to nurse their friend so that he can make it to Mak's game.
Also, Magnum and T.C. actually talk.
"“I bet you just grumpily walked up to him, and then grabbed him around his middle and gave him this massive bear hug and swooped him right off his feet, didn’t you?” Rick walked up to Magnum, demonstrating exactly what he had just explained (much to T.C.’s humour and Tom’s almost petrified look), and was utterly unprepared for the strangled scream that Magnum let loose before going utterly limp in his arms."
Somewhere to Stay by dickgrysvn
Later, when she looks back on it, Juliet Higgins is going to agonize over every single moment leading up to that one horrifying second, and pick apart each little thing she could’ve done to avoid it. But the truth of the matter is, that’s going to do her no good in the end. And it doesn’t even matter right now. Because right now, the only thing that matters is that Thomas Magnum is bleeding out onto Robin Masters’ floor, and it’s entirely her fault. —————— What if Higgins had noticed it was Thomas much too late??
{AU tag to 1x11, Nowhere to Hide}
By IceQueen1
Once Bitten
Rick and TC find out that Juliet has been training the dogs to attack using Thomas's clothes after he's accidentally bitten when she's not around to call them off.
It does not go well.
Crash
Katsumoto and Magnum crash in the mountains on their way back from scoping out a drug ring. Katsumoto thinks concussed Magnum won't be too much trouble, and is so very, very wrong.
All That Grace
Juliet spots something odd while waiting in Magnum's living room. Perhaps she doesn't know Thomas Magnum as well as she thinks she does.
 Wrong Side of Heaven
After an anything but run of the mill convoy run, Magnum, Rick, TC, and Nuzo find themselves on the hunt for an elusive and possibly fabled terrorist known only as Jahangir - World Conqueror, or by his CIA alias, the Jinn, a terrorist who is rumored to be behind some of the most devastating attacks in the Kunar province. Command doesn't believe one man could be responsible for everything attributed to him, but the guys find out that evil rarely has its limits.
Prequel to the series, dealing with how the guys were captured and imprisoned by the Taliban for their year and a half, and how they wound up having to save themselves. Warning for future chapters: descriptions of violence inherent with being a POW for over a year by terrorists.
Bad Things Happen
The collection of my Bad Things Happen Bingo card on Tumblr. Every chapter will be the fulfillment of a prompt/square. Parts may wind up incorporated into other, longer fics, depending on when they happen. Every chapter is a complete story though, so it's posted as a complete work despite me adding to it on a regular basis.
Chapter 1: Wound that Would Not Heal Chapter 2: Locked in a cage Chapter 3: Withholding Medical Treatment

Greatest Classic War Movies of All Time (The Ultimate List)
There's no denying that Hollywood loves to depict stories of war, gruesomeness and all. Although these films are often brutally violent -- and sometimes scary -- there is value in watching media that shows the cruelty, humanity, and nuance of war. The films on this list range from the terrifying experiences of lone soldiers and grueling rescue missions to heartrending love stories and savage battlefield encounters.
What gives the best depiction of the days of war? What describes the best stories related to the great wars that tore nations apart? The classic war movies DVD are the best representation of war stories we love to watch. The age-old colors, acting, and high-octane drama from the top artists of the contemporary era are what you need to plan a movie marathon. And the language is simply something which cannot be found today at all!
Families can use these movies to discuss topics such as the long-term effects of war on fighters on the front lines as well as on the people they leave behind, the motivations behind engaging in war, and who gets to be portrayed as the hero when war has ended. These movies can also be a great way to reflect on important holidays such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Not quite ready to dive into this tough topic yet? Check out Movies That Inspire Courage for more approachable picks.
Choose the war movies for sale you admired for years. Now is the right time to add them to your collection.

Steatite Ceramic Grinding ball and Media - Jyoti Ceramic
Steatite is a magnesium meta silicate compound made from selected grade soapstone, china clay, barium carbonate and other chemicals in its residue. Raw mix composites range from wet milled to fine particle size. The composite slurry is dried in a microprocessor controlled spray dryer to form homogeneous free flowing spherical particles. Such granules are compressed at high pressure compaction in T.C. Molding tools in axial or isostatic automatic compacting presses.
Tumblr media
The pressed mill lining blocks and grinding media are sintered in a natural oxidizing atmosphere in a gas fired high temperature furnace at a temperature of about 1350°C to  forming an impermeable, vitrified, hard, non-porous, dense hard material. Due to its mechanical strength and other relative properties, statite ceramic has been found to be the most suitable ceramic composite for ball mill lining and grinding media.
The true value of mill lining and grinding media is calculated by the length of hassle-free service in relation to mill production. Our Steatite Ceramic Grinding Balls are renowned for their excellent quality, optimal milling results and long service life.
Jyoti Ceramic's steatite grade HF 82 ceramic composite corresponds to German steatite ceramic grade KER 221. It is low damage, alkali free, hard, hard and dense ceramic.

Shadows At Dawn Reprint Goes Live
Tumblr media
Every world starts with a simple idea.
The Tales Of The Frontier universe began in 2016 with a short story called Shadows At Dawn about two cowboys roaming a dark fantasy landscape.
The publisher who took a chance on this short story was Aurelia Leo and I wanted to thank them again for choosing to republish the story in a new anthology.
Uchronia: An Anthology Of Alternate Histories & Alternative Worlds is a collection of weird and wonderful stories from writers who think differently and have the balls to put themselves out there (my blurb)
The official blurb is:
Uchronia: An Anthology of Alternate Histories & Alternate Worlds features twenty cosmic, uncanny, and macabre fantasy and science fiction stories.
A marine navigates close quarters in his wheelchair and the threat of joblessness due to mechanical men. Gremlins battle a bounty huntress in the Weird Wild West. When the Soviet Union invades Mexico, a U.S.-Mexico war veteran rallies Samalayuca refinery workers to fight back. Onboard the Current of Eagles, a disabled Native-American pilot confronts prejudice and radio warfare. You are a lone radio jockey after the apocalypse.
Curated by award-winning editor Zelda Knight, this collection of reprints will transport readers to diverse retrofutures and realms beyond their imagination.

The Best Carding Machines Available in India Today
Carding machines are the mainstay of any spinning mill as they are used to -
eliminate impurities
mix the raw material more thoroughly
reduce the blend down to the size of a fibre web and then break it down into rovings that meet the number, which can be fed into spinning machines.
However, before we get to carding machine, we need to know how they operate. The carding process is a mechanical procedure that separates fibres and cleanses them to form a continuous web or sliver for further processing. This is accomplished by moving fibres through alternating surfaces covered by "card clothing", a solid, flexible material surrounded by metal pins. It breaks down blocks and unorganised clumps of fibres and aligns them so that they can be in a parallel line with one another.
Let us look at some of the best carding machines available in the Indian market by A.T.E. group, one of the top textile machine manufacturers.
1. Card T.C. 15:
Truetzschler T.C. 15 offers a competitive edge due to its high productivity, quality and low operating costs. It's flexible and allows for fast lot, flats and carding changes.
Tumblr media
The compact T.C. 15 is similar to other Truetzschler cards and features the longest carding section in the market - ensuring high product quality.
Benefits:
Best quality because of the longest carding section in the market
Flat guiding special toothed belts - quick and easy flat replacement without tools
Reduced maintenance
Lowest operating costs
2. T.C. 12
In 2016, Truetzschler T.C. 10 carding machines were launched. There are currently several thousand of these cards in India. The T.C. 10, with its unique value-adding features, has won the hearts of the spinners of the country in just five years.
Tumblr media
The T.C. 12 is the successor of the T.C. 10, and it enables spinners to improve their quality, productivity and efficiency. Carding machines need to be taken care of to deliver exceptional quality and high productivity. Setting up and maintaining them is crucial, and the T.C. 12 allows for less operator interference and maximises availability.
Benefit:
Productivity and high quality through a high precision carding gap device (PFS40)
High reliability and low maintenance at high speeds
Simple and intuitive operation using state-of-the-art SmartTouch
Save up to 2% on good fibres when you use W.C.T.
Maximum capacity with T-MOVE 2. Up to 15% more content thanks to the new filling function, T-MOVE 2
3. T.C. 19i
The T.C. 19i is the most advanced carding machine in the textile industry. The T.C. 19i has three main components:

It was very exciting to be part of the 2023 Seattle Erotic Art Festival dealer's room! A full 50% of the stock of Cunning Linguists was bought out, way more than I expected. Now that the festival is over, I have some extra copies of various books I've written and edited. Help me clean my shelves? If you want one, they can be ordered on Gumroad:
Erato: Flash Fiction
Cunning Linguists: Language, Literature, and Lechery
Kinky, Queer Love: 4 flash stories by John Theriac
Soft, Sharp, and Tender by T.C. Mill (signed copies available)

So, I’ve been reading Kill Creek by Scott Thomas // OKAY SO, admittedly I did not have high expectations for this book when I first added it to my list. I thought it was going to be a generic run of the mill haunted house story and to be honest, it does flow like one. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad book, however. With equal parts psychological horror and supernatural horror coming together, this book kept me hooked enough to finish it within a matter of days. The characters are kinda one dimensional at times, but they’re likeable enough to where you can see yourself finishing the book, which is good because this book is long.
The story follows the perspective of four different horror authors, each fading into varying stages of irrelevance. We start off with Sam, an author with a troubled past who can’t seem to find his footing when it comes to getting his next book started. He finds himself approached by the mysterious Wainwright who claims he wants to do an interview with him, an interview that will bring his name back into the mainstream and hopefully stall for time as Sam looks for new inspiration for his new book. Little does he know that this isn’t all Wainwright has in store for him. He and three other authors: T.C. Moore, an author whose works are gory and graphic and wildly sexual, Sebastian Cole, the epitome of the classic horror writer, and Daniel Slaughter, a Christian horror author who focuses more on short stories where evil never prevails, have all been invited by Wainwright to spend two nights and be interviewed in the Kill Creek house while being live-streamed. The house, with a tragic past of it’s own has become a local celebrity in its own right, with it being known for being haunted. Spooky things ensue.
The book bounces back and forth between characters between both paragraphs and chapters but it’s always very easy to follow. Almost like a Netflix movie you turn on and can still follow even if you aren’t paying that much attention to it. I don’t like giving ratings because I always feel like I’m either being too liberal with my rating or too conservative, but I think I can confidently give this book a 4/5 stars. If you like supernatural and psychological horror, I think this would be a good pickup. If you read this, lemme know how you like it! I’d love to hear different opinions about this book!
[trigger warning for child abuse and domestic violence, this books gets kinda heavy with it toward the middle and end of it]

Are we able to submit under a pen name? How would that be done?
T.C. Mill here! I feel very strongly about this because I write, edit, and publish under a pen name myself: You can and should feel able to submit under a pen name to any publication without ever needing to ask for permission. There might be a handful out there that prefer "real names" or legal names or whatever one wants to call them; there might even be a tiny handful of unreasonable types who try to deny the use of pen names, but those publications need to specify in their guidelines that they don't allow pen names because they are the exception. (And confessing you wouldn't publish George Orwell, or George Eliot, or George Sand, just to pick some famous pen names with "George" in them, seems like a major self-own).
The reason I did not write directions for using a pen name is because it is such a standard part of writing - in any genre, but perhaps especially erotica - that I didn't think it needed to be specified. Most authors who submit to us use them, in fact. As for how they do it:
Shunn's Standard Manuscript Format (Short Stories) shows the "real" name (in the example, William Shunn) as part of the contact information in the top left corner of the manuscript's first page, and the pen name/byline (in this case, Bill Shunn) under the title of the story. Some authors instead write "Legal name w/a pen name" (Eric Blair w/a George Orwell) in the top left corner, with "w/a" for "writing as". If you're not using Standard Manuscript Format - it's not required to submit to us - just make sure your byline, under the story title, is the name you want it to be published under.
You can sign off your cover email using either your pen name or your other name, whichever you prefer to be called by -- I'll generally use your sign-off to address you in my contact with you. Some authors sign off with both -- "Sincerely, Eric Blair w/a George Orwell" -- in which case I'd reply with "Dear Eric." If Eric would prefer to be George in all writing-related communications, just as I prefer to be T.C., he can sign off as "Sincerely, George Orwell."
if your legal name is your deadname, you definitely do not need to use or include it in your submission; it may come up when payments are made for accepted stories, but will be used to the minimum extent necessary.
