Skyhold's gardens offered a warm and comfortable respite from the stone battlements he usually stood on during times he wasn't conducting other business or dealing with shameful looks regarding the warden's intentions or secrets. Morrigan's presence had also turned out to be a strange comfort, having someone who knew him ten years prior almost anchored him to the earth, made him feel grounded in a way he couldn't explain, and especially not to her.

Was it so wrong that missed Morrigan's blunt nature? Leliana was around, but she was far too busy, and so different from the person he had known, Morrigan was just the right amount of familiar that he couldn't deny offering her what he hoped was a pleasant smile in greeting every time he took his walk amongst the elfroot and flowers.

Today however apparently the two of them decided to talk and while he liked how much she hadn't changed, he also marveled in the changes in her that were apparent, and how they mirrored the own differences from the young man he once was.

The body remembers even when the mind forgets and Mercy and Augustine were mutually obsessed across two lifetimes and ten thousand years, even when they became warped versions of themselves…Augustine must have theorized this, remember when he says “thanks for confirming that theory” to John in H9? He must have wondered what their lives were like before 😭

And John’s greatest weakness is how he craves power and attention (the horrors of love) so he didn’t question finally getting what he wanted in dios apate major and minor…which means Augustine and/or Mercy must have realized John’s craving for their love/attention at some point…GOD!!!!

Oh my god I just realized they died together pre-resurrection and then as soon as John kills Mercymorn, Augustine immediately tries to sacrifice himself to kill John 😭😭😭😭💀💀💀💀
