Ask me about my OC lore.

Lualisin Deol is a master manipulator with an affinity for using magic to edit the memories of her victims, and has managed to lie her way into maintaining much of her social standing despite her own hatred for Drow society's rapid societal progress.
Aisling, her estranged daughter, has an Intelligence stat of 8 and a Wisdom stat of 10, and isn't about to let that stop her from ruining Lualisin's day.

This line from Frankenstein is probably my favourite quote from anything, ever. I had to put it with Ash, because... yeah.

Remaking the journey of Aisling photoset because I made a very minor change to her design and now the whole thing’s outdated AAAAAAAAAAAA.
It is, as before, very long.

Aisling Neamhní, the Right Hand of Death
Tumblr media
Yet another comrade of Freya, Kallista, and Raxes.
Name: Aisling Neamhní (pronounced Ashling Nyavnee) Age: 27 years Species: Drow Gender: Female Sexuality: Lesbian Class: Warlock (Hexblade)/Paladin (Vengeance) Alignment: Lawful Good Primary Attributes: Charisma and Strength
 - Aisling has a cold, intense, and unflinching countenance, and often comes across as merciless. This aura belies a passionate heart, an oft-reckless judgment, and a fiery temper.
- Her teeth and fingernails are naturally sharp- Being a subterranean subspecies of elf, Drow are naturally adapted to subsist on only meat and fungus.
- Aisling is a member of the Order of the Grave, an organisation dedicated to the worship of the Raven Queen, Goddess of Death. She was drawn to the Order through similar means to Kallista, having spent her childhood surrounded by injustice and coming to believe that Death is the only manner in which all are truly equal.
- However, she chose to focus on becoming a soldier for the Raven Queen, tasked with hunting down and destroying Undead, and the Necromancers that create them. She was trained by a powerful Hobgoblin named Tharla, and instilled with an unrelenting but rather narrow loathing of undeath.
- As a Hexblade, her attacks key off of her Charisma stat rather than Strength or Dexterity. As such, her movements in battle are more akin to a choreographed dance than normal combat discipline. She remains constantly in motion, wielding her massive sword as if it were lighter than air.
- As elaborated in the post about Kallista, she and the winged Tiefling are partners, assigned to work together by the Order. They quickly became friends, and Aisling found herself drawn to Kallista’s honesty, warm heart, and strength of will, and also her huge biceps. Despite herself, she’s kind of a disaster where buff girls are involved.
- Aisling almost didn’t get a chance to tell Kallista how she felt about her, as she was killed by the rising Archdevil, Heremus Fellborn. Fortunately, Kallista revived her and the two have since decided to spend as much time together as possible, because they don’t know whether they’ll see tomorrow (but don’t worry, they definitely will).
- Kallista refers to her as “Ash,” and the nickname sticks with the rest of the protagonists. In turn, she refers to her partner as “Kal.”
- She tends to act without thinking or fully considering the consequences, and is well-aware that Kallista often needs to serve as her impulse control. This led to her becoming an enemy of the party for a short time, with painful consequences for them all.
- Despite this, when she’s truly in the mental zone, she takes the form of a patient and efficient predator, capable of stalking her targets until she can exploit an observed weakness. This even extends to the way she moves- Her measured and precise movements are more akin to a Rogue, and she often appears to be just a dark blur.
- Her wings are a part of her body, obtained through the same ritual that gave Kallista hers. Upon completion of this ritual, she was bestowed with the title “Valkyrie.”
- Like all Valkyries, her sword is a shard of the Raven Queen’s own blade, Terminus Est.
- ‘Aisling Neamhní’ is not her birth name. She was born under the name Sylic Deol, the daughter of Lualisin Deol, matriarch of a once-mighty noble house. Lualisin’s power came from the Deol mines, which were run on slave labour, a practice that her daughter found abhorrent.
(A note: Drow in Arturium aren’t the same as they are in standard 5e lore. They used to be, but the current queen has been reforming the society and abolishing slavery. This has badly impacted House Deol, and their standing in Albion has slipped severely, as Lualisin tries to hide her operations from the queen.)
- As a teenager, Aisling began to act out against her family, and sparked a bitter rivalry between herself and her older brother, Vertezar. Though Lualisin tried to rein her in, she failed. Fearing that Aisling’s actions would attract the attention of the queen and expose House Deol’s dealings, Lualisin disowned her eldest daughter and exiled her, leaving her with the name “Neamhní,” meaning ‘Nothing.’ Ironically, while this was intended as a cruel insult, and Lualisin believed she would die alone in the Underdark, Aisling considers this the only good thing her mother ever did for her.
- Aisling chose her new given name at some point after making it to the surface, but before she joined the Order of the Grave. Among the party, she only told Kallista, though the others would eventually find out over the course of their journey together.
- Aisling doesn’t trust easily, and has difficulty opening up to people, preferring to hide her true feelings and nature to protect herself. However, she has a genuinely loving heart, and shows unerring loyalty to those that she trusts. The only person that can get to the real Aisling without fail is Kallista, in part because she is physically incapable of keeping her mask on around the Tiefling.
- Though she was unaware of it, Aisling’s tribulations truly began because she was determined to be uniquely qualified to carry out the mysterious goals of the Raven Queen herself. It may be wrapped in an enigma, but the young Drow is in fact the Goddess of Death’s own chosen scion.
