Me recuerda a esos interminables ajustes y transformaciones de mi época de Gran Turismo. ¡Ah, qué tiempos aquellos! Primero que nada, ¿lo que es eso?! Parece que se ha escapado de un rally del WRC, algo que nunca esperarías ver en un centro comercial cerca de ti. A simple vista, está bastante claro que no se ha dejado ni un solo detalle al azar. Aerodinámica exagerada y angulosa, faldones laterales inmensos, y un difusor trasero del que prácticamente podrías comer. ¡Habla de atención al detalle! Ahora, permíteme que te cuente algo sobre el motor. Es el K14C 1.4 turbo de Suzuki pero potenciado hasta los 248 CV... sí, 248 CV en un Suzuki Swift. Parece un sueño o una pesadilla dependiendo de cómo te encuentres con esas curvas cerradas de montaña. Pero, ¿puedes creer que este estupendo animal de rally está propulsado por la misma unidad de potencia que un monovolumen Suzuki Ertiga? ¡Qué locura! Aunque, debo decir que viene con algunos "quirks y features" propios. Llantas Volk Racing de 18 pulgadas, un par de asientos Bride Vios III para que te sientas realmente parte de la acción y un sinfín de medidores Defi. Casi me hace desear ponerme un casco, guantes y una bata ignífuga para sentirme como un verdadero piloto de WRC. No me gustaría dejar de lado los frenos. Para lidiar con tanta potencia, HKS montó frenos Brembo de seis pistones en el frente. Con un equipo de frenos así, este bebé puede detenerse más rápido que un adolescente hallado robando galletas. Aquí va mi mordaz opinión: Puede que este Swift modificado sea un brillante kit de coleccionista para los maníacos del rendimiento, pero también podría ser una tormenta perfecta para los incautos. The affected models are Ciaz, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6 and Grand Vitara. “There is a possible defect in one of the child parts of shoulder height adjuster assembly of front row seat belts, which in a rare case, may lead to seat belt disassembly," the automaker said in a statement. The company also stated that it has decided to recall the suspected vehicles for inspection and replacement of the faulty part, free of cost. It further added that “affected vehicle owners will be receiving communication from Company's authorized workshops for immediate attention.” Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki India had also on December 4 revealed that it may fall short of its production target of 20-lakh-units this fiscal. "It all really depends on how much they are able to produce on these models where we have the pending bookings. So, there is an outside chance to get to 2 million. However, at this moment of time, it looks like falling a little short," Srivastava said. The newly launched SUV Grand Vitara has received a total booking of 87,953 since its launch in September and currently, it has a pending order of 55,505 units. In the April-November period of this fiscal, the company's cumulative wholesales were at 13,11,890 units, as against 10,10,674 units in the year-ago period. Domestic wholesales were at 11,39,072 units during the period, as compared to 8,63,032 units a year ago. In the April-November of this fiscal, exports were at 1,72,818 units, as compared to 1,47,642 units in the same period last fiscal.
