Okay my best friend immediately found a nickname for my Rook like 2 minutes after I showed them to her. It basically went like this:

BF: Ronnie would be a good nickname for Fevronia Me: OOH YEAH I like that! Me: Honestly, if someone with that haircut says their name is Ronnie you'd be like "yeah okay that tracks" BF: I know right??? *chef's kiss emoji*

So I guess their name is Ronnie now. Longest time spent in the CC ever, followed by speedrunning the perfect nickname

Thoughts on Veilguard so far:

1) Combat is really fun actually, even if it's a bit daunting that I actually have to aim with the bow and arrow now

2) I've been pronouncing Neve's name wrong in my head this entire time, "saying" Nave as in navel and not how it's spelled. Also she's so cool, love her VA 😭🙏

3) Wasn't super into Harding in DA:I (yeah, I know) but I really like her here! She got mad at me for worrying about her tho 😔

4) The lighthouse is such a cool place for a base, love it

5) Can someone PLEASE get pepaw Varric a rocking chair with a blanket and some books to read, he's too old for this shit

6) DWARF SPECIFIC DIALOGUE ABOUT BEING IN THE FADE YEAAAAAH

Don't think I mentioned this, but playing in bed with a controller is working out really well! It's still pretty taxing so I can't really play until I'm square in the eyes, but I get a couple of hours in here and there.

I usually prefer keyboard and mouse over a controller, but I've discovered with Veilguard I actually prefer the latter. The keyboard + mouse setup just feels so clunky in comparison with this combat system, there's just too many combos and shit to keep in mind.

Didn't really have a plan when I gave Ronnie a blind eye BUT I think I have some idea of what happened

It's something he've had most of his life, and he was either born with it or it's the result of an illness he suffered as a wee bebe. Either way, his right eye is almost entirely blind, being able to perceive some light through it at most. It doesn't bother him too much though - it's just how it's always been, and he's perfectly content with it.

Over the years they've had plenty of offers from various people to replace their eye with a magical one, but they'd rather not mess with it. They've gotten by just fine in life with one eye, and they're not sure how much they trust some mage or artificer to not fuck something up.

Everyone she meets seems to think the eye and the scars on the right side of her face are related somehow, usually that they're both injuries from the same attack, but that's not quite right. They ARE related, but only insofar that her right side is literally her blind spot, and she didn't see her attacker coming before it was too late.

They do however love to just make up some new insane story every time someone asks about it though. They tried to ride a wyvern, it was the revenge of a spurned lover, they fought a dwarven berserker one-on-one, it was a freak accident during sex, they fell down the stairs and hit their head on their mother's priceless Golden Age statue.

He does this in part bc he's tired of all the invasive questions about his disability, but it's also a way to deflect and joke around about the fact that he did indeed get hit that one time, a moment that could have cost him his life had he not dodged out the way juuust in time. At least the scar makes him look cool.

Bummed out we don't have access to earrings in the Veilguard CC. Ronnie would look so fucking cool with some black, dangly earrings 😞
