Why I joined the fandom: Well, I had always been a huge fan of X-Men as a kid/teenager, so since I’d gotten the DC side of comics balanced last year, I thought... Iunno, maybe I could handle at least X-Men side of things? xD That went horribly wrong, but here I am and I’m still as clueless as when I was 9 reading Morrison’s New X-Men for the first time.

I dunno, I think Storm might be closer to the middle of the dang triangle, somewhere between all three options. People get so caught up in Serious Storm they forget about the other aspects of her personality. Storm definitely has a “McDonalds McDonalds McDonalds” side, as well as a “I’m going to keep the serious face on, but yes, we may have McDonalds” side.

oh you know what thats true. esp since the xmcu has this weird shame about letting superhero movies be superhero movies

Exactly. Like they’re trying to shy away from the first trilogy somehow and make it seem like THAT was the worst shit they’ve put out for X-Men in general. Logan worked because, duh, the comic was like that already (minus Laura but that’s obvious). OML was written to be an era where “all heroes are dead”. If they somehow think steering away from superhero movies is good because “they’re cheesy”, then my man, my gal, my pal, you shouldn’t be writing superhero stories.
