Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul have welcomed their first child and it's a boy. The announcement of the baby was made by Sumeet on 4th June 2020 who also said that they have decided to call their son Ved.  His post also described how both of them are behaving like all parents after Jr. Kaul Vyas arrived. He wrote on Instagram "It's a boy. Shall be called Ved," and further added, "Mamma and Daddy are acting cliche, smothering the child every few minutes."  As soon as the news dropped on social media, congratulatory messages came in from all the Tv actors as well as fans. Nakuul Mehta wished the couple first by writing “Vadhayiaan” followed by heart emoticons. Ekta shared a post on 3rd June 2020 for Sumeet through a video filled with memories of their wedding and holidays.  She wrote "Our world is about to change. But my life has changed because of you. I am so thankful that we get to go on this ride together. So before all the screaming and diaper changing begins, I just want to say, Papa, you are beautiful. Thank you!" In April, Ekta announced her pregnancy by writing "Proudly announcing our new project together. Introducing Jr. KaulVyas (soon) Created, Directed and Produced by US.... @sumeetvyas and I." Sumeet shared lessons from current national lockdown and human beings now have to rethink their lives which will help him in becoming a father. Actor and model Ekta Kaul has shared the first picture of her newborn son Ved. The photo shows Ved taking an afternoon nap with his dad and actor Sumeet Vyas.

Ekta shared the picture on her Instagram Stories on Monday. In it, the baby can be seen snoozing while swaddled in a blanket and resting on a tiny bed. Next to him, Sumeet is also seen taking a nap. Ekta called Sumeet ‘#1 dad’ in the picture. 

Sumeet and Ekta welcomed their first child last week. He shared the news in a post on Twitter on Thursday. The actor said they have named their newborn Ved.

“It’s a boy. Shall be called Ved. Mamma and Daddy are acting cliche… Smothering the child every few minutes,” he tweeted. Ekta had announced her pregnancy in April by uploading a picture where Sumeet is kissing her forehead while placing his hand on her baby bump.

In an interview last month, Sumeet had told PTI that the lessons from the current nationwide lockdown and the way human beings will have to rethink their lives will help him in his journey of becoming a father. “If we are not able to learn lessons from this lockdown as human beings, then this would be a failed exercise. This has happened for a reason, spend time with each other, ourselves, question how we went about things.

“How we wanted to consume everything nature had to offer without anything to give in return. That’s the biggest lesson that I’m learning. I’m sure that’ll help me as a parent when I move on to that journey,” Sumeet had said.

Sumeet Vyas and wife Ekta Kaul recently welcomed their first child and named the baby boy, Ved. The Veere Di Wedding actor has now revealed what went behind naming their son after the mythological figure Ved Vyas, known as the author of Mahabharat.

In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Sumeet said, “Long ago, one of our relatives was having a child and we were discussing names, when Ved came up and stayed with me. I decided if I have a boy, I’ll name him Ved. Since we come from the line of Ved Vyas, it makes sense.”

Talking about why they chose his aunt’s hospital for the delivery, he said, “We couldn’t trust a multi-facility hospital at a time like this. It was a normal delivery and both Ekta and Ved are doing fine.” The actor’s family couldn’t visit them at the hospital but he is hopeful they will be able to meet the child once they take the baby home. “Once we return home, we’ll see if they can be brought over to meet the baby, even if only for an hour,” he added.

Sumeet had earlier told Hindustan Times in an interview about how the lockdown allowed him to spend some quality time with Ekta during her pregnancy. He said, “The only silver lining is I got to spend all this time at home which generally I am not able to as I am usually working and travelling most of the time. So this was the time we got to spend together.”

On being asked if he had the responsibility of household chores during this time, he had said, “Luckily, we have finally got a house help who stays with us. But for initial few weeks we couldn’t get help. It was a very traumatic experience. I have never done domestic work before. But this time we had to do everything ourselves from jhadu-poncha to bartan. Cleaning the dishes is a very traumatic thing. I am very careful now and don’t use that many utensils. I won’t use a spoon unless it’s absolutely essential.”

Sumeet was recently seen in horror-comedy web series, Bhootiyagiri on MX Player. He was scheduled to start shooting for a film in London in April but the plans were halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
