Hi there. So I read your tags on an other post and thought I would give you challenge.
What were your 10 (or really how many you want) favourite locations in 2023 QLs? Can be places or buildings, or both. Your choice. Rose💜
@nothingsbetterthancoffee thank you for enabling on the clown website!! Did you have any favourite locations in this year's QLs?
I referred to MDL and so I've only included shows that started in 2023 and to keep this under Tumblr's maximum of 30 images, so I didn't include all screenshots for shared locations!
Anyway, these are my favourite QL locations from 2023:
1. Chong Nonsi Canal Park (Bed Friend, Chains of Heart and The Promise) (location) Shout out to @winnythanawin (aka @aprilblossomgirl) for our discussions about parks lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. The timber mill (Chains of Heart) I love wide angle and maximalist shots, so this location has been stuck in my mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Thai Muslim Women Foundation School (My Dear Gangster Oppa, Y-Destiny, Return Man, 55:15 Never Too Late, Midnight Motel, Never Let Me Go and My Only 12%) (location) I love that the building has specific motifs that are seen in other Islamic architecture. But also, an excessive number of chandeliers is always fun to me. (There are also far too many shared locations, so I picked only a few screenshots).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Chakngeaw Chinese Market (Moonlight Chicken) (location) Maybe it's the lanterns and the colours in the scenes, but I loved this location!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Como Metropolian Bangkok (Step by Step and Middleman's Love) (location) I described this as a Pride & Prejudice moment once. LOOK AT THE HUGE WINDOWS. That is all, lol
Tumblr media
6. 13 Coins Tower Ngamwongwan (Playboyy and 3 Will Be Free) (location) I cannot explain how the slightly dead and uninhabited vibes of this hotel appeal to me but here we are 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤷
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. The houses (I Feel You Linger in the Air) (location, location) These details are *everything*. I'm especially a fan of the windows and stained glass!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. Factopia (Pit Babe) (location) One thing about me is that I am chaotic. Look at this studio that's being used as a home. I love it lol
Tumblr media
9. These two temples (Cherry Magic Thailand) (locations) The boat is selling the whole idea for me, though I've been told that there isn't actually a boat operating in these canals anymore, but let me imagine it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. Chao Phraya Sky Park (Last Twilight and Low Frequency Pilot Trailer) (location to come) I have actually been waiting to see this bridge/park used and was so excited to see it in Low Frequency's pilot trailer, though it didn't make it to the show. THEN Last Twilight showed up for me. Thank you to the location manager of the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
11. Tokyo Tower (Shigatsu no Tokyo wa... / Tokyo in April is...) Please ignore how bad Ren looks in the screenshot. I don't care that only the base of my favourite tower can be seen. I'm taking it!!!
Tumblr media
12. Whatever this building is (Pit Babe) I mean, I AM CURIOUS about it but haven't found the location. Maybe that's why I'm obsessing a little. Just let me find the location and I will get over it. Probably.
Tumblr media
+ BONUS 13. Ikea Sukhumvit (Cherry Magic Thailand) I'm just kidding about this one, but I did google to see where it was @callipigio
Tumblr media
Tagging @blmpff, @callipigio, @dribs-and-drabbles, @telomeke because we discuss locations, or at least I make you listen to me talk about them. I'd love to know if you had any favourites/ones that I forgot to add to the list!
If anyone else has their favourite locations, I'd love to know!
Also including these collections of locations, because why not: Troye Sivan's Got Me Started and its shared locations in Thai queer media
If I were in Bangkok, I might want to... in response to @lurkingshan's ask about my favourite locations

Exploring Mini Siam Pattaya: A Miniature World of Wonders
Tumblr media
When it comes to unique Pattaya attractions, Mini Siam Pattaya stands out as an unforgettable destination. This cultural theme park in Thailand offers visitors the chance to experience famous landmarks from Thailand and around the world – all in a convenient, miniature format. Whether you’re exploring Thai temples, European castles, or famous miniature landmarks Pattaya has to offer, Mini Siam is the place to be. In this blog, we’ll cover everything you need to know, from the Mini Siam price to Mini Siam bookings and Mini Siam highlights to make the most of your visit.
What is Mini Siam Pattaya?
Founded in 1985, Mini Siam Pattaya brings together replicas of iconic structures from different parts of the world in one beautifully designed space. The park is divided into two primary zones: Mini Siam, which focuses on Thailand’s historic and cultural treasures, and Mini Europe Pattaya, which showcases famous landmarks from Europe, America, and Asia. It’s a must-visit spot for travelers interested in architecture, history, and cultural exchange, with models crafted at a 1:25 scale for a realistic experience.
Mini Siam Location and Address
Conveniently located in Pattaya, Thailand, Mini Siam’s address is:
387 Moo 6 Sukhumvit Road, Pattaya City, Chonburi, Thailand
The Mini Siam location is easy to reach, and visitors can get there by car, taxi, or local transportation. It’s about a 15-minute drive from central Pattaya, making it an accessible attraction for both tourists and locals alike.
Mini Siam Timings
To plan your trip effectively, here are the Mini Siam timings:
Open Daily: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM
For an enchanting experience, many visitors recommend seeing Mini Siam in the evening when the models are beautifully illuminated. This offers a magical ambiance as the lights cast a soft glow over the miniatures, giving the Mini Europe Pattaya section a fairytale-like setting.
Mini Siam Price and Tickets
The Mini Siam entrance ticket is reasonably priced, making it an affordable attraction in Pattaya. As of the latest update, the Mini Siam rate for tickets is as follows:
Adult Ticket: Approximately 300 THB (Thai Baht)
Child Ticket: Approximately 150 THB
Discounted rates may be available for children, seniors, or groups. Mini Siam tickets can be purchased at the entrance, or you can save time by securing your Mini Siam bookings online through Thai tourism websites and major travel platforms.
Mini Siam Attractions and Highlights
Mini Siam attractions showcase both Thailand’s cultural heritage and global landmarks. Here are some Mini Siam highlights:
Wat Phra Kaew: This sacred temple is one of Thailand’s most revered sites, known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The miniature replica captures its intricate gilded spires and stunning rooftops, providing a look at traditional Thai religious art.
Wat Arun: Also known as the Temple of Dawn, this Bangkok landmark is stunningly recreated in miniature with details that reflect the real temple’s colorful tiles and unique architectural style.
Phimai Historical Park: Representing the Khmer heritage in Thailand, this historical park model gives a glimpse of ancient Khmer architecture and Thailand’s historical ties to neighboring Cambodia.
Eiffel Tower: This Mini Europe Pattaya feature brings a piece of Parisian romance to Pattaya, standing as an homage to the elegance of French culture.
Colosseum: Travel back to ancient Rome with this miniature model that pays tribute to one of the world’s oldest and most famous amphitheaters.
Statue of Liberty: A symbol of freedom and democracy, the model of the Statue of Liberty is a popular photo spot in Mini Siam.
Sydney Opera House: Australia’s most iconic structure is also represented here, adding a contemporary twist to the historic focus of the park.
Tips for Visiting Mini Siam
Arrive Early or Late: To avoid the heat and the crowds, visit early in the morning or later in the evening. The night tour is particularly enchanting, with models illuminated for a magical effect.
Take Photos: For photography enthusiasts, Mini Siam offers countless scenic spots. To capture the detailed work on each model, consider using a camera with a good zoom lens.
Wear Comfortable Clothing: Mini Siam Pattaya is a walkable attraction, so comfortable footwear is recommended. The tropical climate can be warm, so bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for protection.
Choose a Guided Tour: If you want to deepen your understanding of each model, guided tours are available, providing historical context and unique stories for each landmark.
Mini Siam Reviews and Feedback
Mini Siam reviews often highlight the meticulous craftsmanship and educational value of the park. Many visitors appreciate the opportunity to see miniatures of famous structures from different parts of the world, finding it both entertaining and enlightening. Families enjoy the experience for the educational opportunity it offers kids, allowing them to “travel” around the globe in a single day.
For those seeking a complete tour experience, many travel agencies offer the best Pattaya tours that include Mini Siam, combining it with other attractions in Pattaya for a full-day adventure.
Booking Your Mini Siam Tickets
To make the most of your visit, consider purchasing Mini Siam tickets in advance through online travel platforms. Booking online is convenient, and it allows you to skip the line and enjoy additional discounts, especially during peak tourist seasons. Read these cultural etiquette and insider tips before visiting a rooftop restaurant in Bangkok
Visit a ritzy rooftop bar sukhumvit to soak in the charming skyline. The imagination resembles a scene straight out of a movie. Before you raise your glass to toast the city below it’s good to familiarize yourself with the cultural norms and etiquette. Bangkok may have different tipping practices than your home country. There can be certain dress codes. Let’s uncover the dos and don'ts of navigating these elevated havens of indulgence.
What should I wear to a Bangkok bar?
The sky bars at Bangkok have the vibe of sophistication but the dress code tends to be more relaxed. Smart casual attire is generally acceptable at these place. If you want to enjoy a blissful evening that make sure you avoid beachwear as well as flip-flops. Also arriving at these venues with athletic attire is not a good idea. Go with comfortable clothing but it should look elegant. The idea is to choose an outfit that matches the upscale ambiance of the venue. Ladies can arrive in a chic sundress at a roof top bar. A stylish jumpsuit will do the trick to match the ambiance. Gentlemen can style a collared shirt with trousers to look fab at a roof top venue.
Tumblr media
Is there a specific protocol for ordering and enjoying drinks at a roof top bar?
There is no strict protocol per se to enjoy the art of cocktail culture. But follow some insider tips to enhance your sky bar experience tenfold. Take your time to get familiar with the innovative menu. If you are not sure about the options then ask the bartender for recommendations. They can customize your drink to suit your palate. When it comes to savoring your libation you should sip slowly to savor the flavors. Soak in the panoramic views with each indulgent moment. Drink in moderation as there is no rush to reach the bottom of your glass.
What are the cultural nuances while socializing at a rooftop restaurant in Bangkok?
Cultural sensitivity is paramount for Bangkok's social scene. Sky bars are renowned for their convivial atmosphere but you should respect the cultural norms of the local community. Avoid loud boisterous behavior because it may disrupt the tranquility of the roof top surroundings. When you try to mingle with fellow patrons think about their personal space. Embrace the spirit of camaraderie to make connections in a new city. A dose of cultural awareness as well as respect would tenfold your experience.
Tumblr media
How do tipping practices differ in Bangkok's sky bars?
Tipping is a customary practice in Thailand but the protocol can be different at each establishment. The sky bars here include the service charge in the bill. However, a small tip is always appreciated for exceptional service. You can tip if you wish to show appreciation to the sky bar staff. A gratuity of 15% of the total bill is a general practice but you can add more as per the level of service you receive.
Conclusion
When you are armed with cultural insights and insider tips you can enjoy your sky bar escapade in Bangkok. These venues offer a feast for the senses unlike any other. For an unforgettable rooftop rendezvous you can book your spot at Above Eleven. It is a top rated japanese restaurant nana.

Thai PBS World   Read the full article

Bangkok am 3. Tag

Disclaimer: In exchange for two nights, I am writing this review.  Additionally, I would like to specifically thank Ann at The Marcom Pro for helping to arrange this review, and Jern, a marketing manager at this hotel, for meeting with me.
The Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15 (though completely Marriott-owned now)is located in the Asok neighborhood of the Thai capital, very close to the BTS Asok (skytrain) station, Sukhumvit MRT (metro) station, and a short taxi ride/metro ride from the Makkasan Airport Express station. Among the nearby attractions are the Terminal 21 shopping center and significant nightlife, and the hotel is a short BTS ride away from other popular shopping malls such as Emporium, Siam Paragon, and the MBK Center.  As a bonus, the hotel offers a free tuk-tuk service to both the MRT Sukhumvit station and Terminal 21.
Furthermore, it is close to many businesses and embassies, and as such, sees significant numbers of business travelers availing themselves of the brand’s more affordable comfort.

The Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok has two wings – the Pool Wing and the Garden Wing – totaling 249 rooms and 19 suites.  Also, there are four meeting rooms with 3, 810 square feet (roughly 354 square meters); guests of the suites have complimentary access to the meeting spaces for a period.  The whole of the hotel prohibits smoking, and there is wi-fi available throughout the property.
Check-In
After exiting the Asok BTS station (closest to station exits 5 and 1), I easily found the Four Points Bangkok, thanks in part to the descriptive hotel name.  At the front desk, Mariaa and Best were nice, and briefly explained to me some of the features of the hotel, as well as the hours of the breakfast buffet.

6th Floor Corridor
I made my way up to my 6th floor corner room, though as luck would have, neither room key worked.  Leaving my bags at the foot of the door, I asked housekeeping to contact reception to bring new keys, but she at first told me to do it myself.  Sigh.  Eventually she caved in, and Best brought over the new (functioning) keys.
Room
My first impression of my Deluxe Room was one of simple comfort.  The interior was mostly wood paneling, with a sizable work desk and two large nightstands.  All rooms at the Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok have floor-to-ceiling windows, although you wouldn’t stay at this hotel for the city views.
Part of the work desk had jacks into which both USB and HDMI cables could connect to the tv, clearly a nod to business travelers aiming to finesse their presentations and/or other documents.  The minibar was well-stocked with your usual drinks and snacks, and the luggage storage shelf was conveniently placed.

The HVAC system had an easy-to-use wall panel, and one light switch at the bedside controlled almost every light in the room, in addition to offering many places to charge standard electrical and USB devices.
The bed was easily one of the most comfortable I have slept on in recent memory.  I can’t begin to describe how much of a treat it was.  I don’t take naps, but this bed makes them rather difficult to pass up.
Lastly, the bathroom had that bizarrely East Asian-quality to it, in which it opens up for a view of the bedroom…yet the shower is somewhat frosted.
My two biggest complaints were the finicky internet connection, which logged me out every now and then, and the single-use plastic containers in the shower.  However, I’m going to be thinking about that bed for a long time, especially when in China where I’m subjected to “concrete” mattresses.
The Eatery
The Eatery is the primary restaurant at the Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, offering both buffet and à la carte options.
I made my way down to The Eatery at around 06:00, but it was a bit busy even at that point.  One waiter served me both Earl Grey and peppermint tea, so the drinks were set.

My hotel contact, Jern, mentioned that the chef was particularly proud of their Thai dishes, and you know what, that food was pretty good.  Other choices included a few Japanese, Western, and Indian selections, a salad bar, omelette bar, noodle bar, fruit, breads, and yogurt.  Having no expectations coming into the buffet, I was pleasantly surprised.  Also, Meya, the only waitress who stopped by after I had sat down, provided good service throughout the restaurant.
My only complaint was that there was no “sneeze guard” to cover most of the foods.
Operating hours of The Eatery are 06:30-10:30 (weekdays)/06:30-11:00 (weekends), and 11:00-23:00 for lunch and dinner.

Hotel Pool and amBar (Stock Photo)
In addition to a 24-hour gym, the hotel pool on the 8th floor (of the pool wing) is open daily from 07:00-22:30.  Interestingly, the pool also has the distinction of being the first location for a pool party in all of Bangkok.  It is held on the first Saturday of every month.
On the pool level, there is also amBar, a cocktail bar open for dinner nightly.  If you’re craving pub food and nightly live entertainment, check out The Irish Pub Bangkok, open everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Overall, I  would stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15 again for its quiet rooms, comfortable beds, and decent buffet.  Although the immediate neighborhood is not for me, it’s convenient public transit-wise, and it’s close to many restaurants of diverse cuisines.
