Tamlin Week 2024 Statistics

Hello all! I crunched some numbers on Tamlin Week 2024, which was way bigger and better than I ever could have dreamed! All together, there were 184 submissions by 48 different creators.

Day 1 had the most submissions, with 16.8% of the total (31 submissions). Day 6 had the least, with 12.5% (23 submissions). There was an average of 26.3 submissions each day, or 14.3% of the total.

The most popular prompt (excluding the Free Day) was Heir of Spring, a Day 1 prompt, with 11.4% (21 submissions). The least popular prompt on its own was the Day 2 prompt Warrior, with 2.7% (5 submissions). However, Day 2 had the most people incorporate both prompts into their works, with 5.4% of the submissions using both Poet and Warrior.

By far, the most popular type of submission for Tamlin Week was fanfiction, with 51.6% (95 submissions). We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of poetry submitted for the week, with 9.2% of the creations (17 submissions). I haven't seen a lot of other fandom events where so many people create poetry for them, and it was such an amazing tribute to our favorite poet High Lord!

Most of the submissions (40.9%, or 79 submissions) were General Tamlin content, without a focus on ships. Again, kind of rare to see in ACOTAR events, it's so cool that so many of the creators focused on Tamlin himself! Tamlin/Rhysand (11.9%, or 23 submissions) and Tamlin/Lucien (11.4%, or 22 submissions) are neck-and-neck for being the most popular Tamlin ship submitted. Tamlin/Feyre is the next most popular Tamlin ship, at 8.3% or 16 submissions. If a ship had fewer than 3 submissions, it was lumped in the "Other" category. Some of the Tamlin ships that squeaked by with 3-4 submissions are Tamlin/Nesta, Tamlin/Eris, Tamlin/Nyx, Tamlin/Amarantha, and ships where Tamlin is with 2 or more other partners. It was super interesting to see who made the cut onto the pie chart! Tamlin/Nyx gonna be the Tamlin ship of 2025, I can feel it.

The diversity of ships for this event really is so amazing. In a fandom that seems weirdly addicted to canon, it's cool that the Tamlin community is so creative and open with what they ship!! Especially because mlm Tamlin ships are dominating the shipping chart!

Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to the creators who went above and beyond to create content for this event. With 7 submissions (1 for every day), we have @duaghterofstories, @rin-u-pos, @shi-daisy, @songofthesibyl, @szalonykasztan00, and @taymartiart. With 8 submissions, we have @achaotichuman, @booksnwriting, and @copypastus. With 9 submissions, we have @lorcandidlucienwill. And our heavyweight Tamlin Week champions are @mathiwrites with 12 submissions, and @sonic-atelier with 14 submissions!!

For the most submitted people, regardless of what trio they are from, here are the numbers!! Grian came in with a smashing first place at 233 submissions, with a relatively even and natural decline from there.

Next on our list, the most submitted for SMP's regardless of trio!

We have our top 3 SMP's, and top 3 by a long shot, with Hermitcraft alone making up more than 1/4 of all the submissions, and the Dream SMP and Traffic SMP/Life Series each taking up just under 1/5 of all submissions. It is a dramatic jump to 4th place, but a happy surprise to see in 4th, Lifesteal!! Which has more submissions than the QSMP or Empires SMP!! Congrats guys!!

And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for, here are your most submitted for trios!!!

Coming in at first place, no questions asked, no competition we have the Buttercups!! Made of Grian, Mumbo, and Scar. They have exactly 100 submissions which is very satisfying. A difference of 33 submissions between first and second! Wow!

The next large leap down is from 5th to 6th where we have the Bad Boys in 5th (Grian, Joel, and Jimmy) and Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss (Scott, Pearl, and Cleo) in 6th! A 21 submission difference there!

All trios listed in the top 25 will be in the final bracket, as well as many not seen here. We have trios in the bracket that have as little as just 3 submissions! So if you didn't see your favorite trio here, don't loose hope! They still might be in the final bracket!

So far we have 155 submissions. I really lowballed the amount of submissions we'd get and am now questioning whether keeping submissions open until the 22nd was a good idea but I'm a man of my words and will take it as such. 🫡

Most popular submissions at around 3 submissions each seems to be a character from Genshin Impact and a character from House M.D..

A lot of sources have multiple submissions for different characters each. The most popular sources are Kamen Rider, DC Comics, Deltarune, BNHA, and Zelda.

I'm happy to answer questions on specific entries as they come, still not sure whether the submissions should be displayed on a spreadsheet or kept in my pocket. v(￣ー￣)v I think I'll peruse other tournaments and see what they did and ride off that.

How many different people sent submissions?

I'm going to be honest here, but we didn't even consider tracking that.

The fact that we responded to all submissions privately means that our inbox got cleared by the simple act of answering. That plus the fact we had a number of people request anon status makes it extremely hard to track exactly how many people did submit.

I did go back and count, across the 256 submissions that made it to the final round, we have about 127 (assuming I didn't count someone twice or miss anyone) different usernames. Some of those people only submitted one thing, some of those people submitted many. I also recognize at least three different asks I remember the submitter asking to be anonymous, but I honestly don't remember anything about them (my memory is made of swiss cheese).

I'm not going to go re-count how many anonymous attributions we have but I presume we had a minimum of 130 different contributers, and assume much much higher than that. We got two different pieces that had nine submissions each, another one had 7, another one had 5, several had 4.... basically although we have 256 pieces, there's well over 300 submissions across them all.
