Subcon Babysitter Chap. 3-A New Face in Subcon Forest
Guess who’s back working on this??
So I’m excited to showcase this chapter! As I’ll be revealing a special character for you all!
Sorry, it took a while, I have WAY too much to write and with work, I just don’t know what to work on next. My mind will tell me what to work on or not.
BIG THANKS to @gigilefache for being my beta reader!
Anyways hope you enjoy the story!!
RING! RING! RING!
A loud ring blasted inside the ship, which made Ribbon and Mane jump from their beds in fear. Baretina on the other hand woke up and stretched before shutting the alarm off. “Morning girls!” Baretina sang as she jumped out of bed to get ready for the day. She skipped and hummed as she grabbed her clothes and headed to the bathroom to get dressed.
Ribbon groaned, tired of the alarm clock system Baretina and her mom installed before they left. “We need to change that!” She groaned.
“Agreed,” Mane replied. The girls got up from the ground and went to get ready for the day themselves. Once the trio was fully dressed they went over to the kitchen and got three bowls and three kinds of cereal along with milk for their breakfast.
As the girls ate their breakfast Baretina started a conversation with her two friends. “So what shall we do today in Subcon?” She asked. “I thought we could help Snatcher with his request like my mom did!”
Ribbon swallowed her food and replied to her friend. “You sure about that, I know Aunt Hattie didn’t enjoy that when hanging with Snatcher.” She replied.
“It can’t be that hard.” Baretina rolled her eyes as she ate more of her cereal.
Mane opened her mouth but quickly closed it as she was nervous to speak up her thoughts. Ribbon and Baretina took notice of this, and spoke up at the same time. “Mane.” They both said at the same time. This caused Mane to almost drop her spoon as she quickly looked up at her friends. “What were you thinking about, girl?” Ribbon asked.
Mane put her spoon down and started to get nervous over the fact her two friends put her in the spotlight like that. “W-well maybe we don’t have to do what Aunt Hattie did, maybe we can just, you know explore the forest?” She asked, a sheepish smile forming on her face.
Baretina and Ribbon looked at one another and Baretina smiled as she added to the idea. “What if we play with the Subconites!”
“Perfect!” Mane replied.
“Well, at least we got our day planned.” Ribbon added. Baretina and Mane nodded and smiled. They finished their breakfast and soon teleported to Subcon.
However, once landing in Subcon the girls sensed something was not right. They looked around and saw the Subconites hiding in the bushes. “What’s going on with everyone?” Ribbon asked.
“Shhh.” A Subconite hushed. The girls turned to see two Subconites huddled together in a bush. “You don’t want them to hear you!” They whispered.
“W-who?” Mane asked, scared wondering what was in Subcon that scared the Subconites.
“Hurry! Hurry!” A loud gruff voice shouted. The Subconites got scared and soon dragged the three girls into the bushes with them. The girls took a small peek through the bushes and Mane and Baretina gasped seeing who was lurking in the forest.
With their big brute bodies, the blue suits, Baretina and her friends knew who they were and were surprised to see them still alive and up to their evil ways. “Ugh, the mafia.” Baretina groaned. “I thought mom and Aunt Mu took them down.”
“Maybe some decided to stay and not give up.” Ribbon whispered back.
Baretina smirked and glanced at her friends. “What do you say?” She started. “Shall we take them down like our moms used to do?”
Ribbon and Mane’s eyes widened. “Are you crazy!” Ribbon yelled. “Do you remember what your mom told us about what happened with Aunt Mu and the Mafia?!”
Baretina ignored her friend and took out her umbrella which was lilac with a pale blue shooting star on it. “Relax as long as I have my umbrella we’ll be fine.” She reassured her. Baretina then came out of the bushes and stalked the Mafia.
Ribbon groaned and she and Mane went after their friend before she decided to cause trouble. Baretina followed the mafia to an area where a bunch of trees had red x’s to them. The young girl’s best guess was they planned on chopping the trees in Subcon.
“Now that Mafia has found new land to expand Mafia Town! Mafia can now chop trees out of the way.” One Mafia Goon exclaimed as he took out an ax. Before any of the Mafia Goons could chop any of the trees, Baretina showed up.
“Not before I can stop you!” Baretina shouted. The Mafia turned and their eyes widened seeing Baretina.
“C-could it be?” One Mafia Grunt asked. He scanned Baretina and gasped upon recognizing her. “No, i-it couldn’t be!?” Soon all the Mafia Goons exclaimed at the same time, “The Kid with the Hat!”
Baretina’s eyes widened with confusion. She wondered if that was her mother’s many nicknames when she was on the planet.
“Baretina!” Mane yelled as she ran towards her friend. “Please slow down!” The second Mane showed up and the Mafia froze in fear of seeing her. Confused, Mane turned and tilted her head confused seeing the Mafia scared of her.
“I-it can’t be!” One Mafia Goon exclaimed.
“I-I thought we told her to go away!” The other Mafia Goon added.
Mane was confused and frightened at why the Mafia got scared of her. “W-what?!” She exclaimed. It was loud enough for the Mafia to scream and run off.
“DON’T KILL US!!” The Mafia yelled as they ran off dropping their ax. The girls blinked in confusion.
“I don’t know what you did Mane, but that was awesome!” Baretina exclaimed.
“They looked scared of me,” Mane replied.
Ribbon put her hand on Mane’s shoulder to comfort her, and smiled at the young girl. Soon the girls heard one of the Mafia Goons scream as they were thrown into a tree. Before whatever attacked him came back, the Mafia Goon fled the forest.
Curious, the girls ran to the part of the forest and were in shock seeing the rest of the Mafia Goons defeated and slowly walking out of the forest. To the girl’s left, they saw another young girl that looked to be the same age as them.
This girl had red hair tied into long pigtail braids with daisies, freckles on her face as well as green eyes as green as grass. The young girl wore a brown shawl over a blue dress, brown shorts, and wore white sandals that had purple flowers on them.
“And never come back! Ever!” She screamed. “I hate seeing forest destroyers like you!” The young girl sighed and was about to walk away until Mane spoke up.
“Was that you who defeated the Mafia?” She asked.
The young girl looked up and was surprised to see girls her age. “Y-yeah.” The girl nervously replied.
“That was amazing!” Baretina beamed. The young girl looked surprised and saw Baretina’s hat.
“Where did you get your hat?” The girl asked.
Baretina looked at her hat and removed it. “Oh, my mom made it for me.” She answered.
“It reminds me of Hat Kid’s hat!”
“That’s my mom!”
The girl gasped. “Wait, your mom is the legendary Hat Kid!” Baretina nodded in reply. The girl squealed and hugged Baretina tight which surprised her. “I can’t believe you’re her daughter! I’ve been reading all of the Hat Kid Adventures since I was young!” She exclaimed.
“Wait. wait.” Baretina spoke up. “My mom has a book?”
“Well, no one knows who the author is, but someone wrote a series of books of ALL of Hat Kid’s adventures.” The girl explained.
Baretina, Ribbon, and Mane looked at each other, surprised that someone had written a book about Hat Kid. Mane was curious and had to ask the Subcon girl a question. “Was our mom’s in the book?” She asked.
The young girl looked at Ribbon and Mane and smiled. “If I had to guess your Bow Kid and Mustache Girl’s kids?” She asked. Ribbon and Mane nodded in reply. “Then yes your moms are in the book too!” The girl then realized she hadn’t introduced herself yet. “Oh and I’m Flora, by the way!”
“Nice to meet you, Flora!” Baretina said. “I’m Baretina, and this is Ribbon and Mane.”
“Hello.” The two other girls said at the same time.
“Hi, there!” Flora replied.
The girls took a walk through Subcon as Baretina and her friends told Flora everything about what their moms have been up to and why they are in Subcon. “So your mom’s gone on a mission and decided to leave you guys on the planet she saved?” Flora repeated.
“Yeah. It shouldn’t be long, but it’s nice to meet Snatcher for the first time.” Baretina said.
As they were walking Flora stepped on a purple roof, which then circled the girls in a dark purple aura. Soon, Snatcher appeared letting out a loud laugh. “FOOOOOOOOOLLL…” Snatcher stopped seeing it was only the girls. “Oh, it’s you, girls.”
“Hi Snatcher!” Ribbon waved.
“Oh! Hey girls!” Snatcher replied. “I should’ve mentioned this earlier, but please keep clear of my traps.” He told them. Soon, Snatcher’s eyes widened seeing Flora, while the latter looked at the soul stealer with confusion.
He couldn’t believe it. A girl who reminded him of her was here in his forest. “Y-You!” Snatcher exclaimed. However, it was loud enough to spook Flora causing her to run off.
“Flora! Wait!” Baretina yelled.

I like the idea that Bow Kid and Hat Kid got into the subcon as little kids. I sketched some stuff about it. Maybe there will be a separate au or something like that? I don't know.
Tumblr media
And I also drew a Bow Kid with a minion. This minion is like a babysitter for children, since the Snatcher just has no time to follow them.

Subcon Babysitter Chap. 2-Baretina, Ribbon and Mane
Here is the next chapter! I was gonna upload this Friday, but my dog passed away and I just didn’t feel like uploading anything the next few days. I’m doing better, but writing will be slow the next few days because of that and what I said in the last update with work.
In some good news, thank my beta reader, @gigilefache for coming up with the names of the girls. Except for Ribbon as that was the first name idea I came up with.
Big thanks to @gigilefache again for being my beta reader!
Enjoy!
Snatcher was still floating speechless seeing the three young girls in front of him. The girls looked at each other and looked back at Snatcher.
“Uh…you okay?” The hatted girl asked.
The ghost snapped out of it and cleared his throat. “S-sorry, anyways,” Snatcher changed his tone of voice. “What are you brats doing in my forest?” He asked.
“We came to see you.” The child with the hat replied.
“Huh?” Snatcher questioned.
The young girl giggled. “I guess we should introduce ourselves first. I’m Baretina.” She introduced. “My mom was your BFF.”
Snatcher’s eyes widened. “So she isn’t some look-a-like?” He thought. “So you’re the kiddo’s, kiddo?”
“Yep,” Baretina beamed, “and this is Ribbon, and Mane!”
Snatcher was in shock, seeing that the girls he used to know had settled down and had kids of their own. He didn’t even have to ask whose kids were who.  He was in awe of the girls, but the regret was still in him, realizing he missed everything in those girls' lives from their graduation, to their wedding, and seeing these new girls born.
All because he was a Peckneck.
Mane, the goateed girl, tilted her head in confusion seeing Snatcher going quiet again. “Are you okay?” She asked.
“Y-yeah,” Snatcher lied, incredibly wide-eyed, “I’m just surprised you kids even exist.” He let out a nervous chuckle. “So, what brings you girls here?”
“Well, our moms are all gone on a mission and we need someone to take care of us, so Auntie Hat told us about you and sent us here.” Ribbon explained, fixing the bow on her head.
Baretina then removed her hat and started to dig through it and pulled out an envelope. “This is for you.”
Snatcher took the letter and opened it using his claws, unfolded the piece of paper, and started to read.
Snatcher,
Long time no see! I hope you still remember me?
Listen, Bow, Mu, and I are on a very important mission and we have no one to watch our girls. You were the only person I know that could watch them. The mission won’t be long, about a few weeks or so. Don’t worry, the girls aren’t too much of a hassle. If you could handle us then you can handle them! Hope to see you soon!
-Hattie
Snatcher sighed and looked down at the girls who were waiting on what Snatcher was going to do next. “Well, guess you girls are stuck with me for a while, so I’m gonna lay out some rules.” He started. “Number one, never go near the manor!” Snatcher’s voice got louder as he pointed at the manor in the distance. “Number two, everything else is fine but you have to sign a contract.”
“What for?” Ribbon asked as she crossed her arms.
“To make sure you understand the rules, and it’s been a while since I pulled a child into a contract,” Snatcher replied, snapping his fingers as a contract popped up. It floated towards the girls along with the quill.
Baretina quickly grabbed the quill and signed her name, she then saw there was only one line and smiled as she drew two extra lines. She then gave the quill to Mane, who signed her name next then gave the quill to Ribbon who did the same.
Snatcher then took the contract and sighed seeing his contract being edited again, but he’ll let it slide since it’s three souls and  one piece of paper. “Alright, that seals the deal!” He beamed. “So now that’s settled, are there any questions?”
“Can we park the ship here?!” Baretina asked.
“Yeah, I’ll show you where to land it,” Snatcher replied. He froze realizing what he just said, but before he could change his mind the girls had beamed back up to their ship ready to land it. Snatcher sighed and whistled loudly as three Subconites came in a flash. “Get the Fire Spirits, I have a ship to land!” He told them.
The Subconites gave a salute and said together, “Yes sir!” before they ran off and grabbed the Fire Spirits.
Snatcher sighed and he pinched his temple. “Why,” he whispered, “why them! It could’ve been any kid from a different planet! Why their kids!” Snatcher turned to the photo of Hat Kid. He wiped a tear and let out another sigh. “Don’t worry kiddo, I won’t make the same mistakes.”
“Who are you talking to?” A Subconite asked.
Snatcher squeaked and turned around to face his minion. “N-no one!” He lied.
“Well, the Fire Spirits are waiting for you.” The Subconite replied.
“I’ll be right there.” The Subconite nodded and dashed off. Once Snatcher was alone again he took one more look at the photo before floating off to help the Fire Spirits land the girl’s ship.
The Fire Spirits glowed as the ship slowly landed down in an empty clearing. However, the second the ship was inches near the ground it landed with a slam, which pushed everyone back.
Back on the ship, Baretina laughed after landing the ship. “I always wanted to do that!” She beamed.
“And please…” Ribbon groaned. From the landing, it looked like Ribbon and Mane fell on each other. “Don’t do it again.”
Baretina chuckled. “Sorry.” Baretina helped her two friends up and they got off the ship. The girls were soon greeted by Subconites, Dwellers, and Fire Spirits who were so happy to see the girls arrive. “I wasn’t expecting this kind of welcome party!” Baretina beamed as she ran and introduced herself to everyone.
Snatcher gave a smile seeing the kids and his minions getting along. It was almost like Hat Kid and her friends came back. “Well,” Snatcher spoke up as he clapped his hands together, which got everyone’s attention. “If you guys want to have fun with the kids, go nuts!” He announced.
If the Subconites had faces they would’ve all smiled in sync with Baretina and her friends. Before Snatcher knew it, all of the Subconites were carrying the kids as they went off to play. He chuckled as it brought back memories of how Hat Kid and the minions would play together.
Those memories made Snatcher frown as he slowly sat down on a nearby rock, watching the Subconites have fun with the kids.
They played all day till nighttime and at that point, the kids were tired and ready to get some sleep. Snatcher was already asleep but was woken up hearing the door to the girl’s ship open. He saw them walk in and decide to follow them.
Snatcher’s eyes widened as the ship reminded him of Hat Kid’s ship from the colors, to the layout. The only difference was there were two extra doors leading to Mane and Ribbon’s rooms. He decided to check on Baretina’s room first and saw the young girl in her pajamas looking at a framed photo.
“Hi, kid,” Snatcher spoke up.
Baretina looked up. “Oh hi Snatcher.”
He floated on by and he smiled seeing a photo of Hat Kid, all grown up and holding her daughter. Snatcher saw how much Hat Kid has grown. Her hair was now short, and now wore a purple trench coat and dark brown boots. He smiled seeing how much his little girl has grown.
“Do you miss my mom?” Baretina asked.
Snatcher’s eyes widened, but he couldn’t hold it in any longer. “Yeah, kid. I do.” He replied. Snatcher sat next to Baretina and put his arm around her as they looked at the photo. “You know, you look just like her when she was your age.”
“I get that a lot,” Baretina replied.
It went silent between the two as Snatcher had to think of what to talk about with the kid. “Did you know your mom and I had a fight?”
“Yeah. You stole her soul and hat and battled it out.”
Snatcher snickered. “Your mom was one tough negotiator but she was still a kid, sweet, silly and had one big imagination.” He explained remembering Hat Kid. Everything he thought of felt like yesterday.
“I wish she was still like that,” Baretina whispered. Snatcher looked down at the young girl as she snuggled closer to him. “She’s been getting busier and busier every day, and she doesn’t have time to listen to what I want to talk about.” She explained.
Snatcher frowned and anxiously thought that it was his fault that Hat Kid became that way. Though seeing the photo made him realize that Hat Kid is a good mom, just a busy one. Snatcher was about to speak but heard Baretina snoring as she fell asleep.
The soul stealer felt his eyes swell with tears remembering the nights Hat Kid would sleep with him like this. He held the young girl close to him as he slowly closed his eyes. “Night kiddo.” He whispered.
It felt like forever since he said those two words.

Subcon Babysitter Chap. 1-Deja Vu
NEW AHIT STORY!!!
So I came up with this story one day in the AHIT Server about a Time Skip AU where Hat, Bow, and Mu leave their kids with Snatcher while going on a mission. It got my beta reader and my friends interested so I started planning the story during my breaks at work, and boy you guys are in for a ride!
From the planning process there is SO much to offer for this fanfic, and I hope you guys like what’s in store.
Thanks to @gigilefache for being my beta reader!
Enjoy!
25 years have passed since Hat Kid and Bow Kid came to Earth, recollected their Time Pieces, and defeated Mustache Girl, who later became her best friend. They stayed on the planet for a bit before leaving to go on a new journey with Mustache Girl in tow.
Everyone missed the young girls, except well maybe one. A particular ghost that ruled over a forest shrouded in darkness.
Snatcher sighed as he read one of his old law books. It was a relaxing day, which was quite rare in Subcon. No trespassers in the forest, all the Subconites have done their duties with no problems, and there were no troublesome little girls running around and causing trouble.
Snatcher frowned and turned to the wall that was filled with drawings and pictures of Hat Kid, her sister Bow, and their best friend Mustache Girl. He let out a sigh as he grabbed one of the last photos he took of the girls.
It was on Hat and Bow’s 11th birthday and they were told that they had to head back home as they were at the right age to be mentors for the future kid travelers. However, they didn’t want to leave just yet as they wanted to celebrate their birthday with their friends on Earth, which as they said, "the council agreed on."
Bow even asked if Mustache Girl could join them as she had no home thanks to the Mafia banning her from Mafia Town for good. Even though the council didn’t want an outsider, The CEO of time, Tim decided to allow it after hearing her story.
God, Snatcher remembered that day:
“Hey Snatcher?” Hat Kid had asked. Snatcher turned to the kid as he cleaned up the table from the birthday party that just ended. “When I’m gone are you gonna miss me?”
Snatcher scoffed. “Do I look like the kind of ghost that will miss you, kiddo?” He asked.
“W-well, You took care of me and Bow, and you did take Mu in for a while. Plus you’ve been awfully quiet about it so…” Hat Kid paused as she gave a sheepish smile. “Yes.”
It was silent between the two, before Snatcher smirked and broke the silence with his signature laughter. Hat Kid flinched by the laughter, despite hearing it for two years it still startled her.
“Oh kiddo, so naïve as usual. I don’t miss anyone, when they leave I move on. That’s it.” Snatcher answered.
Hat Kid started to feel a lump in her throat. “So all those times together meant nothing to you?” She asked.
“Nope. In fact, since you're leaving this planet forever, I believe our contract is done.” Snatcher snapped his fingers as he put a stamp on Hat Kid’s BFF contract as it turned to ash.
The alien child’s eyes widened as she felt her heart break. She stepped back from Snatcher as she fought hard to hold back tears.
“Oh o-okay.” Hat Kid choked off. Before she could cry in front of Snatcher, she quickly teleported back to her ship.
Snatcher finally got all the dishes gathered and he turned around to see if Hat Kid was still standing there only to see she was gone. He didn’t feel guilty for what he did…yet…
All Snatcher knew was Hat Kid might come by and say goodbye to him tomorrow before she blasted off to space and went back home.
At least that’s what Snatcher thought…
The following day, Snatcher came out of his treehouse after seeing that Hat Kid wasn’t here. A trio of Subconites sighed as two were kicking a stone around.
“Why are you three so glum?” Snatcher asked.
“The kid…she left.”
“Yeah. That’s why we had that party last night, remember?” Snatcher reminded them.
“No boss!” The 2nd Subconite yelled. “I mean she left without saying goodbye.” Snatcher felt his nonexistent heart drop.
“W-what?”
“She said she’ll be here for a little bit to say bye and give gifts, but she didn’t?” The 3rd and smaller Subconite questioned.
Snatcher breathed heavily. “N-no.” He whispered. Quickly he left and went to look for the kid. Snatcher was thinking Hat Kid had to be somewhere on this planet and just forgot about Subcon because of…last night.
Once Snatcher made it to the clearing his eyes widened when he couldn’t see Hat Kid’s ship up in the sky anymore. “No. No.” Snatcher whispered as she sank down. Hat Kid was gone, for good and the last thing he did was say that he never even cared.
Snatcher didn’t realize he was crying until he saw tears fall onto the picture. “Kiddo, I miss you. I’m so sorry for all the things I said.” Snatcher whispered. He wiped the tears off of his face. “I just wish I can make it up to you somehow, to all of you.” He put the picture down and slowly went back to his chair and read his book.
“Boss! Boss!” A subconite yelled.
“WHAT!?!” Snatcher snapped back causing the Subconite to skid to a halt.
“W-we got some new v-victims that fell in one of your t-traps.” The Subconite stuttered.
Snatcher’s eyes widened as a smile formed in his face. “Well, what are we standing here for! Let’s go!” He beamed as he dashed out of his home in a flash. The ghost dashed through the forest sensing where the new souls were located. There he saw someone struggling to break out of the trap, Snatcher chuckled and with a swipe of his claws the trap broke as a few yells were heard falling from the trap.
Soon the atmosphere changed as Snatcher grew bigger as he let out his chilling laugh. “FOOOOO…” Snatcher paused as he felt his eyes widened. If he still had a stomach he would’ve felt it drop just now.
From the trap we’re three little girls that looked strikingly familiar. The first girl was a blonde haired girl with a small goutte on her face, and a star hair clip. She had golden eyes and wore a long sleeved red and pink shirt, brown shorts and scarlet shoes.
The other little girl had dark skin and dark hair which was tied into a bun with a big indigo colored ribbon and had deep purple eyes. She wore a big blue shirt and wore a white cape tied into a blue ribbon and wore black pants and boots.
The last little girl was what made Snatcher tear up. She looked short brown hair and wore a yellow and white top hat and had ocean blue eyes. She wore a yellow and brown steampunk vest over a white blouse with a medallion with an engraved hourglass on it brown pants and brown boots.
“Oh my Subcon.” Snatcher gasped as the biggest wave of deja vu smacked him in the face.
