Session 1: The Angel and the Dragon
Date: August (also known as Eleasis) 28th, 1494DR.
Time: Early Evening
Characters: the Little Light (LV3 Battlemaster Fighter) Persil the Small but Mighty (LV3 Beserker Barbarian)
A young woman by name of Little Light searches the Greenfields for word of her parents, whom she was separated from at a young age. On her journey she stumbles across the town of Greenest, a quaint medieval village of timber-and-cobble houses, a rotating windmill, and a keep in the center of the town. Exhausted by her long journey, Little Light goes to sleep on a grassy hillock beneath a tree, where she rests her head and begins to dream.
In her dream, she sees a scene of carnage playing out before her. Giants of all kinds rampage through the North, leaving trails of destruction up and down the Sword Coast. Hill Giants, wobbling with excess fat and flubber, devour halflings and humans alike, plundering farms and villages of food. Stone Giants rampage, turning civilised homesteads into sinister standing monuments. Frost Giants hunt and kill the peoples of the sword coast for sport, and Fire Giants father swathes of slaves beneath the blazing cracks of their whips. Yet still, towering above them all are the Storm Giants, who stand furious and thundering at some unknown offense. Higher even than these, Little Light hears a furious roar, and her eyes widen as she lays them upon a furious Azure Dragon.
A voice causes the young woman to wheel around and there, standing behind her, is an angel, shining with radiant light. He is Tadriel, her guardian angel, for Little Light is an Aasimar- a chosen warrior of the gods.
“What do you see?”
Little Light doesn’t know how to respond.
“The Giant Ordning- their caste system- lies shattered by their gods, and now the North will break beneath the weight of their fury. Travel up the Sword Coast, and quell this threat.”
And with that, he disappears, leaving Little Light to awaken with horror as the same furious roar from her dream echoes over the Greenfields.
Greenest is being attacked by a dragon!
On the other side of the town, a different conversation is playing out. Two blue half-dragons speak, surveying the now-burning town. One of these dragons is Langdedrosa Cyanwrath, and the other is Persil, the small and mighty (A.N: can you tell it was his first time playing D&D? 😝). Langdedrosa speaks in a deep, heavily accented voice.
“Look at the tiny people, brother! Whose turn is it to crush them, and who shall command?”
Persil volunteers to go, and Langdedrosa steps out of the way and extends his hand.
“By all means! Go, my brother- be strong, and do not fail our mother!”
His charge is met with the same furious roar from above, as Iymrith the ancient blue dragon breathes lightning down upon Greenest keep.
Little Light wanders through the burning town, searching for survivors. As she approaches a crossroads between four houses, she hears panicked screaming. She runs towards it’s source, and finds a small family staggering away from a gang of eight Kobolds (A.N: a Kobold is like a tiny pesky wingless dragon goblin) and their leader: Persil the half-blue dragon.
Realising she is outmanned, Little Light acts on instinct, takes a deep breath, and lets it out again, activating her Action Surge (A.N: this ability lets her take two actions in a row). With one action, she grabs the two small children, and with the second, she hightails it alongside the woman, who introduces herself as Linan Swift, and her husband Cuth. Hotly pursued by Persil, the small group make their way to the keep. They pass several storehouses and a windmill, giving them a straight sprint towards sanctuary. Against all odds, they avoid arrowfire and make it to the fort, where they stagger over the drawbridge as it is in the process of being raised, leaving Persil and his growing force of Kobolds to siege the keep from the outside.
Once inside, Little Light takes stock of the situation. The place is in a shambles, with families crying over the loss of loved ones, and the town guard’s faces as white as a sheet. She hears a whispered word drift over to her ears: “we’re going to die here”.
Behind her, Little Light hears to voice of Tadriel, who constantly hovers invisibly- and imperceptively- close: “These people have no hope. It is up to you to give it them”.
Nodding, Little Light searches for the highest ranking authority figure- governor Nighthill, an elderly man quite unequipped to deal with the situation. He brings Little Light to the top of the fort, where several archers await the onslaught of the dragon’s fury, but they can’t hold for long. Even now, Little Light can see Iymrith’s colossal form wheeling in the dust-choked clouds above. She’s about to ask Tadriel what to do, when governor Nighthill offers a stifled gasp. Little Light follows his gaze, only for her own eyes to widen in fear. Governor Nighthill lets out a parched whisper-
“They’re torching the mill. Even if we survive tonight—“
An eleven guard by his side says “Governor—“
“Even if we survive we’ll starve—“
“GOVERNOR, GET DOWN!” The Elf shouts as he tackles Nighthill to the ground.
Above, Iymrith the dragon is descending.

Finally getting around to posting an update. What with the new job, lack of Internet access at said job, I have not had the time to do much writing. But I have been running the game for the boys. So here is where we are. The boys are almost out of the first portion of the adventure.
This has been a fun mix. The boys are having fun. I am enjoying running the pre-made adventure. I have to say it…
