Lily and Nathan are competing at the Denis Ten Memorial this week, and Layla and Alex will be at JGP Ljubljana in Slovenia. i should know this, but i had to look up Kazakhstan on the map to really place how far it is. flights from Toronto to Astana are at least 19 hours with a stop in Europe (looks like they had a layover in Poland, from Lily's stories). the IAMO teams have had 3 competitions in Europe already with 3 to go before the end of October. you really can see the world a few days at a time when you compete at this level

the lineup for Denis Ten is exciting in that there are a lot of teams here where you don't know exactly how they'll stack up against each other, with some intriguing debuts. this historically is a really high scoring event. the Taschlers, Davis/Smolkin, the Mrazeks, Lim/Quan are the teams coming in with the highest scores or rankings at Worlds. also the Browns, Dupayage/Nabais, Van Rensburg/Steffan, Flores/Desyatov

someone did the math for GP alternates- these are the teams below the ones who were guaranteed spots. the alternates who’ve already received an invite are noted. feds don’t have to invite in order as there are other factors like the team being their country’s only representative (like Pinchuk/Pogorielov), or if they’re a host pick

US seems to be waiting on summer competition results to decide their SkAm host pick. F/D and W/T are the top teams without a Grand Prix
