How do the big bois feed themselves? Do they need a human to survive or do they have methods of hunting for meat/ digging for coal
I think of it as overall more along the lines of a 50/50 thing where engines need humans for some operations but not everything. Most can pretty much eat almost anything to keep themselves energized, human food included as a safe option. You can technically hand-feed them but the practice isn't too common considering that even well-socialized individuals may still have the tendency to get mouthy with people.
Method-wise, their boilers are segmented and may bend around in whatever direction to a certain extent. The dangerous part to this is that they may try to lunge at stuff past their bufferbeams, which is rare but possible. Some engines have evolved to fight and/or prey on other engines. Their canines and claws are designed for damaging through hides and gripping firmly on rails when on the verge of derailment respectively.

Hello, LGBTQ+ community. Theatre Gay is here to be... well, theatrical and of some unknown flavor of not-straight.
Housekeeping! Big thanks to @legallymean for helping me with his backstory, and an equally large thanks to @thenotorioushmk for all the kindness about this entire au, since we've been going wild every single time we get a new pic. Can't wait for when I can finally post some of the writing-- just need to find the right time...

While Maestro, otherwise known as "Al" by his friends and rival, is better known for his musical pro-shoots at Cooking Cat Studios, he's also the co-host of Chopping Board, a fun little series he and Cooking Cat have been making for years where they try making terrible recipes and drag their co-workers (Stationmaster and Goofy Mafia mostly) into testing it whenever they can't stand to taste it themselves. He's had a taste of first place, once, but he seems to be content with second... most of the time.
As kids, he and the rest of his team used to live in Subcon, and they were still relatively close to each other then, living in a town nearby the one that Princess Mu used to frequent. Al was frequently sent over the hills to sell his family's pasta, and since he was a bit older than the kids there, he tended to bully them a bit. He lived to regret that, with the burn scars to prove it, and though he personally isn't ashamed of his scars, he is self-conscious about how they make others feel, and only sheds his mask and glove on rare occasions.
Out of the two directors at Cooking Cat Studios, he's the more approachable, especially if you ask his cast. Through all these years and movies/musicals, they've always had his back, and he trusts them with everything he can. After all this time in second place, though, it's hard to imagine that he'd be happy with another silver award. Maybe that gold a few years back wasn't just a fluke...

petition to celebrate Let's Kill Arceus Month every September /j
I'm okay btw! just staying home and taking care of the house and our pokemon while she's. y'know.
i tried to stop her.
now I can only wish her luck and a safe return. thank you for increasing her chances even sightly of surviving.
i am 100% on board with this petition
and okay - i was worried, but i didn't want to ask her, since shaking the resolve of someone on their way to kill a god - not a great idea. gives the god further ins to the psyche, you know.
if it helps - often figures here who die after or while doing great things are deified. not in the same way, i'll note - think more like landorus, though more minor. if she doesn't return, i'll set up a shrine to her.

I have been to Tama's station!
Tumblr media
Nitama, current stationmaster and high priest of Tama Daimyojin:
Tumblr media
The first Tama has been enshrined as Tama Daimyojin, the goddess of the railway line, and has an entire museum train dedicated to her (it's fancy) as well as the normal Tama Train (cute as hell). I no longer feel like I'm overreacting in my grief over Mimi. This is how cats should be remembered.

A Drabble
So the lovely people in the Stupid People Server (a Stupendium fanserver) came up with an AU for The End Of The Line video with a Harpy!Stupes, including a couple OCs. Me, being the horrible demon I am, gave everyone a major character death 500 word drabble (there is no other fic content for this AU.) I figured people might be semi-interested on here, because you don’t need to know the AU that well to read. Hurt no comfort, mentions of blood, mcd, angst, the works. You’ve been warned :)
It was so cold. The Stationmaster stared up at clear skies, stars shimmering brightly. Ironic, considering their current situation. It was times like this they wished that they hadn’t cast away their name, that they hadn’t taken the god-forsaken train gig, that they refused to join the cult.
Oh, who were they kidding. The Stationmaster knew that their future was set in stone. All tracks end back up at Charles if you were on Aranerum Island. They just wished there was time to say goodbye.
It was your fault anyway. The voice in the back of their head slithered out of its hole, curling around the Stationmaster’s insecurities with a hiss. Dan told you not to go out so late, there’s no protection out here; you’d just be another meal.
“Shut up,” they groaned.
Why would you even storm out? Kes was just joking. All Dovey wanted was to be tucked in. You realise that Owlen won’t forgive you. You abandoned everyone for your own selfish reasons.
“I said SHUT UP!” Stationmaster bellowed, bolting upright, hands grabbing at their head. The action was a mistake. A weak cry fell from their lips, as their wings curled around them.
Footsteps echoed from a distance, approaching. This wasn’t good. They couldn’t let anyone see them like this. It wasn’t safe. But they couldn’t move. The pain flared as they tried to stand. The Stationmaster was stuck on the ground, helpless as their pursuant came into view. It was Dan; none of the kids in sight. Good, Stationmaster didn’t need them to be scarred from the sight of their body.
Dan sprinted through the forest. He didn’t call out the Stationmaster’s name, it was too risky. As he turned into a clearing, he saw them.
It was horrifying.
Their wings wrapped around their body tightly as they leaned against a tree. The ground around them was soaked in blood. The wound in their stomach was still open, slowly leaking despite the Stationmaster’s attempts to bandage it. Dan ran over to them, kneeling at their side.
“Dan?” He almost sobbed at the sound of their voice, so quiet, so confused. The Stationmaster was always calm, confident, and loud. How had so much changed in just a couple hours?
“That’s right, dear. It’s me,” he murmured, running his hands through their hair.
“It’s so cold, Dan.”
“It’s okay, we’ll patch you right up and get you to a warm place. You just have to stay awake.”
“Tell the kids I’m sorry.”
“You can tell them yourself when we get home, okay? Because you are getting out of here.”
“You always were such an optimist,” they smiled grimly. Tears fell from his eyes. “It’s so cold, Dan. I just want to be warm.”
“You will be, dear. You just have to hang on. Please,” he pleaded. Dan knew it was in vain.
“I’m sorry.”
The scream that tore from Dan’s throat was terrifying. It spoke of pain, loss, regret, rage.
Dan stood up slowly, stumbling slightly as he pulled a small box from his pocket. The ring inside shined with the what ifs of his life with the Stationmaster. It didn’t matter anymore.
He was too late.

So, i learned about Tama the cat! TAMA DAIMYOJIN!!!
A cat that rose to a Stationmaster, a Super Stationmaster, a Knighted cat awarded the title "Wakayama de Knight", a Mentor, and... a Kami/God/Goddess/Deity!!!
Her little sister and mother acted as her Assistant deputys!
Her legacy extends to Okayama station with Santama, otherwise known as Sun-tama-tama!
Her original Apprentice, Nitama, is the Chief Priestess of her Shrine at Kishi Station.
20 thousand people came to her funeral from all over Japan to pay respects.
It is a shame she isn't brought up more in media, she doesn't even have any art of her, I wanna see her in her Spirit Goddess form, not some cliche cat girl goddess, just a small bipedal cat with her usual uniform made into a kimono, and a Hagoromo resembling steam forming around her, as she stands on the station platform, greeting visitors who don't see her, and watches her Successors with pride as they continue her Legacy! And Nitama, her Chief Priestess and Direct Successor, looks to her, and nods.
