Soundwave dedicated his entire life to and would gladly die for a cause and a mech that couldn’t give him that loyalty back in return, who then left him for Some guy(tm), and it’s not like he’s a bad guy either or that it’s even an unhealthy relationship between the two, it’s just that Soundwave is and was always going to be Megatrons second choice. (DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED. SOUNDWAVE DESERVES THE WORLD. HE DOESN’T DESERVE PERMEANT SECOND PLACE HES TOO MUCH OF A BADDIE)

appropos of nothing but one of the more unusual crossover ships I came up with in the past was Yellow Diamond x Starscream

for a hypothetical crossover setting, with the premise being that they represent their societies in a scenario where YD leads a collective of Gems loyal to her personally and intending on continuing to create a stable society but with her more humanistic post-series character development intact so her functionally being a moral leader instead of the tyrant she wound up being prior to her leaving her position in canon

while Starscream, in this case, leads a remnant of the Decepticons following the defeat of Megatron and the more extreme organic-hating members of the faction, leaving the more moderate ones to join Starscream, who in turn has either defected to the Autobots at this point or never particularly cared about Decepticon supremacy, and establishes an empire that is more akin to something like the Roman Empire; militaristic but not explicitly Ultra-Turbo Evil (apart from being, well, like the historical romans), dropping the organic-hating aspets in favor of making them second-class citizens living under conquest. Not ideal, but not as horrific as the Decepticons usually are

so they wind up as part of an alliance with other imperial powers, some as vassals under them (for example, YD has the Irken Empire as her subordinates and they are an absolute fucking headache) and the two of them, as having grown into reasonable figures for the most pat, strike up a connection as constantly thinking 'GOD SAVE ME FROM THE IDIOTS AROUND ME'.

(The possibility of Steven and Optimus completely independantly acting as moral exemplars to inspire YD and Starscream even if they don't want to acknowledge it is also a fun notion)

Tag 10 People You Want to Get to Know Better

Relationship status: Extremely divorced. Prowl levels of divorced. Four times! Multiple genders! Still hopeful though!  I would like to be in a relationship but probably nobody who is not a quadruped should live in the same house with me; while the other parties involved definitely had contributing issues and one was an honest-to-G-d abuser, I’m the only one who’s done it 4 times.

Favourite colour: This varies; it’s usually pink, but can also be purple and various shades of light blue, teal or peach.  There are shades of yellow and yellowish green that are deeply, almost physically unpleasant and painful for me to look at. I’m very autistic that way.

I always get the highest scores possible on those colour sensitivity tests, and was almost broken as a kid by my mother telling me I had to match colours because to my eyes almost nothing matched so I just wore whatever I personally thought looked good.  Turns out everyone other than my mother thought so too. I was really good at “matching blacks” during my goth stage.

Something I want right now: universal basic income and to quit my job so I can write and dance and learn how to draw again. Song stuck in my head: Oh No!  by Marina and the Diamonds (it’s one of my Starscream songs)

Three favourite foods: My three easiest to obtain favourites are: 1. Rib eye steak, particularly the outer part, rare but not cold. 2. Salmon and asparagus with brown rice farina and cheese. 3. Haagen-Dazs butter pecan ice cream. I’m autistic.  Other brands are close, but for me close but not quite as good is “nasty” not “acceptable”‘ -- if the brand isn’t available, I’ll get some other gluten free flavour.  Too close is deeply disappointing. Something that doesn’t sound awful can only be mildly disappointing and might be good.

Last song I listened to: “You Better You Bet” by the Who.  I always imagine Grimlock singing this to Howlback.

(He is demiro, she is aro. She loves him to pieces, but despite the fact that they are so hot for each other they fuck rather than hug hello, she has never been In Love in her life and is grateful for that because she thinks being In Love makes people of every species act crazy AF.)

Last thing I googled: 1960s brutalist jewellery. That’s what @legendtrainer, who tagged me, googled last, and I, who have only ever heard “brutialist” applied to architecture, wondered what the fuck that was. It turns out that I own a fuck ton of it, though it’s all from the 70s and early 80s. I bought it when I wanted to cosplay my Star Trek: TOS OCs.  I thought it would look like Klingon or Vulcan stuff. I wonder if the ones I haven’t taken apart and strung together with other things are worth anything.

Dream trip: I want to go back to Japan with more time and a lot more money.

Aside from that, though, in terms of practical dreams:  I was supposed to go to TF-Con LA but my brother got cancer and I bought him some of his meds while waiting for his coverage to kick in because, you know, I don’t want him to die. And his special food that insurances just don’t cover.

I know it’s not entirely like the rest of the stuff on this blog but hey, I spent awhile on that Screamer. So here we go!

The Condesce wanted an heiress. When she tried to explain this to her fellow conspirators, their reactions were not entirely what she hoped for.

“Can this wait, Meenah?” Javik said terely, his multiple eyes narrowed as he drew a fist back.

The Condesce frowned, though not at the use of her personal name (now, she heard, bequathed to a young clone she’d helped make centuries ago, back before the founding of her empire when she’d still traveled with those nomad bimbos way back when). She loved Javik, in her fashion, and in his own way, he had earned it. No, it was the denying her the chance to monologue she was annoyed with.

“Indeed!” Starscream snapped, in the form of a bipedal bird monster, though in deference to his dislike of the organic body, he was still robotic. Considering that they were all in disguise and pretending to be a party of adventurers so they could associate in peace without revealing their true relationship to the whole multiverse, it was a pretty poor disguise; Starscream made a lousy Rito birdman. “Can it not hold a moment- ow!” He was struck by a large tentacle and sent flying, cursing all the while.

The next one after the hapless robot was blocked by Yellow Diamond, who had simply installed her Gem into a fancy construct of solid gold, giving her access to her full power without having to risk her true form being recognized instantly. (It DID have the absolutely massive curves that befit her status, but that was just her pride coming through.) “Focus!” She growled.

“I don’t wanna!” The Condesce whined, stamping so that her gargantuan breasts, gravid belly and butt all jiggled like gelatin inconvenienced by a nearby sesimic event. “All of you suckers have apprentices! Sidekicks! Heirs! Kids you can hang out with!”

Yellow Diamond squinted as Javik raised the mighty Doomfist, the mega-gauntlet of legend (though it looked more like a massive armature covering one arm, a shoulder, and a good third of his body, beset with container gems holding the life energies of countless foes) and focused its psionic powers into blades from its knuckles; with a roar, he propelled himself like a rocket, right at there foe. There was a horrible bloody explosion, and then silence, but for his laughter. “Is this, a family thing? You KNOW I still have no truck with that nonsense.”

“It... has its charms,” Starscream said loftily, a robot who had fathered thousands of children in his time. Yellow Diamond looked thoughtful at his endorsement, but said nothing. the Condesce snorted; you’d think a Gem who had personally been giving births to billions of Gems all her life would at least grasp the basic concept of motherhood bond.

“I HAVE KILLED IT!” Javik screamed. “VICTORY IS OURS, AND THE FALLEN LAY IN WOE AT OUR FEET. SUCH AS THE WAY IT MUST BE!”

The Condese grinned indulgently at him. “Yeah, yeah, real good, hun. Now hurry up and help me here! Listen, listen. I want a heiress. All you guys have your heirs!”

Javik leaned in. “Ah. I would not call young Kilmonger or Ogundimu ‘heirs’, per se. I simply task them to kill me if they can, so that they may take my place if they are worthy.”

“Yeah, an heir,” said the Condesce, who had a very straightforward view of the world, one with a lot of blood on it. “But like, I want one. My first heiress, my descendant, she wouldn’t take me up on it. Same with the heiress I actually MADE for it! I still miss Janey... but, then, all the trolls I’ve bred to be my heir, they just don’t measure up!”

“Have you considered the possibility that it is YOU to blame here?” Starscream said snidely.

She punched him so hard he flew across the horizon and back; he landed in the same spot, quite unharmed despite the force. “No. But I want an heir already; I want someone to teach, someone to frickin’ talk to, someone that can kill me and take over if she’s got the stuff!”

A response came, from all people, Yellow Diamond. “You don’t say. Well. Do you recall that realm adjacent to the spirit world? Where four elemental nations harnessed the powers of spirits?”

‘I think so. Why?”

“Well, while most of them have migrated to the Endowed Fleet and their boy toys and little girlfriends in the Earthborn Coalition, not all of them did. Some have found their way into our good graces, and I think the strongest of them might interest you.” Yellow Diamond’s eyes, metal in this construct form, gleamed. “I think Phoenix Queen Azula may be of interest to you, rainbow empress?”

Am I actually gonna draw all of these characters? Uhh... probably not! But it's fun to chew on.

Anyways, the AU's not an exact 1 to 1. I mostly placed the characters where I thought they fit in SU canon because Gems and Cybertronians are kind of the same thing actually. However, some characters do have stronger correlations to certain SU characters so I ran with that.

OP and Megan kind of share the role of Rose Quartz (leaders of a rebellion fighting against the restrictive caste system of their oppressive home world, Optimus previously being Orion/Red Diamond before leaving that identity behind to be a soldier, etc). Do they split into Bots and Cons? No fucking clue! Maybe :3

Bumblebee's kind of Amethyst and Prowl's kind of Pearl and Jazz n Soundwave are kind of Garnet because when I was watching I realized she was the blueprint and probably why I'm so obsessed with those two. Shockwave for sure performs unethical gem shard experiments, the Seekers and Labrodorites as a whole function sort of similarly to Lapis Lazulis.

I've thought about weapons and fusions and caste but I haven't sketched everything yet so I'll keep y'all posted. Also! I've definitely forgotten some characters and details so if anyone has questions/suggestions, my ask box is always open :D

jasper = getaway is a good casting, both are abusers who were born to be soldiers and are ultimately defeated due to the nonsentient creatures they exploited (corrupted gems = scraplets). steven also feels pity for jasper in a similar way to how rodimus feels pity for getaway. it does kind of make me wonder how the malachite storyline would work if prowl was lapis though.

Do you have any more thoughts about the plot of your su au?

I haven’t got it planned episode by episode, and the cast isn’t 100% completed besides what I’ve posted plus that I think Connie might be Ultra Magnus? Still working on it tho, if anyone has any suggestions fell free to share. I’m not 100% on Yellow and Blue diamond (TC in a leadership position? Maybe not..) and I think I wanna make Tarn Spinel instead of yellow, but I probably will have some type of character design soon (schools kicking my ass)

I don’t have anything specific planned for the malachite arc (maybe he makes them escape together/hostage situation in a shitty shuttle and Prowl is having such a bad time with his shitty roommate he beams it right into Roddys head), but I’ve been brain rotting about Shockwave as white diamond SO BAD. The beam-loose-your-color thing is just so similar to empurata I knew he had to be White. Which brings me to white pearl, who I think is Starscream, Megatron (Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond) is and has always abused Starscream (which like, yeah PD didn’t abuse WP to the extent Megs abuses Screamer but still) Which leads to Starscream becoming Shockwaves pearl and Shockwave empurataing Starscream shortly after, Starscream also loosing his name and being called “seeker”. Eventually we’ll lead to the pearl bonding episode going on between Soundwave and Starscream, so he does get some kind of happy ending and finally gets a name. HRRGG I LOVE ANGST WITH A HAPPY ENDING.

Also the giant woman episode! Just Roddy trying to get Jazz and Soundwave to bond is cute to me. This is gonna be my mulitship hell isn’t it?

crossover ship nobody asked for: Starscream x Yellow Diamond, two conquerors fall in love and proceed to constnatly attenpt to shoot each other

they are under the impression that they have a rivalry and fight it out through proxy, they do not understand that this is more slightly positive emotions than they are used to and it confuses/enrages them

Egg inventory

Not sure what else to do, Starscream inspects all of the eggs he's yet to examine closely.

Egg #1: Pearl egg--splits apart in sections, revealing a rather large pearl sitting in the center of the egg.

Egg #2: Red and gold egg--There are circular sections on four sides of the egg, each having a number in sequential order. The meaning of the number is unknown until Starscream pries open the panels, revealing portraits of the four preceding Air Commanders until the Great War, ending at himself.

Egg #3: Blue and gold music box egg--This one has tiny diamonds lining its gold decorations and another pearl sitting at the top of it. It also splits apart to reveal a tiny pot of gold and silver flowers, but there's another surprise--the pearl at the top can be rotated, and this causes the egg to play a beautiful, tinkling melody.

Egg #4: Opal egg--creamy base color with gold designs and lined up with little tear-shaped opals and an infinity symbol in the middle. Surprising, this is the first to not actually open

Egg #5: Green and yellow egg--another smaller one colored a bright green with yellow painted swirls decorating it. This one opens up, but there's nothing inside but a smooth, yolk-colored interior.

Egg #6: Spring flowers egg: another egg in red and gold, this one with a deeper shade. It splits in half to reveal a gold basket of colorfully painted flowers.

Egg #7: Rosebud egg: A somewhat longer red egg decorated in gold and diamonds. Inside of it is a tiny yellow rosebud, and even then opens up when its petals are pulled to reveal a ruby and diamond pendant.

Egg #8: Seeker army egg--covered in filigree gold, this egg is covered in portraits outlined by tiny diamonds. The portraits are all members of his previous Seeker army, including Skywarp, Thundercracker, and Slipstream.

Egg #9: Green and diamond egg--Another green egg covered in a gold lattice with diamonds at the centr of each point. This one also has an empty interior.

Egg #10: Monarch egg--a brighter blue color covered in gold decoration. Inside this one is a little statue of himself made of silver and diamonds. He's sporting feathered wings and holding a scepter, and above his head floats a great big crown.

i like to think that the four leaders of the Ringer empires have their big conflicts and rivalries as purely a public front, and in reality they’re actually a four man band of sorts, but which role is filled by who tends to shift from day to day; sometimes you have Yellow Diamond as the one who provides the spark of momentum and is the leader, Starscream as the idea guy, Condesce as the lovable muscle who is weirdly affectionate in her own rough way, and Javik as the heart. Sometimes. if the heart means encouraging their tiffs and fights for the hell of it

outside of that, in private they tend to split into Javik/Condesce and Starscream/Yellow Diamond. With Condy and Javik it probably it probably is shippy (since her type seems to be ‘ya got spunk, sport’ and Javik is the kind of guy who actually SAYS things like ‘I am the last voice of a dead people, here to shed blood for blood that was lost!’

starscream and yellow diamond, conversely, are closer to super best friends who absolutely refuse to acknowledge or face that they click together really well and like each other a lot. they’re proud, they’re angry, they have too many years of internalized doubt and fear to be totally honest with themselves, and they’re facing down countless ages of their people having an incredibly nasty rivalry

gems and transformers HATE each other; the living machine despises the thinking mineral. so starscream and yellow diamond plot and scheme against each other, they snarl and snap and duel one another, they engage in ludicrously long term plots...

and at the end of the day, they hunch down and have a drink of liquid magic/purest homebrew Energon and enjoy each other’s company and desperately try to deny that they have found a Friend(tm)
