Đấu gậy

Đây là hình thức chơi golf phổ biến nhất trong hầu hết các giải đấu chuyên nghiệp. Trong thể thức này, mỗi người chơi (hoặc đội) chơi tất cả 18 lỗ và tính tổng số gậy. Bên nào có Net Score thấp hơn sẽ thắng.

Ngoài ra người chơi có thể tham gia thi đấu đơn hoặc đấu tay ba tuỳ vào luật chơi của vòng đó được quy định như thế nào ví dụ thông thương đối với một trận đấu đơn người tham gia chỉ được tính điểm thắng thua với 1 người còn lại và không có bên thứ 3 liên quan ngoài trọng tài của vòng đấu đó Kế đến là thi đấu tay ba ở vòng đấu này mỗi Golfer sẽ được giao một tee bóng riêng biệt và bắt đầu chơi như luật đánh Golf thông thường với số gậy đánh thấp nhất hoàn thành 1 vòng sẽ được tính là chiến thắng.

Một trò chơi trong đó hai người chơi đấu với nhau, mỗi người có một quả bóng. Hai cầu thủ trong cùng một đội thay phiên nhau đánh bóng. Một người chơi sẽ phát bóng ở các lỗ số lẻ và người chơi còn lại sẽ phát bóng ở các lỗ số chẵn. Không quan trọng ai là người đánh bóng trước. Lần lượt bắn cho đến khi bóng vào lỗ. Four-Ball (Đấu bốn bóng)

Một trò chơi trong đó hai người chơi đánh quả bóng tốt nhất của họ vào quả bóng tốt hơn của hai người chơi còn lại. Fourball có thể được chơi theo thể thức đấu đối kháng hoặc đấu gậy. Mỗi người chơi golf đánh bóng của riêng mình trong trò chơi.

Trong đấu đối kháng, khi kết thúc một lỗ, người chơi có số điểm thấp nhất sẽ thắng lỗ đó cho đội của mình và được 1 điểm. Đội có số điểm thấp nhất khi kết thúc vòng thi là đội chiến thắng.

Đấu tranh huy chương

Ở thể thức này, người chơi hoặc đội có ít cú đánh nhất trong một vòng nhất định sẽ giành được giải thưởng. Tổng số gậy của mỗi lỗ được tính và phần chênh lệch được trừ đi để xác định điểm cho từng cá nhân hoặc đội. Phong cách chơi này còn được gọi là đấu gậy.

You simply play each golf hole, then mark the total number of strokes taken. At the end of a round, your gross score (i.e. all shots) is totalled, and your handicap is deducted to calculate the nett score. The player who completes the round with the least nett strokes is the winner.

Each hole is ranked 1-18 by difficulty. The hardest hole is ranked number 1, while the easiest hole is ranked 18th, etc. The ranking is called a hole's index, and they are listed on the scorecard (sometimes they are called the Hole's Handicap Index.)

Here's where it gets interesting: The index on the scorecard determines how many strokes a player receives on the hole, depending on their handicap. These strokes are like "extra shots" that give you a better chance of scoring points.

Example:

Let's say a player has a GolfLink Handicap of 5. He or she will thus get a shot on the 5 hardest holes as noted by the course scorecard (again, every course has all 18 holes "indexed" from 1 (hardest) to 18 (easiest).).

The player approaches the first hole of the day (let's say it is a par-4), and sees that it has an index of 3 (i.e. the third-hardest hole on the course). He or she thus gets a stroke on the hole. Let's say this player takes 5 shots on the hole. In stroke golf, this would be a bogey. However, in Stableford, since the player gets a stroke on the hole, their "nett" score is 4 (i.e. 5 shots minus the handicap stroke). Therefore, they have made a "nett par" and get

Men’s Weekend Stableford The Men’s weekend Stableford went ahead on Saturday, 14 and Sunday, 15 March with prizes for the top 2 scores in each division combined over the weekend. In Division 2, Stu Wilson took 2nd spot after 38 points on the Saturday with solid and consistent play throughout his round but winning by 4 was the impressive Harry King.

Harry, teeing off on Sunday played flawlessly over the front 9 cruising to 23 points on Badgers, dropped shots on the 10th and 12th didn’t halt Harry’s charge as he bounced back with another 3 nett birdies on Deer to finish on 42 points and claim the top spot. In Division 1, Adam Winnall continued his good form with 36 points playing off 5 but missed out on the second spot to Charlie Edwards who dropped just two shots on Deer Park as he also returned 36 points but took second on countback.

Finishing in top spot was Dave Bessant who shot 19 points on both loops to card a 2 under a total of 38 points. Dave played the par 5’s in one under par which helped produce 9 points on those 3 holes alone, which set him on his way to a great score.

On each hole two of the three team balls will count for Stableford points. On each hole one of the players will be "The Batman" and his score on that hole will count double. The Batman rotates in order so each player will have his score. The Batman feels pressure sometimes resulting in balls that end up OB or in the penalty area. we also continue to play first birdie of the day two dollars a man and closest to the pin validated with a par at one dollar per man. Observation… The first two courses we played were a little tired. Once upon a time they were probably cool courses but from years of neglect they left a little to be desired.

The 2022 Anniversary Open

After a few years in the wilderness the CMGC Anniversary Open returned on Friday. Thanks to the generosity of two CMGC members David Lamb of Fire Compliance Plus and Robbie Young (public sponsor) who were kind enough to sponsor the event, the day made a triumphant return!

After selling out in just 5 days 33 teams from 7.40am until 2pm battled it out in the best two from four stableford scores on each hole. This was made sweeter with all four scores to count on Par 3’s.

With the sponsorship money in the prize fund first place was worth a massive £175 per person! We got really lucky with the weather, with just a little shower coming through. The course was in amazing condition with the greens rolled in the morning and rolling at 11 on the stimpmetre, before the roll they were at 10.2. The feedback on the course was excellent.

The full results are below and as I keep mentioning thanks to the sponsors we could offer more places and higher than normal amounts!

The mixed prize was won by Paul and Sharon Liggins with Deryck and Beryl Eastwood with a score of 97 points. They finished just ahead of Dave and Lyn Jinks, Bob Lucas and Anne Breakwell who had 91 points.

To get into the top seven you needed a score of 91 points, one of the last teams out of Steve Donkin, Steve Brazier, Chris Hawkes and Ross Moorecroft cared 97 points to take second place.

The day went to the very first team out at 7.40am who scored 99 points. CMGC members Tim Whitehouse, David Mendham and Matt Richardson led by their Captain and CMGC club Captain Tom Guest had 51 front nine, although just missing out on the 100 points it was enough to get the win! They had the best of the conditions but just got caught in the rain at the end.

‘A big thank you to David and Robbie for sponsoring the day and getting the club so busy, we all enjoyed the format and cannot wait to defend next year’.

A special mention to Josh, who did beat the pro all day and also ran the bar on the 6th of Badgers Sett. Josh raised £300 which has been donated to Milly and Christian on their bike ride to Italy for GUTS UK.
