StEx Appreciation Month Day 27: Gang/Trax
Favourite Actors Gang: I don’t have any specific favourites but I think they’re all great! Trax: I like Nils Rinas as Joey Egan!
Favourite Songs/Scenes Gang: I like watching them in Rolling Stock! Trax: Honestly, just anytime they do cool tricks! I love watching them!
Favourite Costumes Gang: The current ones without the flag <3 Trax: I love the Bochum ones!
Favourite Ships I don’t think I actively ship anything, unfortunately but I’m not against shipping them with anyone. Just not put any thought into it.
Headcanons Gang: I like to think that the gang members and Greaseball all met in high school! Trax: They used to watch the championships when they were little and since then, they’ve always wanted to become a part of racing in some way!
Unpopular Opinions Gang: I don’t think I have any? Trax: I’ve seen people say that the show works just as well if they aren’t there. I’ve seen the show before where they had cut the Trax because none of them were available and I missed them so much!
Photo 1: David Tort, Fernando Barrios, Bernardo Espinoza as Gang - Mexico 1997. Photo 2: Jeremy Suarez as Trax - Bochum 2018. Photo 3: Bobby Collins, Drue Williams, Mark Davis as Gang - London 1984. Photo 4: Manuel Reckow & Etienne Vogel as Trax - Bochum 2018. Photo 5: Bethany Perry & Jake Bishop as Gang - Bochum 2023. Photo 6: Nils Rinas as Trax - Bochum 2022.

StEx Appreciation Month Day 27: Gang, Trax
Gear:
Favorite Ships: Gangrust, Greasegang, Gangrustball, Gearbox
Headcanons: A very runty diesel, wears extra tall skates and boots to look taller
Unpopular opinions: It's not unpopular that the name ALW gave him is ass
Tank:
Favorite Ships: Gangrust, Greasegang, Gangrustball, Tanket
Headcanons: Had rather short hair when GB was an asshole, also stifled his identity a lot. Now that GB has had all the character development, he's let his hair grow out and is Gender-Nonconforming.
Unpopular opinions: N/A
Lube:
Favorite Ships: Gangrust, Greasegang, Gangrustball, Hex Weights
Headcanons: Not a real train, merely an entity taking the form of a train. No Yardmaster or Conductor has actually seen him, leading to him being known as a Cryptid.
Unpopular opinions: N/A
Trax (Trax 1):
Favorite Ships: Traxer (Him x my oc, Striker), I'm the one who created Greasetrax so there's also that
Headcanons: Dad of Trax 2, takes his job seriously as hell, a huge nerd
Unpopular opinions: N/A
Swift (Trax 2):
Favorite Ships: Speedy Song
Headcanons: A young lad, looks up to Trax a whole bunch, works very hard
Unpopular opinions: N/A

my thoughts after seeing stex wembley :D
I saw the 25/1/25 Matinee!
We had a few swings/understudies on- Scott Hayward as Rusty, Lara Vina Uzcatia as Greaseball, Asher Forth as Electra, Jamie Cruttenden as Lumber, Jessie Angell as Slick, Red as Green Arrow, Charles Butcher as Orange Flash, Sam Gallacher as Killerwatt, Bethany Rose Lythgoe as Wrench and Gary Sheridan as Volta. They all did incredible!
I adore the little remixes they have of cut songs from the show that play in the lobby! I didn't notice them at first but I swear my ears pricked up when I realised I could hear the melody of There's Me! I think the full list of remixes were There's Me, Next Time You Fall in Love, A Lotta Locomotion and Right Place, Right Time (Please tell me if I've missed any!)
This is the first show I've ever been to where there's been a safety briefing beforehand! The staff are all incredibly professional although they aren't miced up, so if you are hard of hearing you may want to grab one beforehand to ask them to run you through everything.
We had a show stop! I was actually pretty hyped about this because I'd heard about them happening a few times and as someone with the tiniest experience running theatre tech I wanted to see how it worked! Everything was fine and it was sorted quickly. The stop happened right at the end of Crazy since the house lights kept flicking on and off.
The show sounds so much better in person! I've listened to the cast recording and seen a few bootlegs and the criticism that it's hard to understand is definitely because people are watching recordings of the show. I have auditory processing issues and was realising what some of the lyrics were mid-song when I was in the theatre!
I was sat trackside in the locomotive seats and I'm so glad I didn't buy a cheaper ticket because I could see the entire track, and so much happened directly in front of me! The crash during race 2 happened right where I was sitting, and Dinah and Porter were cheering for the final race in the aisle. At one point, Lumber skated right into the barrier and when I jumped, he turned around and said "Didn't see you there!" which I thought was so cute!
If you want cast interactions and you're near the track, cheer during the races! clap along to songs! of course, being trackside helps, but simply show how much you're loving the show and it pays off. The cast are absolutely incredible with interacting with the audience mid-show as well as during the megamix, and I was so happy with how many little moments that I got to see so close up! If you're recording the megamix, look up at the performers and not at your phone, too!
The only downside of this is that sometimes your view will be blocked- I missed a bit of one of the songs because Tassita was positioned directly in front of me and I couldn't see past! However, the cast are almost constantly moving, so you'll be alright.
I truly can't recommend the locomotive trackside seats enough- there's never any turning around and craning your neck during the races to see what's going on!
During the races, there are live camera feeds which show up on the screens around the theatre. I didn't notice it for a while, but it's the marshalls with the cameras, and it really makes you feel like you're watching a race!
Speaking of the marshalls, they're absolutely incredible! Some of the tricks they pull off are insane to see, and sometimes I felt like I was cheering for them more than the skate stunts!
There have been a few little tweaks made since the recording of the bootleg that was floated around. They're mostly just a few words changed in lines, but there's still new things to see!
Seeing all the tech live is breathtaking. It's one thing to see a video, but so many moments completely took my breath away, especially I Am the Starlight.
I've got so much more appreciation for Pearl and the Freights as characters now. Not that I didn't like them before, but I definitely love them more after the show!
By the end of Act 1, I had already decided I needed to see the show again! I felt like everything could have taken twice as long and I still would have loved it.
In short- if you can see this show please do! It is entertaining, thrilling, and absolutely worth your money no matter where you're sitting!

thered probably be a lot of actual rules when it comes to racing on the trainsformers homeplanet
theyd probably have forgotten a lot of them after staying on earth for so long
which is how you get the very violent stex races. like. im sorry but they borderline attempted to murder rusty and i dont think thats allowed
imagine like. one day someone sends down a race marshall. just to check on how theyre all doing
just for them to all end up getting stuck in a very boring lecture reminding them of the rules (they do not go back to following them)
Ok hear this. Track marshall gets sent out. They scan a vehicle common for aiding races: a safety car.
Said marshall almost has a stroke (or the bot equivalent idk) as they learn how the trains host their races and how strict the rules are (barely enforced at all). Cue the lecture!
I threw that greaseball design together really quickly I have yet to come up with one I like idk

Day 16: Flat-Top the Brick Truck
Ross Dawes in the first picture, Dennis Spee in the second picture, and Michael Eborall in the third picture.
Favorite Actor: James Marshall (Bochum, 2015-2018) and Delano Willemsem (Bochum update, 2020-2022)
Face Claim/Voice Claim: Michael Eborall (face) and Jams Marshall (voice)
Favorite Song/Scene: After Rusty is beaten up by the Gang or mocked by CB and he tells him to give up.
Favorite Costume: I like all of his different costumes but I think he should go back to having an actual flat-top hairstyle like he did in the Original London production.
Favorite Ship: Flat-Top x Duvay
Headcanons: I think he may be bi.
Unpopular Opinion: None at all!

Stex Appreciation Month Day 3: Greaseball
Favourite Actor?
Male Greaseball: I like Matthew Goodgame, Kent Sheridan, Nigel Casey, and Ernest Marchain.
Female Greaseball: Lara Vina Uzcatia!!! Hands down! I got to see her cover Greaseball in July and she was amazing. I really want to see her again because w o w!
Favourite Song/Scenes?
Pumping Iron and One Rock and Roll Too Many!
Favourite Costumes?
I like the 90s Bochum costume and I think the Wembley one is pretty awesome too!
Favourite Ships/Friendships?
Ships: Greaseball/Dinah, Greaseball/Pearl, Greaseball/Electra Friendships: Greaseball and the Gang/Marshals, maybe Electra after the events of the show, and the coaches.
Headcanons?
Male Greaseball: I don't think he's dumb just because he struggles to spell. I just think he's a bit clueless sometimes.
Female Greaseball: She's good friends with Golden Eagle and she likes the other engines. When I saw it live, I saw her cheering for some of the engines when they were getting announced for the second race!
Unpopular Opinion?
I think female Greaseball is fun... I still prefer male Greaseball but honestly female Greaseball wasn't as bad as I was expecting.
Photo 1: Lez Dwight - London 1999. Photo 2: Jamie Capewell - UK Tour 2012. Photo 3: Lashane Williams - Bochum 2023. Photo 4: Nigel Casey - Bochum 1989. Photo 5: Al Knott - Wembley 2024.

STEX APPRECIATION MONTH DAY SIXTEEN: FLAT TOP
Favorite Actors
James Marshall, Delano Willemsen
Favorite Costume(s)
I like the bricks actually being on the flat top brick truck part of his costumes, and so I like his current design a lot. But gotta say! Brick on a chain is very compelling!
Favorite Songs/Scenes
It's very funny to watch him trying to get "in" with the diesel gang and GB and gang are just.......not acknowledging his existence at all. The moment he has with Rusty after the gang beats the steamer up is also such an emotional grab - because he still goes off with the gang. Like damn.
Headcanon(s)
He's aro, but very respectful of Dustin's boundaries since they are in a queer platonic relationship together.
Unpopular Opinion(s)
Him being unhygienic doesn't make him more likeable tbh. But otherwise, I don't have anything of substance that's "controversial" about him!

I don’t want to get eaten alive for this, but from what I’ve seen, I don’t like the StEx revival. There are things I do like, such as Control being a physical character on stage, but the cons outweigh the pros.
My main gripe is that the costume design looks oversaturated, almost like those cheap mascot horror characters designed to appeal to kids with bright colors. I do like that Electra stands out, but not like this. They decided to make everyone super retro-futuristic, except for the characters that were retro-futuristic from the beginning. The components also all look the same. Why did they scrap the original design notes? Also, the Freight/Fuel Trucks. Everyone in the old Freight looked different aside from the Rockies/Hip-Hoppers (and that was the gimmick for them). Now, I can’t tell them apart, and I honestly thought Slick Oil was a part of Greaseball’s gang.
Speaking of which, the color palettes between characters are too similar! They could have kept elements of Pearl’s original pink design in this design to differentiate her from (whoever the new sleeping car is). In the older versions, the characters had main colors or silhouettes that they/their group stuck to, and that’s how you could tell them apart. The Freight all had very boxy silhouettes and hats (with Caboose being the exception), Electra’s and their components all had a shared color palette of silver, black, white, red, and blue. The Coaches all had similar silhouettes as well. The only time this color mix-up could’ve happened in the original was if someone assumed The Flying Marshalls were a part of Greaseball’s gang. To me, the new costumes just feel like recolors of the costumes from Six with backpacks.
I won’t include any spoilers with plot or the songs, as I have only heard the megamix and likely will not be able to see the show unless it tours or if someone bootlegs it.
(Also new Dinah was done ABSOLUTELY DIRTY and no one can change my mind)
