Man I do hope Splatoon 4 does something about mirror matches

This is the first Splatfest (and I've played since the first game) that I willingly tapped out super early, cause legit 95% of all my matches have been mirrors and contribute absolutely 0 to the team 😭

If I just wanted to play Turf War, I'd play Turf War, I play Splatfests for the teams babey!!

At any rate, good luck fellow Wizards and all 3 teams in general!

I Am Dragon AU

Who knew how long he’d been here, all alone except for the creature and the dragon?

She bent down to the crack in the wall, trying to look at him. La, he wasn’t wearing a shirt!

“You don’t look much like a prisoner.”

“I don’t?”

“I expected you to be all dusty, full of cobwebs, but you look...different.” She mentally chastised herself for staring, but spirits, was he attractive. He had a finely toned physique that made it extremely hard to look away. When her eyes reached his face, she found herself taken aback. A large burn scar covered nearly half of his face.

“I need a distraction,” she continued.

“What?”

“You distract the creature, and I’ll slit its throat with the icicle.”

“That sounds like a very bad plan.”

“I need to escape this place.”

“Katara, we can’t escape the dragon!”

“Then you’re a coward! I’m getting myself out of here somehow, whether you help or not!”

“Katara,” he pleaded. “I hate the dragon just as much as you do, but we can’t escape him. We’re on an island, surrounded by the harshest seas I’ve ever seen. The waters are filled with squidwhales and Agni knows what else. You’d be dead in ten minutes, waterbender or no.”

“That sounds exactly like something a coward would say,” she smirked. Katara meant this to be aggravating, and judging from the exasperated groan from the other side of the stone wall, she’d succeeded.

The whole “how the hell does this predatory creature get enough sustenance” thing that plagues fantasy and sci-fi occasionally gets so absurd it loops around into being funny, like the scene in Star Wars when the Millenium Falcon is flying through an asteroid field and gets swallowed by a worm.

I could complain about that, but I could also conclude that the supply of reckless space pilots flying into asteroid fields has been consistent enough for the past few million years for animals to evolve to prey upon them.

Splatfest So Far

-Lost a 10x and a 100x within 2-3 matches of each other -99.9% Team Saturday matches, ONE Friday but it was a 2nd 10x that I lost -My teammates keep dying like 8-9 times each no matter how many queues I get into

Sunday doesn't exist, this is between Friday and Saturday /dies

Team Present PLEASE stop throwing in Pro Mirrors; I know mirrors normally dont mean anything but I have been trying to build my Pro Power and y'all are ruining that by not contributing 😭

I just D/C'd before 2 minutes to spare the other two who were actually trying

People climbed, pushed me outta the ranking, and I had to give it one more go...SADLY, I FELL SHORT, and I end at 2544 X Power and like Top #614 or something /dies

IT'S SAD...I know a lot of people are fightin' hard for those spots Maybe Next Season..........

Man idk what it is about 3 specifically that makes me feel like not only I -lost- skill in the game but that I'm just generally having less fun overall save for Splatfests and things 😔

I just can't keep up like I used to, Splatoon 2 is where I peaked and since then it feels like I'll never get back up to where I was

I'm really resonating with the folks who are bailing out some days

(Don't worry, I 100% plan on taking a good break away from it, I know my limits, it's just a little sad)

Drums 100% has Tricolor btw, it's such a defense heavy map and they exclusively get Defender position in my 1/10 actual games
