🌷 Writing Patterns 🌷
I was tagged by three amazing writers @penny00dreadful @momotonescreaming @eyesofshinigami @thefreakandthehair @kikidoesfanfic
and @hbyrde36 . Oh my gosh, so many tags! Thanks everyone 💖💖💖
Rules: Share the first line of your last ten published works or as many as you are able and see if there are any patterns!
My last ten works are all drabbles and ficlets.
Hope: Steve somersaults downwards, careful to keep a tight grip on the line of rope suspended between worlds as he feels gravity even out again.
Steve's Bed: Steve stares up at the big, stupid canopy hanging over the bed and folds his arms.
Like Clockwork: Steve shimmies to a seated position but doesn’t bother hitching his jeans up.
Closet Drabble: “Toodles, Steve-O!”
Only One Bed Drabble: “This cannot be right.”
Lifeguard Drabble: “What ever could be the matter, my dearest companion?”
Home Drabble: Tommy hops back into his car and slams the door.
Untitled (Steve angrily watches Sportscentre): Eddie walks into the living room to find Steve on his feet and standing far too close to the television.
Freak Drabble: Steve has been doing this with Eddie Munson for a few months now.
Untitled (Sleepless Steve): Eddie can sense Steve isn’t in bed when he blinks awake.
Oh whoa, I really do start with a character's name, don't I? I think the reason is that I tend to prioritise establishing the POV, especially in shorter works. Then I move onto setting the scene, etc.
No pressure tags (I know this game is going around right now, so I'm sure a few people have already done it): @devondespresso @soaringornithopter @blubblesandink @stervrucht @augustjustice

Just putting it out there that if the federation I worked for was on the brink of bankruptcy, I might be looking for a new gig. (ACFC should convince Bev Priestman to come to LA!) https://twitter.com/sportscentre/status/1673333629764632577?s=46&t=5MS-nJRE_o6_WH-_5XCR-g

Aside from anything else, we're in an era where optics means everything. Let's say CP and A'ja are actually getting paid close to a half million with their secret cash. They officially are two of the best players in the league and when SportsCentre report that they're only getting 100,000, it demeans what they're doing and what their actual worth is. It's not fair that it's the case but it is - they deserve to be fully and officially compensated for being some of the best in the world at what they do, not have their salaries hidden like a dirty secret (which it is right now). It also makes a mockery of team building. Maybe Super Teams work in the NBA where with 30 teams there's enough intrigue elsewhere that it's not quite the same as in a league with 12 teams.
The WNBA is in such a weird place right now. I feel like they need to negotiate a new CBA every year instead of every 7 years.
