12/04/2020
It’s Easter Sunday, so we had a day in the garden drinking and having fun! Then had a gorgeous roast followed by a dog walk.
As I was scrolling on Facebook I stumbled upon this, and it basically sums up what’s happened with the virus - brilliant for years to come when we want to look back!
Happy Easter Sunday everyone!
Just so that we never forget..... today is Sunday 12th April 2020 🗓 (Easter Sunday 🐣🐇🐥)
The unprecedented events that have occurred as a direct result of the Corona Virus.....🦠
On 11th March 2020 the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) was declared a Pandemic, by the World Health Organisation (WHO).🦠
On Friday 20th March all schools were closed. 🏫Remote learning is now in place and parents are home-schooling their children 🎓. All GCSE and A Level exams have been cancelled.
On the evening of 23rd of March 2020 Prime Minister Boris Johnson implemented a national lockdown 🚫
The Excel London is now known as NHS Nightingale and has been turned into a hospital for up to 4,000 patients, most of whom will be on ventilators. It was opened by Prince Charles (virtually, rather than in person) at 11am on 3rd April. There are also several similar venues being built and used in cities across the country (including Westpoint in Exeter).🏥
On 5th April The Queen addressed the nation at 8pm 👑 (only the 5th time she has done this, outside of her annual Christmas message).
Also on the 5th April, Boris was admitted to hospital, after 10 days of self-isolating with the Corona Virus 🧪
On the 6th April Boris was admitted to intensive care with deteriorating symptoms. Fortunately he came out of intensive care on 9th April 🩺
Many Community support groups have been established, to support the vulnerable, elderly, immunocompromised and people in enforced isolation due to exposure 🧓🏻👴🏻
Petrol ⛽️ prices are extremely low and the national average is £1.02 per gallon
Gatherings are restricted, initially to 50 people, then 20, then 10. Now, you cannot socialise with anyone outside of your home. 🚫
Self-distancing measures are implemented ☹️
There is now tape on the floor at grocery stores ❌ and other essential stores to help distance shoppers 🛒 (2 metres) from each other.
There is a limit on the number of people allowed inside stores at any one time, including staff, this is causing queues outside of the store doors and in car parks🏬
Non-essential stores and businesses are mandated closed. People who are able to, can work 👩🏻💻👨🏻💻 from home 🏡
Parks 🏕 trails, entire towns and cities 🏢 are closed or restricted to locals only
Sports ⚽️ 🏉 🎾 seasons are cancelled, as well as The Grand National, The Open and Wimbledon .
The Olympics are postponed until 2021.
🔵🟡⚫🟢🔴
Concerts, 🎫 tours 🚌 and festivals, 🤹🏻 (including Glastonbury) and other entertainment events 🎭 are cancelled 🚫
Weddings, 👰🏼🤵🏻 family celebrations 🥳 (birthdays, christenings and anniversary’s) and holiday gatherings, such as Mother’s Day and Easter, 👨👩👦👦 even funerals ⚰️ are all put on hold or cancelled 🚫
Churches ⛪️ are closed and the Pope delivers the Palm Sunday mass to an empty Basilica, in the Vatican City🚫
Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and all other TV networks are on in every home, daily 🎬
People are glued to the News and to Social Media.
Children's outdoor play parks are closed 🎡
Most flights are grounded, ✈️cruise ships 🛳are docked, holidays are cancelled 🏖and only essential travel is permitted. Few rescue flights are operating.
There is a huge shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), masks, 😷 gowns 🥼 and gloves 🧤 for our front-line essential health workers.
There is a shortage of ventilators for the critically ill, 🤒 in many parts of the world.
On the news, we see refrigerated trucks for the dead, outside hospitals in the USA 🇺🇸 Italy 🇮🇹 Spain 🇪🇸 and China 🇨🇳 etc and we see the mass digging of graves (even in the UK).
Panic buying 🛒 sets in and we have restrictions on toilet paper 🧻 disinfectants, paper towels, basic foods (like pasta, rice and bread),🥗 as well as hand sanitiser.🧴 Flour is hard to find, because the packaging comes from China 🇨🇳 and many borders are closed 🚧
Manufacturers, 🏭 distilleries and many other businesses, 🏢 switch their production lines to help make visors, masks 😷 hand sanitiser 🧴 and PPE 🧤
The Police are given the power to impose fines for breaking lockdown rules and to disperse groups 👮🏻♀️
Stadiums 🏟 and recreational facilities overseas are opened up for the overflow of Covid-19 🦠 patients.
In some countries, Public Park 🏕 areas are being turned into caravan parks for stranded tourists to self isolate 🚐
There are daily Press conferences from the Prime Minister👱♂️ and other government 🏛 officials. We are given daily updates on new cases, recoveries, and deaths ⚰️
There are Government 🏛 incentives to stay at home. Self-employed can apply for grants and employees are being furloughed (and can receive up to 80% of earnings). 💷
Barely anyone is on the road or the street 🛣
People are wearing masks 😷 and gloves when they go outside 🧤
Essential service workers are terrified to go to work 👮🏻 👩🏻⚕️ 👲🏻
Medical field workers 👩🏻⚕️ are afraid to go home to their families 👨👧👦
Every Thursday evening at 8pm we all stand outside our front doors and clap the NHS and Carers, to show our gratitude for what they are doing.👏🏻
Many people have rainbows visible 🌈 in the windows of their homes, as a way of spreading hope.
There have been 1,783,220 cases, 109,299 deaths and 405,353 recoveries globally and 84,279 cases and 10,612 deaths in UK so far.
Why, you ask, do I write 📝 this status?
One day it will show up in my memory 💭 feed, and it will be an annual reminder that life is precious and not to take the things we dearly love for granted 💕
We have so much! Be thankful. Be grateful 😌
Be kind to each other - love one another - support everyone 🥰🌈❤️
We are all one! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
Bye for now!

PRIDE AROUND THE WORLD
By Michael Bustamante & Rafa Carvajal
Pride parades, events, and festivals are taking place around the world, celebrating the great milestones we've made as a community, and reminding us the many more we are yet to accomplish in the fight for full equality. Most of the celebrations take place in June, and will be honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in NYC – the official host of WorldPride 2019.
"In a world where LGBTQIA+ people continue to experience profound oppression, the NYC Pride March is a beacon of hope and community. This June 30, that beacon will shine the brightest it ever has when POSE, Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, Gay Liberation Front, The Trevor Project and Monica Helms lead 115,000 marchers in the largest display of LGBTQIA+ pride the world has ever seen," said NYC Pride March Director Julian Sanjivan.
This year, we have included 18 celebrations in our annual Pride Around The World issue of Wire Magazine, so mark your calendars and visit some of these amazing LGBTQ friendly cities to celebrate with friends the world over.
AMSTERDAM July 27 - August 4 pride.amsterdam
This year, the theme of Pride Amsterdam is "Remember the past, create the future." According to Director Lucien Spee of Amsterdam Gay Pride, "This year we are commemorating the Stonewall riots, which broke out in New York 50 years ago and form a decisive moment in the history of the LGBTQ-movement." Enjoy street parties all weekend long, August 2-4, with circuit parties, and the highlight of the Amsterdam Gay Pride on August 3 – the Canal Parade.
ANTWERP August 7-11 antwerppride.eu
Antwerp Pride attracts thousands of people every year to commemorate and celebrate the long journey towards acceptance and equality the LGBTQ community has made. The celebration gives the community a voice to educate and bring awareness to the general public. The centerpiece of Antwerp Pride is the Pride Parade on Sunday.
BERLIN July 27 csd-berlin.de
The 41st CSD Berlin (Christopher Street Day) will be July 27, 2019, and will begin at 12 p.m. through Berlin. This year, the motto will be "Stonewall 50 – Every Uprising Begins with Your Voice," as it was determined in four rounds of voting out of 242 proposals. Join in and march in support of the LGBTQ community.
BRIGHTON-HOVE August 2-4 brighton-pride.org
An amazing display of inclusivity, the Brighton & Hove Pride Festival in Preston Park welcomes over 300,000 partygoers every year and is known as the country's biggest Pride celebration. Preston Park transforms into a fun playground with performance and dance tents, plus great performance stages. Icon Kylie Minogue will headline the festival this year alongside Jessie J, Clean Bandit, and Grace Jones.
CAPITAL PRIDE IN WASHINGTON D.C. June 8 capitalpride.org
Celebrate Pride in our nation's capital on June 8. According to Ryan Bos, Executive Director of the Capital Pride Alliance (CPA), "We are thrilled and excited for a year of events and community collaboration celebrating our theme, 'shhhOUT: Past, Present & Proud' in the National Capital Region." More than 200 organizations will join the parade, which will travel 1.5 miles with floats, vehicles, signs, banners, and entertainment, all supporting the LGBTQ community in D.C. The Pride Festival will have three stages of national and local talent, and will host 300 exhibitors including local community groups and businesses, food vendors, and organizations.
KEY WEST June 5-9 gaykeywestfl.com/pride
Join in to celebrate Key West Pride on a tropical island that is known for its open and accepting atmosphere. The parade takes place June 9, at 5 p.m., and it is definitely one to see. Celebrate with one of the most integrated and unique communities in the world – Key West. According to Dan Skahen, executive director of the guild that has served LGBTQ visitors for four decades, "We're making Pride island-wide and all-inclusive by staging plays, movies, wine tastings, all-welcome pool parties and special concerts including one by singer-songwriter Steve Grand."
LONDON July 6 prideinlondon.org
Known for delivering what has become a world-class celebration, Pride in London is run entirely by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. This year's theme will be #PrideJubilee, marking 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising. LOS ANGELES May 31 - June 9 lapride.org
Gear up for an amazing 2019 Pride celebration, LA Pride's mission is to "create safe and inclusive spaces for self-expression, inspire an authentic sense of activism in the continued fight for equality, and celebrate the unique heritage and diverse cultures of Los Angeles' LGBTQ community and its allies." This year's theme is #JustUnite – to set aside our differences and celebrate what truly unites us. The 2019 LA Pride festival headliners will be Meghan Trainor on June 8, and Years & Years on June 9.
MADRID July 3-7 madridorgullo.com
Every year, Madrid welcomes Mado – the great LGBTQ Pride party held in Chueca, Madrid's gay neighborhood. Enjoy free concerts, parties, art, culture, and sports all around Madrid's gay neighborhood in the center of the capital. The main event, as with most Pride celebrations, will be the LGBTQ Pride Parade on Saturday, July 6. In conjunction with Mado, Madrid also welcomes the WE Pride Festival with the sexiest, most intense parties at the most famous venues in Madrid: Sala But, Teatro Kapital, Fabrik, and La Riviera. This year, for its 9th edition, the Festival will last 5 days with 6 different parties. #AlwaysWePride
MONTREAL August 8-20 fiertemtl.com
Pride Montreal, founded back in 2007, is the largest gathering of its kind across the Francophonie. The Montreal Pride Festival supports and promotes communities of sexual diversity and the plurality of local genres, while serving as a beacon of hope for communities living in injustice around the world. It attracts more than 2.7 million entries locally and internationally for eleven days of activities that include free shows, panels, the community day and the parade. The parade will take place on Sunday, August 18, welcoming over 300,000 people to the beautiful city.
NEW ORLEANS June 7-9 togetherwenola.com
Celebrate diversity at the largest Pride Festival to ever take place in Louisiana, New Orleans Pride, as it fully embraces the message of 'One Community.' "New Orleans Pride's objectives are to create an atmosphere where lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people can be proud of their sexual orientation and gender identity." Last year, more than 35 events took place over a three-day weekend, bringing in more than 82,000 participants, 3,000 of which were in the New Orleans Pride Parade. The parade will begin at noon on Sunday, June 30, and according to NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson, "As we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, it is fitting that we will march down Fifth Avenue, past the Stonewall Inn and through the neighborhoods of Greenwich Village and Chelsea, cradles of the modern LGBTQ civil rights movement. I want to thank Mayor de Blasio, the NYPD, NYC Pride, and all their partners for their hard work in planning WorldPride NYC 2019, a tremendous logistical feat." Current and Upcoming Funassyi Events, Week of January 2, 2017
May this be another great year for our Pear! This year I’m hoping he really puts serious effort into conquering the world. ^_^ Check back every Monday for a new update.
Live events/appearances by Funassyi
A note about the 274ch fan meets: at this point it seems pretty impossible to procure tickets to them unless you are very lucky and win the lottery. So for now, I would just recommend following 274ch.com for news about upcoming fan events and trying your luck if you are in Japan. At the moment I don’t see a way for overseas fans to get in, unfortunately (unless they have a friend in Japan to try for them).
January 4: New Year’s Manzai (comedy routine) with Chicchai Ossan, Sonoda Race Track in Amagasaki, Hyogo prefecture (Ossan’s hometown), 12:10~ and 14:30~
January 8: New Years event at Lalaport Tokyo Bay in Funabashi, Central Square, 1st (ground) floor, North Building, 11:00. This one will have space for the public (i.e. not just people who make purchases beforehand and enter a lottery, etc.) (details to follow on official site)
January 9: Challenge Sports (Charesupo), Tokyo International Forum, between 10:00 and 17:00
January 14: Furusato Matsuri Tokyo 2017 in the Tokyo Dome. Appearance scheduled on the Furusato Stage at 17:00 (announcement here; in conjunction with the new Funassyi design T-Card from Tsutaya, which will be available from Jan. 13-31)
January 25: 274ch Fan Meeting in Osaka in the Event Hall at Hotel Mielparque, 19:00 (doors open at 17:30)
February 4: Chris Hart 47 Prefecture Tour guest appearance at Chiba Bunka Kaikan (details to follow if I can find them!)
February 7: Funassyiland Harajuku 1-year anniversary event at Omotesando Hills in Harajuku, B3 floor, 12:00~ and 14:00~ (details; 2,000 yen purchase from any of the Funassyilands between 12/26 - 1/15 gets you a sticker to send in for a chance at one of the tickets)
February 25: 274ch Fan Meeting in Nagoya, Wink Aichi, 19:00 (doors open at 17:30)
March - 3 to 4 concerts/shows - places and times to be announced in the new year (mentioned by Funassyi during his event on Saturday; keep in mind that sometimes things Funassyi says at events don’t pan out, but this one seems fairly certain)
July 8-9: Friend Festival, Tomakomai, Hokkaido
Live events/appearances by Funagoro and/or Funyassyi
These are appearances by Funagoro and Funyassyi only. Events where Funassyi will appear too are listed in the section above.
January 7: Funagoro at Seibu department store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, 9th floor (rooftop), 13:00 - 15:00
January 21: Funyassyi at Seibu department store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, 9th floor (rooftop), 13:00 - 15:00
274ch.com
274ch.com, Funassyi’s official streaming video channel/fan club, is the main outlet for Funassyi’s video appearances from now on. Videos are uploaded every couple of days, and are very funny, with Funassyi appearing far more loose and relaxed than he is on broadcast TV. Highlights include a cooking show, Funassyi imitating various Japanese comedy acts, Funassyi roaming around in the wild, and much more.
Membership is 600 yen per month or 6,000 yen per year. You can now join from outside of Japan too, although the site is in Japanese only (and so is customer support and so on). Details here.
Note: Sometimes someone at the steaming video provider seems to turn on IP checking/blocking of non-Japanese IPs. If you can’t access the videos, just wait a few hours and it will usually get fixed.
TV, Radio, Live Webcasts, Movies
January 4: Repeat of Shoten O-giri New Years Special, BS Nittele, 21:00 - 22:00
January 6: ART & LIVE Night, Nittele (Nippon TV), 2:59 - 3:59 (that’s late night AM, not PM)
