Introducing, the Dual Snippers

"A new entry into the splatana class, sold by Foil. The Dual Snippers - despite it's name - aren't dualies, but they function similarly to dualies such as the Dualie Squelchers in that they can join together for an alternate attack. Each blade can only be swung one at at time, alternating the angle of the horizontal slash. But they can be snapped together during it's charge attack in order to create a wide V-shaped slash."

This is my first time ever designing and modeling a Splatoon weapon from scratch. I've had this idea floating around in my mind for months, and while other scissor weapons have probably already been made before (I haven't seen them, so I apologize if this is unintentionally copying someone's design) I wanted to try my hand at modeling it. I didn't sketch anything beforehand I just went for it.

I'm planning to learn how to animate in Blender so I can create a weapon demonstration video which shows them in action, but I'm not sure if it'll be soon because I've never animated before. I am planning to create more renders of these in use though, as well as an alternate skin and stats to go along with them. Does anyone have any kit ideas? I've been brainstorming them for a while, but it's hard to visualize the playstyle of a weapon that doesn't exist.

Another splatoon weapon idea! This one's a splatana based on a lip gloss applicator. I was thinking its gimmick could be that it could hold a charge, and the lip gloss tube could function like a scabbard, idk. The tradeoff for that would probably be having shorter range than the wiper.

I don't have any ideas for the name though so feel free to suggest something!

Splatterscope from Splatoon 1!

i might or might not be working on my first ever cosplay 😳😳 either way i just fucking LOVE the original Splatterscope so i really wanted to make a (semi-)functional replica. took about 3 months of designing, 3D printing and assembling, and i'm super happy with the result <コ:彡

and i have this dynamo roller charm. it's kinda beeg and it's also holographic and stuff. reminds me of the locker sticker you get after 3-starring a weapon!

an idea I had for a splatoon charger, based on a silly straw. Not sure what its gimmick would be though.. I was thinking maybe a short range charger that paints really well with tap shots, so it'd be able to hold map control fairly well on its own (its shorter range being the tradeoff-- I was thinking something similar to a squiffer). It'd pierce and be able to one-shot on a full charge, but its charge time would be similar to (if not slightly shorter than) the splat charger.

Pearl and Callie would probably love the Grizzco Dualies and Roller, and absolutely go crazy with them. They'd also probably repeatedly fall into the water while using them 💀

There appears to be a poster hung up on one of the many flyer-plastered walls of Splatsville advertising a set of new bladed weapons...

Tie-DIE: users get a new tie-dye shirt at the end of each round! The color of the shirt tends to reflect which side won since it absorbs enemy ink. Hits fast and HARD. Dual-weapon. Based off of pirate cutlasses

Hole-y Sprinkler: based off of holy water sprinklers, as well as a mace of the same name. Obliterates anyone close range. Its said that the arcane symbols imbue the user with sacred power....

Haiku-ligrapher: (my fav of the three!) This dual-weapon's "blades" are your ink-tank. Its said that the user needs to have some intense concentration to keep the ink solid. Works best when the tank is full; deals devastating blows when theres more ink/blade. Its got the range and maneuverability of the dualies and the power of a splatana.

Who made these blades? It seems the only hint is that symbol of theirs at the bottom right...
