New Project Idea - Spirituality in Nature
Throughout this whole blog I have mentioned a lot about spirtuality and how I portray that through my work. It is very difficult to showcase what spirituality is through my photos because its not an object or a human being, it is the universe and the spirits around us. This made me think about spirituality in nature. In Science it explores the outer world with a series of questions such as “What is this? What is the world all about?” while spirituality begins the question with “Who am I?”.
Spirituality for me describes human beings as having five layers of experience: the environment, the physical body, the mind, the intuition and our self or spirit. The first level of experience is our connection with the environment, this has to be positive and optimistic. We have to create balance in our environment in order for the other four layers to feel at peace. It is the first step to find a connection within ourselves. Nature in itself is very important to us, from the sun, the moon, clouds, mountains, rivers and trees, human beings take for granted. But an example of human beings neglecting nature is how climate change has heightened now as humans have begun polluting and destroying the environment. We as a society have lost our connection with nature.
