Realizing your spiritual worth
At times in our lives, we all have moments, and in more serious cases drawn out periods, in which we feel inferior or worthless. We find ourselves experiencing guilt over any number of things which may or may not have any true validity.
In times like this, we must remember that we are not simply human beings attempting to have a spiritual experience but rather spiritual beings in the process of having a human one.
We each have our own journey and as with any great journey, there will be obstacles and bumps in the road. But instead of seeing these bumps (our feelings of inferiority and worthlessness in this case) as stumbling blocks, perhaps we can opt to see them for what they really are - chances for us to rise up and carry on.
As far as guilt goes, we often bring it upon ourselves unnecessarily. We do this when we allow the ego to keep us down. It will try to tell us that no matter what, we are “not good enough.” The truth is that we where designed by God / The Creator / The Life Force or whatever name you choose to use, in such a way that we are already what we need to be. We just have to accept and recognize it for ourselves.
On the occasions in which guilt is warranted, it is not there to make us feel bad but rather to help us move on to better things. It’s a stepping stone that once we leave behind we no longer need for our own journey.
