Do you have any thoughts on the top gif of Steve flinching from a light flash
Ooh, I love questions like these. I do, in fact, have thoughts.
So, I imagine a lot of people have seen the post talking about how this dream sequence reflects Steve’s PTSD, and I think that is true. I want to go a little deeper into that now though.
Let’s start with flashbulbs themselves since that is what Steve is flinching away from. Flashbulbs were a relatively modern invention (around 1930), and they were great, since it made it safer and easier to take photos of people. (X)
As you can imagine though, flashbulbs are very bright. Even nowadays, we find ourselves blinking away flash-blindness after electric flashes from our phone cameras. I don’t know exactly how bright flashbulbs were, but, for context, I’ve heard them described as as bright as strobe lights. (X)
Flashbulbs don’t smoke, but they can sometimes make a ‘popping noise’, and they are hot. (And sometimes explode, but that had mostly been fixed, so not likely Steve would have experienced it.) All in all, plenty of assaults on the senses.
Now, Steve would have had a lot of experience with flashbulbs as Captain America. The press took to flashbulbs like ducks, and he would have had to deal with them all the time.
If the average person finds the light disturbing, I imagine it was particularly difficult for him with his enhanced-senses.
So, on one level, we have Steve flinching away from the light because it is simply painful. It is overwhelming, and all his senses are probably on edge.
Additionally, going into the symbolism of the dream, the whole idea of it is that Steve can’t actually go home. His trauma follows him. I think it is interesting that cameras show up here, since he would have so much experience with them as Captain America.
The cameras are saying he is still on display. He can’t go home, he can’t put Captain America behind him. He is still a dancing monkey.
On another level, I imagine the flashbulbs trigger some unpleasant memories.
At first I was wondering if flashbulbs might remind Steve of flashbang grenades, but I had actually already looked those up a while ago (because of the scene in CA:CW where Steve and Bucky fend off flash grenades, I was wondering if that was something they could have done together during the war.) Flash bombs were developed in the 60s though, so Steve wouldn’t have actually dealt with those during the war. (X)
But, what did Steve have to deal with that has a bright flash of light?
Hydra weapons.
Hydra weapons have a bright flash of light, and if they touch you, you get immediately disintegrated. Not great memories to deal with.
Additionally, Steve has had to deal with normal grenades and tanks and explosions, all of which probably weren’t great for his senses.
Now for the symbolism. Did you know that the apparatus that is attached to the lightbulb for the photographer to click is called a flashgun, or speedgun? (X) The purpose of it is to help sync up the shutter speed and the flash of the bulb, but I find that the violent language of photography adds some more symbolism to the moment. (Think ‘pointing and shooting’, ‘loading and aiming’ a camera...) (X)
So yeah, I think his flinching away from the light is telling. It brings up his PTSD with the war and Hydra weapons, it highlights his enhanced senses, and it underlines the fact that he can’t go home. Captain America and his own trauma has followed him here, and he can’t change that.

Lillian/Cora x over
The sound of the police car's siren made Lillian frown and she immediately turned to stop at the side of the road, followed by a police car
"Are we in trouble?" Cora asked worry etched on her face,
"Yes, I might have overspeed,"
The worry turns into a frown, "Overspeed? I am not as well with horse back riding as Regina, but I get on coaches a lot and I know how an overspeeding feels, I don't think we are."
Lillian smiled, "Well coach rides I believe are much shaky plus roads in your time and realm are not smooth,"
"Horses love the unsmooth road, keeos traction and less accidents for the animals."
"I know, what I'm saying is, in this new era and in this realm, our roads are smooth, you can drive at 160mph and still not feel it."
Cora nodded, "Okay,"
Then there was a knock at Lillians door and the police officer had to jump back when instead of the window going down, the whole door fell off the ground.
"What the fuck!" The police officer who took out his smoke glass eyed said car door then at Lillian who was smiling at him. "Oh.. Mrs. Luthor! I didn't realize it was you…" then he looked at the car again,
"Sorry Officer…"
"Dreyfus Ma'am!"
"Officer Dreyfus, I am trying this car I made, I was experimenting if I could duplicate that volkswagen car in that movie…"
"Oh, Herbie goes banana? The original then?" The police said laughing and Lillian nods with a grim smile, the police noticed and coughs, "Sorry, I mean…"
"I want to apologize for overspeeding, I havent finished the interior properly and haven't calibrated the speedometer,"
"Oh no Mrs. Luthor, I didn't stop you because you're over speeding!"
Cora crawled on top of Lillian and interrupted, "Did you stop us for our beauties then?" She even batted her eyes,
Lillian was speechless, because heck, when did Cora changed from her oldself to her young one, and in a revealing dress? And now showing off cleavage to the poor officer,
"Wha… ah… what? No Ma'am of course not! But…"
Lilian frowned and looked at the officer, "My eyes are here officer," she called out and the man looked up from Cora's presenting cleavage to Lillian's livid blue eyes, "What am I charge with?"
"Oh, you are not ma'am, actually I stopped you to tell you that you are way under the speed limit, it's 80 mph max and 65mph min in this part, and you are at 48 ma'am."
Lillian's eyes widened, "What?!"
"Yes ma'am, if you do not wish to drive faster I suggest you could take the inner lane all throughout your way ma'am,"
"I...I…" Yes Lillian wa speechless.
Before the officer turn, Cora talked, "Officer," she said in her most flirtatious voice which caught Lillian's attention,
"Cora we are not in trou…"
"Yes Ma'am?" And again the officer's eyes zeroed in on luscious cleavage,
"Coraaaa…"
"Hush dear," Cora said to Lillian then to the police she continued, "How did you ever find out our speed?"
The officer smiled and proudly produce his speedgun and showed it to Cora. "I am equipped with this."
"Oh that's wow… would it be pretentious of me if I ask you to show me how that thing works?"
The officer's face reddened, "of course not ma'am, I'm happy to oblige,"
"Oh, goody."
"Coraaaa…"
_____________
So I wrote a side tale to my Unforgiven story and its a Lillian Luthor/Cora Mills pairing, there are some people who were interested in the pairing and I grew to love writing them too. This is a sneak peek.

The special training with Glenn was different from what I had with Juan.
Anyway, if you ask me who has experience in both leagues KBO's top tier is worthy of rubbing AAA or higher, and AA is far superior in average athletic ability. I will express Of course, the level of the pitchers is not difficult for me. How do you know about a subject that only plays in AA? If you spend 20 years in any field, you can see something. In that sense, Glenn was just at the level of a good pitcher in the KBO. A fast ball in 코인카지노 the early 90's, good control, and controllable four-seam, two-seam, slider, and curveball. But that's it. That Glan was gradually evolving after two weeks of training with me. KBO? Now, the expression “chew and eat” is more appropriate. “Ow, shh! Debon, did you see it? Did you see it!!” “Congratulations, Glenn.” “Oh, come on, you are my benefactor.” The speed marked on the speedgun was 97 mph. It went over 5 miles. “How about your shoulders?” “I think I can throw even faster!” The special training with Glenn was different from what I had with Juan.

Hello, I own a motion picture prop house in Los Angeles, CA. We are working on a film right now that takes place in 1933 and I am looking for S. Mendelsohn Speedgun flashes. I have one but I need about 8 more. There seem to be very difficult to find. Do you know of anybody who has them or where I could start looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
I do not check my messages very often here, so sorry if this is way out of date. The only place I have found Mendelsohn flash units has been ebay.

Ashes 2019: It will be pitch perfect at Old Trafford… but don’t expect a run-fest
It will be a perfect field at Old Trafford … but don't expect Ashes run-fest
Stuart Broad maintains that the field this week is one of the best in the series
But he could have calculated without two fragile batting line-ups
Fast pitch in Manchester compares the fast bowlers of the two parties
Jofra Archer and Mitchell Starc will be with each other and the speedgun
against Lawrence Booth for the Daily Mail [concurreren]
Published: 22:30 BST, 2 September 2019 | Updated: 22:30 BST, 2 September 2019
Stuart Broad insisted Monday that the locations for the two remaining tests in Old Trafford and The Oval would be the best of the series – but he could count without two of the most vulnerable batting line-ups in the Ashes' recent memory.
And while fast and true batsmen should get excited with the confidence to break the line – if such batsmen remain in a remarkable summer for inconsistent bouncing and blowing against the helmet – it also brings the quick bowlers of the two parties in the comparison.
In addition to competing with each other, Jofra Archer and the Australian left-poor Mitchell Starc, if selected, will compete with the speedgun.
A quick throw at Old Trafford this week brings Mitchell Starc in the comparison for Australia
He and Jofra Archer will not only compete against each other, but also the speed gun
Not only that, ma The Manchester field is expected to start dry and cracked, which will be interesting for Jack Leach, the slow left-poorer of England, and Nathan Lyon, the off-spinner of Australia.
Even part-timers Joe Root and Marnus Labuschagne can imagine their chances. If there is a chance to make large runs, this can be uncomfortably small.
That suggests that the captain who wins the throw will have to hit, but that is the vulnerability of both line-ups that even the first use of the surface may not be quite the advantage it should be.
Only once did a team reach 300 in their first innings: England made 374 with Edgbaston in a game they were going to lose. Other than that, the bowlers have waving.
Australia Captain Tim Paine and Coach Justin Langer inspect the Old Trafford field
Steve Smith gets all hands and feet on view the field for the fourth Ashes Test competition
Australia has 28 4 passed only once in all series, in the second innings in Edgbaston, where England was a man down because of Jimmy Anderson & Ashes-ending calf injury. England has meanwhile been fired for the first test for 146 and 67 for the third test.
Australia has an average of 30 per wicket, only one time worse in an axis since 1989. England hasn't even been that good, on average 27, their lowest home against the Australians since they last lost in 2001 in this country.
Add up the averages of the two parties, and you have to go back to 1997 for a lower collective figure in an axis. Steve Waugh has returned for a new stint as a mentor to the Australian team, originally only hired for the first two tests.
Very simply, only four batsmen – two on each side – have much of an impression on surfaces whose dryness makes them more & # 39; up and down & # 39; has made than normal, according to Australian coach Justin Langer.
England & # 39; s Ben Stokes scored 327 runs in the series so far with an average of 81
The tourists will find comfort in the fact that their two most successful batsmen, Steve Smith (378 runs on 126) and Labuschagne (213 on 71) , still in the same innings, after Smith was excluded halfway through the second test with Lord after his blow to Archer's head. The two scored 37 percent of their points.
For England, Ben Stokes (327 points out of 81) is in a class of his own, while Rory Burns (242 out of 40) is the only other player in the series averaging more than 32.
So despite Broad's forecast might not get much easier in Manchester. In addition to Archer and Starc, Pat Cummins is not slow, while Broad bowls faster than ever.
Stokes occasionally played 90mph, with Josh Hazlewood not far behind.
It could come down to who of Smith or Stokes has the skill – and taming the bowling. Just don't expect 500 plays 450.
