Mirage runs his digits over a datapad shelf, idly noting a few titles, before his attention shifts fully once more to Soundwave, offering an incline of his helm.

"Positive." He murmurs. "I... enjoyed crafting them. That is payment enough, from you. And... I will still be charging most mecha, of course." He adds.

"... The gifts were successful then?" He adds.

Viridian allows herself to be pounced, then picks up the bitlet and holds him over her head, laughing and letting go for half a sparkbeat only to catch him immediately. Silverwing taught her to do it, though both of their mothers informed her that you have to be a lot more careful with bitlets who aren't jetlings. But here he can only fall onto the couch, and she doesn't let him fall.

Viridian can put words in Sparkthief's mind, just like MamaWave does.

She doesn't talk out loud much and when she does her voice sounds like it's hurting, even if she's happy.

But she plays music, and after she's caught him a few times, she dances around on the floor to it. His feet don't touch the floor, but that means he can do anything he wants with his feet and not have to worry about falling so long as he doesn't kick her by accident.

After a little while she will have to do some of the same things with Catfish so Catfish doesn't feel left out. But not until Catfish wakes up from her nap.

"Viridian: is going out with Silverwing tonight?" Soundwave inquires. "You do not have to watch sparklings all day, though help when I cook is appreciated."

Viridian laughs.

She can also play other people's words with her speakers or even make words with her hands, and sometimes she does that too, but Soundwave is totally fine with her doing exactly what he can do.

Howlback's not a cassette anymore, but she was a Recorder before she was a cassette and she still is. As Soundwave addresses Tyrest, she says one word.

Ravi hates being pet by strangers because it's a microaggression. Even though they claim to recognise her as a person and a sapient being, they wouldn't reach out to another mech and pat them on the head.

Some people will do it to sparklings, but only if they're unfamiliar with Vosni, Praxian, Kaonite, or Predacon sparklings...who bite.

And tail grabs are double that because they're painful, especially for her--she's had a lot of spinal injuries because she used to have missile launchers attached to her aft end.

Ravi, and the other feliformers I have known less well than I know my conjunx, are actually very affectionate beings, just like this organic cat--with people they know, love, and trust. Sadly, they have to discipline themselves to show affection only in private, because too many idiots out there think that if a big cat is cuddling me, she will snuggle with all of them, because they are not imaginative enough to comprehend that she is my wife.

Anyhow, I love this video, as it reminds me of experiences I've had with Ravi, her siblings, our children, and their children. My purring conjunx and my purring children all piled on me and anyone else who is lucky enough to be sharing the couch or the berth at that time.

Soundwave lets Mirage into the habsuite. "Waiting long?" It's clear from his field that he hopes not.

He goes directly into the kitchen once they are both inside. "In luck! There is still some of yesterday's cake. Glycol soaked all the way through. Prefer sponge cakes the second day, but children do not like to wait."

(There were actually two cakes, but most of the second is left.)

Soundwave would ask what size piece Mirage wants but he knows that Mirage will not ask for a big one even if he does want it. So he'll get the big one, and...so will Soundwave. It's been a long afternoon; they deserve it.

"No, not long." Mirage replies, inclining his helm gracefully and following Soundwave into the habsuite with less hesitation than before. He's finally starting to feel comfortable, even when Jazz isn't around to act as a buffer.

A pause, though brief, as he accepts the offered cake slice. "I have to agree. Leaving it for a day allows the flavors to settle and soak through." He murmurs.

you're choking on how much you have to try.

you have tried. you have carried the weight of the world on your shoulders and accepted more responsibilities than you have ever wanted, even intended to gain. it isn't crushing - you are strong enough to hold it - but you are choking. you don't know what to do with it. you don't know where it goes, how to move this weight everyone knows you can hold onto, and do you even want to get rid of it? Never. You would not give this to - force this on - anyone else. but you /can't/. but you are choking on it. your body will hold it up even when you lose all the air in your lungs, and your footing, and your courage. it does not mind choking you. it seems almost designed to do so. if you weren't wrung out you wouldn't be doing this thing properly.
