Had a huge thought but it ended up just boiling down to how I think people should focus less of their energy on shipping or whatever but also do what you want just don't be a misogynist i don't know
#I think it ultimately doesn't matter except when it becomes a problem#If that makes sense#What spurred this thought was vivaxbarb stuff#Because it kinda felt like people saw the canon straightness or whatever#And went oh well ok we'll just use this other poppy who cares#Sorta just immediately shipping viva away instead of focusing on what makes her interesting and unique#Especially since poppy n barb was a ship because of their in canon relationship and dynamics#Which actually make sense and work really well as a lesbian couple#I love poppy n barb together it works so well#Plus poppy has two hands brother#But viva and barb haven't even met and probably won't have that same dynamic#So it feels like people are treating viva as poppy 2 with just a disregard for her as her own character#Which. Idk. Strange.#I'm reading too far into it but like#I don't see people doing like Synth x one of branchs brothers or anything because branch is in a relationship already or whatever#I think ultimately it's a harmless ship#That's indicative of a greater issue#Which is seeing women characters as just.
