●Name(s): I go by Iris and Ray. Ray's my middle name (actually, it's Raymond). Iris is just my deadname with a few extra steps.

●# of pets & their names: a dog and a cat. Their names are Cookie (chose it when I was 12. He almost got named after a French YouTuber who turned out to be a despicable person...) and Bianca (the neighbours named her, she was their cat before she chose us instead).

●Fandoms: Depending on which social media I'm on, I can be in different fandoms... Here, on Tumblr, I am more connected to the classic rock fandom, especially The Kinks' fandom. I'm also really into Cheap Trick, and many, many other bands but these two are my favourites among my favourites. I currently hyperfix on the Pretty Things, as well as CSNY (+bands related to them, but mainly the Byrds & Buffalo Springfield). I don't really talk about it here, but I like visual kei too. And rhythm games ! I play, or have played at one point, at a lot of rhythm games in my free time... Love Live, Bandori, D4DJ, Idolmaster, Project Sekai, World Dai Star... I also like anime like Mobile Suit Gundam, my favourite series from it is Iron-Blooded Orphans. I enjoy Black Clover, Bocchi the Rock and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, but I am not in their fandoms. I have like 200 mangas at home (my sister has around 300? 400, 500 I think?). I already listed way too many fandoms, and I'm not even done yet. I had so many hyperfixations listing them would take hours.

●Hobbies: Drawing... Trying out foods... Video Games... I haven't changed much since middle school. I always thought I was exaggerating because it was the hobbies everyone in the Hetalia fandom had, but no, these are really my hobbies.

●Favorite fic type: the group chat-style ones. Thinking about it, after writing a now-deleted fanfic in this style, group chat-style fanfics are some of the hardest to write, because it seems so simple it can quickly go out of board. Basically I like fics that are more /j than /srs.

●Favorite holiday: Christmas and New Year, because I get to eat, and I get presents. I guess the same can be said for my birthday.

-I first started to write fanfictions on Wattpad... It was Assassination Classroom and Hetalia fanfictions.

-I once faked another identity on the Internet (French Wattpad) because my mother found my account and started looking at everything I posted there... In retrospect, I think she was trying to protect me.

-I have incredibly bad spending habits... Thankfully, I managed to find a solution to this, by taking pictures of what I consider buying, then taking time (can go from an hour to a year depending on the situation) to think about if I really want it, and when it's set in my mind, and if I can still buy it, I buy it.

-I had somewhat of a gap between my front teeth. Then I had to get my teeth fixed and now I don't have it anymore.

-I'm majoring in English and Mandarin Chinese languages. I'm also going to learn Korean soon... Did 2 years of Japanese back in middle school... I also did German for three years, but I remember nothing.

They Let Me Back In!

Somehow, during the fun Tumblr updates where they added new buttons to everything, my Tumblr got vanished for no known reason. I went to log on and got a screen saying my account was terminated.

No email.

No explanation.

Just banishéd.

That was Saturday night in Korea (which is where I currently live) and so I sent an email the following morning. And 24 hours after that. Then remembered Tumblr is in English and they probably follow more American hours and might not work weekends (because some people get time off? this may be a rumor).

So I waited, debating making a new account.

And Thursday morning (Korean time) I had an email saying it was just a mistake, sorry, here's your account back and everything was restored.

So... what did I learn?

I am probably using Tumblr too much... I click on Tumblr mid-workflow because I want to think. I want to scroll mindlessly looking at shiny, happy, dopamine-producing things while my brain works over a bigger problem in the background. I was aware of this already. I use Twitter for news, FB for networking, and Tumblr for thinking. I wasn't aware of how much I relied on it to be my think-y place until it wasn't there. I probably need to replace some of my Tumblr time with exercise, meditation, or a non-screen something just to rest my eyes.

I need to back up things better... One of my RL jobs is editing fiction and nonfiction for small presses and authors who hire me to freelance for them. Because Tumblr is where I talk about fandom it also has references to costume design, speech therapy, and literary nuance that I haven't put on my professional blog because it isn't related to my books (and also because I kinda hate blogging and updating my website?). The problem here is that Tumblr can delete my entire account without warning but Wordpress can't because I paid for the domain name and product. Wordpress can stop working, but the links will still work because the domain name stays the same. A big project for this week is moving all my reference posts over to the website and saving them to my external harddrive for reference (and also reference books I intend to pub next year).

I missed you???? ... Weird as it sounds since I don't actually know most my Tumblr mutuals in RL, I missed seeing your latest hyperfixations and GIFS. I hope you're all doing okay.

Anyways... Tumblr staff let me back in and I'm here until they get worried about where I'm logging in from again (the non-editing RL job has me moving more than usual and using a VPN thing so I can log into US websites like Office Depot...).

TL:DR - My life got a little weirder than usual and Tumblr deleted me but then apologized and I'm back, but still weird. :)

MY FAVE MEMBER. is. no surprise. SONG JIHYO. aka goddess and best at everything. i think i’m very drawn to personalities that always dominate n come out on top. jihyo isn’t really known for being the ace of running man anymore but in my heart she always is :( i also am a HUGE fan of her goddess of luck image like she isn’t as crazily lucky these days bc kwangsoo (icon of misfortune) is gone but if anything makes me believe in supernatural like. the concept of LUCK being a real force in the universe it would be because of her. the way she overcomes odds n comes out on top despite being a bit of an underdog in many situations is SO hot to me. here’s some pictures of her

she’s like. u know how george is like effortlessly pretty despite being just so idc about it? yeah thats HER like she doesn’t give a shit she just wakes up rolls out of bed n goes to work. she falls asleep everywhere too. one time they played giant jenga and one of them had to be on top of the jenga as a ‘risk’ for the jenga tower dying n at the time running man was 6 men 1 woman (her) and they asked her to do it bc they were all scared n she’s the bravest member (she once bungee jumped off a 233m tall building to HELP one of them she literally didnt have to either she just went WEEEEE they all worship the ground she walks on out of respect shes just so cool)

ANYWAY FAVE EP…. there are so many. i swear to god. but if i were to recommend episodes to start w i’d say the superpowers episode? when they all had superpowers n had to fight to the death (ep74) and the second yoomes bond ep (ep91, i LOVE yoo jaesuk my beloved nation’s mc), the princess race ep (ep103), n park jisung soccer eps (95, 96, 97) OH FUCK THE ZOMBIE EP WHEN THEY WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL WAS FUCKING SICK TOO (ep98) and like uhhhh the baseball ep!! (ep119) and i’ll stop here bc the second people realize i have many episode numbers memorized i’ll look like a crazy person

BUT TO BE FAIR running man is the most popular korean variety show ever these mfs are straight up like A KPOP GROUP. they’ve held fan meetings which r straight up CONCERTS they sing dance etc etc they’re CRAZY u don’t GET IT they are a PHENOMENON,,, jackie chan was on this show RYAN REYNOLDS N TOM CRUISE WERE ON THIS SHOW

running man is literally what happens if u put a bunch of singers, actors, and comedians together n made them do crazy shit (literally everything under the sun has happened on running man. name anything PG. they prob did it on running man) AND THEY BECAME A FOUND FAMILYYYY and its so funny

i think joongki is so sweet n my beloved but i think ultimately him leaving helped the RM dynamic tighten up?? n it improved bc of it?? idk tho maybe itd be just as good if he stayed. i also was a tiny bit upset when gary left n it hurt the show for a while :( gary was so funny but also I HATE MONDAY COUPLE. FUCK MONDAY COUPLE IT TRAPPED JIHYO FOR SO LONG I HATED THAT SHIT. like its so crazy too bc imo they should never have had a loveline but if anything… do it w jongkook the one guy whos actually hot n has enough chemistry w her? they literally were called a ‘power duo’ all the time like brooooo i was so oppressed for liking their dynamic :( BUT HAHAHAHAHAH NOW JONGKOOK N JIHYO R FLIRTING ON THE SHOW ITS SO FUNNYYYY like yaaaassss straightbaiting 😍 its so funny too like there were times when monday couple was a Thing so the other members couldn’t “ship” other pairings but sometimes jongkook n jihyo would be so sus that they couldn’t help BUT say something u know but NOW ALL THE MEMBERS ARE FREE. yoo jaesuk risks his life every week to ship them and the others LOVE to fucking tease them

also kwangsoo leaving made me really sad but his injuries were too bad for him to risk his body every week like that :( all the members have slipped disks n severe back problems because of all the ways they hurt themselves making the show :( i hope kwangsoo comes back to guest soon tho like hes not Permanently gone the way gary is like gary straight up refuses to ever be on running man ever again LOL
