⬇ btw I'm gonna rant about charpim bc i love them (i will explain why)

i love charpim so soooomuch its sooo awesome seeing two people in loooveee with eachootherrr i loveeecharpim they have so much chemistry and i love it -

and i love how they love each other so much and they're already so gay that even if they randomly decided to start dating their relationship would not change at all like literally they would stay the same - except maybe hold hands and kiss more often. they already act like they cuddle with eachotehr at night idk IM SO THANKFUL THEY EXIST and the fact they've known each other over 7 years is so omg!

they KNOW each other - ALSO has anybody else noticed how Charlie and Pim's relationship progresses really well in season 2 like omg they're so close and so learning about eachotehr and Charlie kissed Pim which is a big deal (at least to me) bc Pim kisses everyone but Charlie kisses NOBODY! and he kissed PIM!

sorry. ik the kiss probably means nothing its more than likely just for comedic/shock value (or maybe even fan service) but i really love Charlie and Pim's relationship, even seeing them just as friends makes me happy, i just think they fit eachother so well like perfectly built puzzle pieces. Pim fills in for the things that Charlie isn't good at and Charlie fills in for the things that Pim isnt good at, i lovr them so much they complete eachotehr oh i love seeing people care about eachother its just so awesome!

and has anybody else noticed how Pim and Charlie have had negative interactions with most other characters, but Pim and Charlie seem to have less negative interactions with eachother? often finding peace in one another? its like the world is out to get them but they still stick together even when theyre mad at each other because they care and they really do just love eachother weither thats in a romantic or platonic way it doesn't matter- they just love eachotehr GOSH. they're so amazing PLEASE tell me someone agrees-

I have brought you all much charpim happiness so now it is time for angst! I apologize in advance if this rips out someone's soul.

I've been thinking about charlie's pessimistic point of view on life and how it could tie into why a relationship between him and Pim could be dysfunctional: Charlie grew up with an uncle who did take care of him but shared the philosophy that the world is a fucked up place sometimes, people are shitty to each other, and it just is what it is. This belief was intensified after Charlie's parents got divorced and basically wrote him off as their kid, which is why they're never mentioned. Charlie's ideology of the world clashes with Pim's because he wants to make other people's lives better than his own childhood was, so it doesn't fall apart like his own homelife did growing up. His parents probably had the ability to be good people but they grew to resent each other and its possible Amy saw this then blamed her little brother. In short Pim doesn't want to accept that there are people who you can't help or he's incapable of "fixing their life" (aka making them smile) while Charlie has accepted reality as it is and is annoyed at Pim's outlook on life. Buuuuuut below the surface Charlie doesn't want to get close to Pim and allow his pessimism to diminish the light that Pim brings to the world. So they're both wearing masks and are reluctant to share that with each other.

This whole thing was inspired by a quote from Dante Paladino (I believe) that describes them well: "I think you have to live through what love is not before you can truly appreciate what love is."

Nah. I'm not too interested in it either.

A new character named Scribbly is introduced and becomes the girlfriend of Charlie and Pim. In the process, Charlie and Pim come to the realization that they're in love with each other as well. They become a polycule, and Scribbly becomes a semi-reoccurring character.

I wouldn't really mind hanging out with any of them! But uhh ranked it'd be Pim > Charlie > Allan > Glep

No, but I wish I did! Even if I don't have anything I can watch it on :[

ironically i’m not going to go into don’t fill up on chips (i have a little comic i might scribble up but we’ll see. sorry don’t fill up on chips charpim lovers)

anyway. to me, charpim almost doesn’t work out, i feel like. very pit in stomach feeling, you know? they eventually get together and everything is awesome, but the platonic to romantic shift strikes me as a tough transition. they already have a good relationship outside of work and they both go into it thinking nothing will be different.

charlie gets a little distant for a plethora of reasons, including but not limited to the pressure of fucking up and Catholic Boy Blues. with any other guy it would matter significantly less but seven years etc etc. there’s this yearning for the past because what has already happened is definite. going forward, while this situation is supposed to be objectively better, it’s new and fucking horrifying.

pim gets super confused—especially since it was going so well at first. so he pulls back, thinks he’s coming on too strong. he tries to talk with charlie but charlie is so extremely quick to insist everything is fine to the point pim gives up fast. very sleeping in the same bed facing different directions and making breakfast together in an unwanted silence kind of vibe. don’t get me started on the “i love you” “love you too” that’s mostly exchanged through texts. the thought of existing this way kills both of them.

eventually they have their little talk (screaming and crying fest) and it’s okay, they’re stronger than ever, all of that. it just takes a second to get there.

i wish i was better at articulating anything lmfao!! anyway that’s kind of my preface thing to my little ��weave” i guess. both povs present, timeline-ish if you squint. i hope any of this is coherent 🫶
