My favourite piece of music ever recorded is that of Henryk Gorecki - Symphony No. 3 (Symphony of Sorrowful Songs). As I was randomly searching through YouTube a suggested video came up of Colin Stetson's re-imagining of Gorecki's 3rd Symphony. I was instantly put off by this and thought 'how dare you!' Well, how wrong I was... I was instantly captivated by this wonderful re-interpretation and instantly had to purchase it for my collection (which is beautiful by the way). For anyone who knows Gorecki's 3rd Symphony well I suggest you listen to Colin Stetson's version as it is just as powerful. It's like a post-rock masterpiece that even outshines the likes of Godspeed You!
