Soorma: The Box Office Collection Of Diljit Dosanjh Starrer Movie

New Delhi: The biopic of Sandeep Singh, Soorma which features Diljit Dosanjh had a slow start, last Friday due to the clash with Hollywood movie Ant-Man And The Wasp but the film performed way better over the weekend. Soorma garnered over Rs. 19 crores at the box office, after six days of its run at the theatres. Taran Adarsh, the trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. He predicted that the biopic based on Hockey captain Sandeep Singh will close with Rs. 21 crores on week 1. That means, the movie needs to earn another two crores from Day 7 collections. Taran Adarsh wrote, "Soorma should collect Rs. 21 cr in Week 1, as per trending... Weekend 2 is crucial... Fri 3.20 cr, Sat 5.05 cr, Sun 5.60 cr, Mon 2 cr, Tue 1.94 cr, Wed 1.77 cr. Total: Rs. 19.56 cr."

Soorma's second weekend collection will be crucial, as Janhvi Kapoor's debut film Dhadak arrives in theatres tomorrow. The movie, Dhadak has garnered massive interest and might overshadow, the sports biopic.

MCU's Ant-Man And The Wasp's earned more than Soorma on opening day. The Hollywood flick has collected over Rs. 24 crores and counting.

In their review of Soorma, dailyadda wrote, "Once again we witness a great acting performance in a biopic as the famous Punjabi singer turned actor is spot on with his portrayal of Sandeep Singh.   The movie tells the story of rise of Sandeep Singh to the international circuit and then going through a freaky accident and then rising back again. Despite having an incredibly inspiring story to tell, the movie still fails to deliver what the trailer promised.  The movie lacks the inspiring touch that it should have. The movie focuses quite a bit on Sandeep’s love angle. However, the movie lacks the heart of a sports film."
