Not Arthurian—but in the process of transferring my entire films/shows collection to MEGA drive and could share it if there’s interest. I say this as there may be some crossover of interest here for you followers as a lot of it is fantasy, horror, history, and cartoons. It’s a lot of stuff that has inspired me as a creator so I want to keep track of it.

I have every Tolkien-universe film or show ever made including the old animated ones and the Soviet one all the way up to Rings of Power. I have every Sonic the Hedgehog tv show or film from Sonic Underground to the newish Sonic Prime show and second film awaiting the third. All The Addam’s Family from the black and white live action and the 90s films up to the new animated films, every Blair Witch project even the bad ones, biopics on Tolkien, Elton John, Freddie Mercury etc. lots of vampire films from classic Nosferatu to The Little Vampire and the Twilight Saga, all of Black Sails, Castlevania, Penny Dreadful, Willow the 80s movie and the 2022 show they deleted off Disney+, same with Dark Crystal both the 80s film and the 2019 show.

And in the spirit of Halloween, I’m currently grabbing both Hocus Pocus films, fun witch movies from the 90s like Practical Magic, and a variety of horror like The Craft and Saw and Nightmare on Elm Street. You get the idea.

I’m a digital hoarder, we know this, but might as well use up the space on MEGA drive I pay for and will never ever fill with Arthuriana there simply isn’t enough. If anyone wants this stuff just let me know, I got you.

Pitch Me your thing!

HELLO HELLO MY SUNBEAMS. For most every category, there was an impressive turn-out for pitches, so I thought we’d utilize the weirdness of this year’s GIFTENING to give something new a try. The popular vote winner for each category will happen on the first day, but on the second, the winner will be chosen from YOUR PITCHES. Mostly those pitches will be to me. The exception is in Miscellaneous, where you’ll be pitching to my family, because what I want to do and what is most entertaining isn’t necessarily the same thing.

So! How will we do this thing? GLAD YOU ASKED. I’ll link you to a form in a minute with space for one pitch. Once you fill it out, you’ll be asked if you want to do another. There’s no limit to the number of pitches you can send in! But remember that if you submit multiple entries for the same category, you’ll basically be competing against yourself.

NOW WE’VE GOT SOME RULES FOR DOING THIS (which I mostly stole from Holligay, because I have no creativity this year). Please read them carefully! I’ll toss pitches that break any of these, and I’d rather your hard work not go to waste.

What is the AkumaVerse?

Its basically what I call all the comics I work on. From AkumaTh’s Comics to GLAB and everything between and around it. I’ve been going on for almost 20 years and based on that alone I should have enough content to have research done if Death Battle gets desperate and use my own creations (which I doubt will happen in a million years). But for fun I decided to make 5 picks from my works that could work for Death Battle and show you guys what I want to see in suggestions. Because next week I want to make another list of OCs and AUs of others and would like your input on it. Just leave a reply.

RULES for that list and this one:

The AU Character picked has to have a divergence from the original. For example, Thunderbolt in my comics is pretty much Thunderbolt from Archie Sonic, only under a different Eggman Rule. Cassia and Clove in my comics, on the other hand, are those that found a way to be free and find a solution to Cassia’s sickness.

The Character pick has to be unique from the others. For example, it would be boring if everyone was just a DB-ish type character. So more variety, the better.

This is in no particular order.

1 - Juliet Suter

While she’s not much of a fighter, I think Juliet’s story would be interesting to discuss in a Death Battle. After all, not only is her story vastly different from the character she was inspired from, she’s also has a meta backstory that would be the focal point for why she would be one. I even wrote a script for a supposed fight with Julie-Su. And spoilers for the future, she’s not going to be a gunsmith that rivals Vash or suddenly gain Dragon Ball levels of strength. But she’s going to be a little more tiny and toony.

2 - Green Lantern Apple Bloom

Its Apple Bloom with a Green Lantern ring. And you’ve seen how powerful a Green Lantern can be through Hal Jordan. Though Apple Bloom isn’t near that level yet. But still with a Green Lantern Ring and the attitude of an Apple, GLAB can bring something unique that another Lantern or Pony wouldn’t bring. And she could be put against the Reboot Blossom since they’re both bow wearers who fights using energy constructs. And both try to be mature despite their ages.

3 - The Undertaker

Big Bad and an original character, the Undertaker brings a lot from backstory to power load out. While he does have a lot of DB-ish moves, he also gotten abilities and skills from a wide assortment of franchises. TVTropes said it best: he’s Megamaning. With the right opponent, like lets say Vegeta during the Cell Saga, he may turn from unlikely to win to definitely going to win. As for an opponent that could fit him, August from Fairy Tale seems like someone who could give Taker a run for his money.

4 - Sombra

Technically his divergence comes from the IDW Comic series, but since the official series reversed it I think its safe to say he would be vastly different. An Umbrum who was sent to the pony World to release them. He was grown up and raised in the Crystal Empire where the events of Season 3′s opener and the IDW Stories happened. While he still has difficulty being within the Crystal Heart’s activation, he’s still strong enough to stay together. As for an opponent, I think only the Canon Sombra would be the true challenge. A battle between a villain with a backstory Vs a villain with none.

5 - Akuma the Hedgehog (art from Mamion Grenado)

The big red Hedgehog I was known for for most of my online life. So he holds a special place in my heart. His DB-ish moves are given a Street Fighter flair and he has moves you wouldn’t expect from a Shoto Clone. He is my Goku as he loves to fight and looks to improve himself for that. 

What about others?

Other Lanterns - As I said, have to be unique from each other. So an MLP Character with a Lantern Ring can only be done with one character. Apple Bloom being the main one of the bunch. As for Superman, he’s basically the same character only stronger.

The Powerpuff Girls - My version of the Powerpuff Girls and villains are just older (outside Buttercup with a ring), the Powerpuff Girls as kids should be in Death Battle before any other versions, including my own. As for Bailey, outside being a daughter of one, she’s still just your basic Powerpuff.

Kari - It was between her and Akuma to be on the list. And despite the similar move list (same teacher) they do have vastly different personalities, upbringings and even fighting styles. Despite that, same style of Hadouken, Dragon Punch, Hurricane Kick and Raging Demon. So had to pick the one made first.

Sonic Cast - They been on Death Battle plenty of times and I’m pretty sure they’ll be back. Why throw in more?

Other Ponies - A majority of them are the same as the main canon. So no point bringing that up.

Код новой консоли от Nintendo содержит у��оминания готовящихся к релизу игр.

На Reddit уже с месяц есть интересный пост со списком возможных релизов на Nintendo Switch на ближайшие два года. Данные, по словам автора, взяты не с горы, а прямиком из упомянутой консоли. Информация о списке найденных игр почти не появлялась в СМИ и пабликах. Я бы и сам прошел мимо, если бы игры из списка постепенно не начали анонсировать сами издатели. После такого хочется вновь взглянуть на старый список и поразмышлять, что из упомянутого стоит ждать, а что не очень.

Откуда вообще взялся этот список? Анонимный датамайнер порылся в коде свича, видимо, после обновления системы, и обнаружил там «ячейки» для готовящемся к релизу играм. Записаны они были в качестве двоичного кода. После расшифровки и появился список игр.

Я пишу этот материал 25-го марта. Уже вышедшие на Nintendo Switch игры из списка я рассматривать не буду и по возможности удалю их из списка. А для начала, остановлю внимание на проектах, что анонсировали недавно. В период с 25-го февраля и до 25 марта, то есть с момента публикации списка и по текущий день.

Разобрать оставшиеся игры у меня попросту не хватило сил. Поэтому они идут сплошным текстом. Некоторые проекты из списка могут быть уже анонсированы или даже быть добавлены в библиотеку Nintendo Switch. Извиняюсь за некоторое лентяйство.

Но, перед публикацией списка хочется сделать какие-то выводы. Это тяжело, ведь вся ситуация вполне может оказаться фэйком. Но вот два несомненных факта: 

Большие издатели заинтересованы в выпуске своих игр на Switch. 

Сама Nintendo продолжит эксплуатировать свои классические игры и перевыпускать ее на все более актуальных платформах.

Which "Eggman's base/hideout" level do you like best?

Not an easy question for me, as I like a significant number of them due to how they show off the doctor’s personality in different ways. His taste in variety is one of the things I’ve always loved about him, after all.

But if I had to try narrowing it down to a few specific choices…

Scrap Brain - The original Eggman fortress, and a very memorable one to start off the doctor’s legacy. The grim appearance and the variety of traps serve to remind you that for all his theatrics, Robotnik is still dangerous.

Crystal Egg - There may not have been much to it from an actual gameplay standpoint, but it’s still a very interesting subversion of the usual Eggman taste. The idea of a fortress with a deceptively serene aesthetic is something that I wouldn’t mind seeing in a future installment.

Launch Base - A great climactic point for S3&K, and a pretty colorful area in general for a launching site. I like to headcanon that Robotnik purposefully made the place look “nice” in order to further convince Knuckles that he was the good guy.

Death Egg - What list of this sort would be complete without the doctor’s most famous weapon of plagiarism destruction. A whole saga was dedicated to putting this thing down for good (until it eventually appeared in later games anyway), and when you finally get to explore the whole ship come S3&K, it’s a very satisfying experience, and it sets the stage for one of the best Sonic VS Robotnik confrontations in the entire franchise.

Panic Puppet - I just like the idea that Robotnik commissioned someone to make a giant statue of him, and he looked at it and thought it was great but something was missing, and then he concluded that the missing touch in question was “level design”.

Egg Carrier - For a long time, I actually wasn’t as bothered about this one compared to other Eggman strongholds. But over time, I began to appreciate how much character it has, like with the swimming pool and the… uh, wide selection of bathrooms. (Even though Robotnik’s minions are all robots…???)

Final Egg - Again, a lot of character displayed with this place (note the Sonic/Tails/Knuckles targets), provides the Egg Viper confrontation, and interesting in the sense that it’s somewhat random with it’s motif. A tower in the middle of the jungle?

Pyramid Base - Adventure 2 may not be one of my favourites, but it had an excellent idea with this place. Putting your own face on your own property is one thing, but how narcissistic do you have to be when you’re putting your own face on ancient monuments?

Circus Park - ~DUH DUH DUHDUHDUHDUH DUH DUH DUH DUH, DAA DAAAAA~

Pirates’ Island - Hey, Whisker worked for Robotnik, so I’m counting it. Very cool idea for a pirate hideout, and it’s topped off with a catchy 60′s-esque jazz piece while you fight Whisker and Johnny.

Eggmanland - Despite it’s notorious length, Eggmanland is still a high point in Robotnik’s career for coming to fruition after a lifetime’s worth of dealing with hedgehogs who can’t shut their mouths. The resulting part amusement park, part factory, part lava wasteland provides a memorable final challenge, capped off with the Egg Dragoon… Oh, and Dark Gaia, I guess… Eh…

The Amazing Interstellar Amusement Park - Whatever your thoughts are on Colours, I still think the premise of having an entire game take place in a theme park run by Robotnik is brilliant. (Even if Knuckles Chaotix technically did it first.) Not only is each “section” of the park unique, but they’re also complimented by the legendary public announcements.

Press Garden - Robotnik looked at an ancient temple(?) in a beautiful snowy landscape and thought to himself “This would be a great place to make some newspapers.” Sometimes the most ridiculous ideas really do make for memorable levels.

Titanic Monarch - The premise is kickass. The music is kickass. Even the level design, in a departure from your usual slower-paced finales in Genesis era titles, manages to keep up the speedy antics in addition to careful platforming. One thing I really like is how the zone has a foreboding and moody atmosphere and appearance… and yet at the same time, it’s arguably one of the most colorful zones in the franchise. The foreground is red… The background has blues, pinks, and purples… The wires are green and yellow… And that’s just Act 1! Then you actually go inside the damn thing, and they start throwing in some stained glass windows for good measure. Who the hell puts stained glass windows inside a towering mech of doom? Fucking Ivo Robotnik, that’s who.
