Return to Me Chapter 16

The next chapter of Return to Me is up! In which Raihan finds the healing process more difficult than he imagined...

A few weeks later, Raihan had graduated from “bedrest” to “light duty,” which was hardly any better, in his opinion. He was finally allowed to guard Leon again, but only during meetings or while Leon was in his office. While on duty, Raihan was required to sit as much as possible, at the behest of the medics, and he was only on duty for an hour or two at a time before he was relieved and sent to rest. The entire Royal Guard, and even a good portion of the servants and other support staff had banded together to ensure that Raihan had an easy job and a relaxing recovery.

“I hate it,” Raihan complained to Kabu. “I hate being babied and coddled.”

He slouched in a chair in Kabu’s office, long legs sprawled in front of him. His bandages were long removed and his ribs no longer complained every time he took a deep breath, but his knee still had a brace wrapped around it for stability. Even though it was still midafternoon, he’d been relieved for the evening, along with most of the castle staff, on account of it being Midwinter’s Eve. With no other duties to attend to and Leon still working in his office, Raihan had decided to bother Kabu instead.

“You know,” Kabu said as he lightly dipped his quill in an inkwell, “most people would be grateful for the time off, especially around Midwinter.”

“I’ve had nothing but time off!” Raihan said. “I’ve repaired every piece of practice armor and training weapon in the guard stores because I’ve been so bored.”

“And I’m sure they appreciate the contribution that you continue to make, despite the fact that you could have just sat around instead,” Kabu said patiently. “I have some excellent poetry books if you’d rather read something, and I know Sonia always has recommendations…”

Raihan groaned.

“I’m sick of sitting around. I want to get out and do something.”

“And what do the healers think of that idea?” Kabu asked patiently.

“They said I need to be easy on my knee, or it may not heal correctly,” Raihan grumbled.

“Mmhm,” Kabu said, still writing, “and how much longer are you set to be kind to your knee?”

“At least another month,” Raihan said with a sigh. “With the chance of even longer if it isn’t healing the way they want.”

“Then unfortunately, it sounds like you might be stuck doing very little for a while, yet,” Kabu said, finishing off his writing with a slight flourish.

Raihan let out a loud, excessively whiny groan.

“It’s Midwinter tomorrow, and they won’t even let me go outside. They don’t want me to risk slipping on the ice, and it’s supposed to snow tonight. It’s going to be gorgeous, and I can’t go out.”

Camilla is a porcelain doll, daughter of aristocrats who used to live on Inkwell Island (apparently her parents knew forkington's parents)

Her symbol is a Corrupted Heart

Camilla is inspired by a hateful character from an artist I know (if you suspect who he is, please don't tell him, maybe he won't take it easy :v) and another artist I really hate

Camilla was also inspired by Gogo Yubari from Killbill

She is obsessed with Cuphead and mugman, and is a murderous compete (or yandere)

Camilla always has a lot of crazy men for her, but she only wants Cuphead and Mugman

-BIO:

Camilla lived her first 10 years of life on Inkwell Island, since her Porcellana family were aristocratic friends of the Silverworth family (family). Camilla couldn't leave the gardens, since her porcelain was very fragile. Her parents hired Dawn (since she was a babysitter at Inkwell) and when Dawn went to the mansion to take care of her, Dawn brought Cuphead and Mugman with her. Every day, when Camilla's parents went out, Dawn always took cupros with her to take care of everyone with Camilla, and Camilla became more and more attached to them, until... one day everything changed.

One day, Dawn arrived with Camilla along with the cup bros, and with... someone else. One more girl in the group. The new girl was named Sonia, of human kind, and Camilla became jealous of the affection that the cupros had for Sonia. Camilla felt the possession of the cup bros... She couldn't share them with any girl, they were nothing more than hers. It was then, when she did something that would mark her life. She killed Sonia and hid the evidence. Sonia only disappeared, but Camilla had just beaten her and locked her in a well. Everyone seemed concerned, except her, who was finally happy to have her "boyfriends". Each girl who approached them, Camilla beat them privately and warned them not to approach their boys.

She had to leave for reasons of moving. Her entire family finally left Inkwell, years later, Camilla was reunited with the Cupbros, and Camilla was finally happy to have them, until she found out about Ms Chalice. Although she knew that Ms Chalice had a sibling relationship with them, she couldn't bear the idea that "they belong to him." For a long time, Camilla was intimidating her, and torturing her with dark places (warning her to stay away from them). But obviously Camilla didn't know who she was messing with.

The cupbros noticed Camilla's behavior, and as they noted Chalice more isolated. So they tried to talk to her, Camilla had already quoted Chalice in an abandoned construction to "talk to her". But they both started to fight, until Chalice broke her arm. But Camilla had already weakened Ms Chalice, since the katana she owned was anti-magic. Camilla managed to escape, but while she was lamenting, she was found by Kitty, and took advantage of her madness for the cup bros to convince her to join her team of mercenaries.

-Skills:She has the sacred power of Ms Chalice, so she has the magic of the cup bros (that is, the magic of the finger guns) but her magic is a little stronger and she has the other shots. she also has the Parry

-Facts:

Athena is the supreme leader of the Amazonians

Her symbol is a Purified Spade

The eyes of the Amazons are blue, since they inherited for generations the power of the legendary Chalice

She knows that Ms Chalice is the legendary Chalice, and she treats it with respect, since Chalcie is a symbol of the Amazonians

Doesn't trust men

Although she has the magic of the finger guns, she doesn't use her pistol-shaped hand, but instead brings her two fingers together and manages to fire an energy shot a little larger than that of the cup bros, but smaller than that of Ms chalice.

Shes very knowledgeable in battle, and knows other techniques to harness her powers.

She was engaged to the elder kettle

-BIO:

Cup bros had a lot to learn, so Mr. Porkrind managed to take a trip to Amazonia Island. The cup siblings, together with Hilda and Cagney went to the island, the Amazons gave them a warm welcome, but the reason why they arrived was for the leader to teach the cup bros a bit of battle techniques with her magic. Athena refused. Myrina tried to convince her, but to no avail, Cuphead was not entirely interested, but Mugman was very indignant and upset by Athena and how she treated them.

Myrina said, it was only fair that Athena refused to teach them, since they were techniques that only the women of the island knew. Also, that Athena was abandoned for the love of her life a long time ago, and she never married, as she never stopped loving him.

One day Mugman refused to leave the island, if Athena didn't teach them, so he challenge her to a duel. Athena won the battle, but learned (I won't specify how) that they're grandchildren of Elder Kettle, the man who abandoned her for another woman.

Mugman noticed, and Athena revealed that she was engaged to him, and that she loved him very much, but Kettle fell in love with another woman and eloped with her, and they had a daughter. So Athena, although with a broken heart, didn't interfere and let him form his life. So in the end, she agreed to teach the cup bros some extra techniques and tricks.

BNHA x Danganronpa AU

as y’all can tell i’ve been on a bnha stick recently. so i made up some quirks for some danron characters. here they are. im calling the au my dangan academia in case u want to make content for it urself

Makoto Naegi: Helping Hand -  Naegi’s power allows him to double the strength of someone else. Unfortunately, this requires them to hold one of his hands. He can double his own strength by folding his hands, but it’s far from ideal for obvious reasons.

Sayaka Maizono: Spotlight - By looking at someone, she can emit a harsh light from her eyes. It will cause the target to feel something akin to stage fright, unless, of course, they’re a performer/they don’t have stage fright. The effect disappears when she blinks.

Kyouko Kirigiri: Strong Eyes - Kirigiri can see through solid layers, like walls. Of course, she can only see through so many layers at a time, and extensive use makes her eyes burn. She’s great at finding victims trapped in rubble or lost objects. She can also see through skin.

Leon Kuwata: Fireball - By running fast enough, Leon can set his entire body aflame. He can even roll around like a fireball would. The fire goes out if he runs outta stamina. Since he doesn’t train, it’s not very powerful. 

Mondo Oowada: Smokescreen -  Mondo can manipulate smoke. He can make it into an almost solid wall, even. Unfortunately, since he cannot produce smoke himself, he relies on cigarettes, and the exhaust of his motorcycle engine.

Aoi Asahina: Bubble Barrier - Aoi can surround herself with a strong barrier. In combat, it’s kind of lika a hamster ball. If used for too long or made too big, it’ll put strain on her body. And if too much force is applied, it’ll pop.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Silencer - Ishimaru can yell at a high frequency that can deafen an opponent for up to twenty minutes. The deafening won’t happen if you don’t hear it, so it doesn’t work on older people with bad hearing.

Celestia Ludenberg: Twin Drill - Her hair drills can become literal drills that can pierce through most solid objects! She doesn’t like her quirk because it’s “unrefined,” so she pretends to have a psychic quirk. The drills often show when she’s angered.

Chihiro Fujisaki: Plug Tail - Chihiro has a thin, wire-like tail that splits into many different plugs, like usb, micro usb, and a few others. By plugging into a computer, Chihiro can gain information and store it, or recharge, which produces an effect similar to sleeping.

Touko Fukawa: Inkwell - Touko can generate ink from her hands. Or, well, she’s constantly generating it, so she wears special gloves to keep everything from getting messy. When she’s flustered, she makes more ink. It saves her quite a bit of money.

Sonia Nevermind: Encrypter - If her saliva makes contact with someone’s skin, it’ll garble their voice, so that they cannot speak, like when you get the Cthulu role on epicmafia. The effect lasts 20 minutes.

Hiyoko Saionji: Pollen Palms - She can make pollen that comes out of her palms. To those with allergies, she is your worst nightmare.

Mikan Tsumiki: Hair Bandages - Tsumiki’s hair can be cut off and used as bandages that help injuries heal faster. Because of this, her hair is constantly getting chopped off in strange places.

Tsumugi Shirogane: Colorize - Shirogane can absorb the colors of things, similar to the way Marceline from Adventure Time can. She can then use the colors she’s absorbed to change the color of other things.

Kaede Akamatsu: Own Tempo - Kaede can make her heartbeat match the BPM of a song she’s listening to. She can either make herself go slow, or make herself go very fast. Anywhere outside of the 60-500 BPM range is damaging.

Kaito Momota: Saturn’s Rings - Momota can summon up to seven rings around his body. He can throw them like frisbees, or use them to bind opponents like ropes. Summoning all seven rings puts strain on his body, however.

Rantarou Amami: Scanner - By placing his hands on the ground, Amami can scan up to 50 feet in all directions for the presence of living things, which he detects by vibrations in the ground. People can avoid being scanned if they stand completely still.

We were live from The Fan Zone at the Sydney Premiere of 'The Mummy'. Where stars of the film Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Sofia Boutella and Annabelle Wallis walked the black carpet, alongside director Alex Kurtzman. Our video is a compilation of sound recorded as the cast and crew were interviewed by Sonia Kruger and Richard Wilkins. With an overlay of footage taken of the stars meeting fans.

The Mummy is the first in a new franchise created by Universal. Titled Dark Universe. It was recently announced that movies to follow include Bride of Frankenstein, which will be directed by Bill Condon. There will also be films in the future possibly revolving around Invisible Man, Wolf Man, Van Helsing and Creature from the Black Lagoon. In interviews with stars of the current The Mummy it has been revealed Russell Crowe will reprise his role as Dr. Jekyll in a film focusing on the character.
