I MEANT TO SHARE THIS AGES AGO bc I LITERALLY thought of this right after I finished playing Violet but. Angsty AU idea...

What if. Instead of the professor being an AI. It's Arven instead?? But he doesn't actually realize he's an AI? 👀

The real Arven died from his injuries when he came down into Area Zero to look for his parent with Mabosstiff and got attacked by a mysterious Paradox Pokemon (I'm thinking the one recorded in the Violet/Scarlet book). Mabosstiff was gravely injured but managed to survive while Arven...didn't

The professor kinda loses it at this point (fair, since they lost their kid) and spends the next couple years feverishly trying to build a robot in Arven's likeness

AI Arven is powered by a combination of a Tera Orb (inside his chest!) and a powerful motor charged by Miraidon's electricity. This actually allows him to exist outside of Area Zero, unlike the AI professor who can't leave the Zero lab

I'm still trying to figure out plot details bc 1. I want to make it so that the professor has to stay within Area Zero and 2. They're doing everything in their power to make sure Arven never comes down there again. Maybe bc it'll upset his systems or the Tera Orb will resonate with the Tera Crystals and screw things up or SOMETHING to that effect lol

The real tragic thing is that the professor knows the original Arven is dead, but they're holding on to some delusional fantasy that he's actually fine. Make this worse by the fact that they have to be separated from the AI;; they can only do so much watching their creation through cameras and security footage to see how Arven's doing :'(

Not to mention Arven's absolute mental breakdown when he finds out he's not actually human. RIP
