unsure if this has been asked before, but what does fpk think about the 5 knights of hallownest now? i forgot what was said about ogrim in your post about dirtmouths residents, but would it be safe to assume that he shares a good relationship with him? (and would that also go for kindly isma, since ogrim and her were close?)
and as a little extra because i cant forget about the man himself, has grimm heard of them? whats his opinion on them?
if you dont have anything for this at the moment, its completely fine! i love your art and lore, and hope to see more from you in the future :'))
oh, no, i haven't actually been asked about the other knights!
i did mention before that fpk and ogrim have a very good relationship. during fpk's rule and before grimm came into the picture, ogrim was the closest thing fpk had to a best friend. i picture ogrim as someone who has a very welcoming aura that follows him, he's the kind of guy you just feel comfortable and relaxed around. he has a very positive attitude, which is something that fpk needed very much. they weren't that close back then - ogrim was still a royal knight, and fpk did not want to get too personal as in his (frankly misguided) mind, that was not proper for a king. so while they did chat more frequently than fpk did with other knights (or even the white lady, he was very paranoid about upsetting her so he tried to avoid bothering her with his problems), there was still a barrier that didn't get broken until after fpk's hibernation
like you mentioned, since isma and ogrim were close, i imagine fpk also knew her a bit more personally than the other knights. i think she was described as kind and understanding, and fpk naturally sort of gravitates towards those traits. so i could see them being friendly with each other at the time, even if i wouldn't necessarily call them friends, but that's mainly because, as i said before, fpk had the tendency to avoid personal interactions out of fear of irritating others
as for the rest of the knights, i don't think he would be close with any of them. their relationship was that of a king and his knights, based on respect and loyalty, but not much besides that on a more personal front. dryya was certainly closer with the white lady, so perhaps he interacted with her more for that reason alone? but that's honestly as far as it would go, i reckon. ze'mer seems quite mysterious so i doubt he would know a lot about her, and as for hegemol, i could see fpk finding his large stature quite intimidating. i'm not sure, i haven't really thought much about the knights aside from ogrim. i know for a fact that fpk held a lot of respect for all of them, but because of his own struggles and fears, he never really got to know most of them personally. so he wouldn't be able to really say much about them, unfortunately
now, when it comes to grimm, he's certainly heard of them, and most likely interacted with all of them to some extent. he would visit the palace quite often, at least for someone who travels constantly, so he inevitably bumped into them on multiple occasions. i could see some of them not really trusting him very much, considering his nature and the fact that he can be quite... let's say, unpredictable. he is no stranger to annoying others for his own amusement, so if any of the knights disliked him for whatever reason, he wouldn't be opposed to bothering them if he got a chance. but most of the time he just walked past them on his way to meet fpk, since that was the only reason why he visited in the first place
he does get to know ogrim better since they both end up in dirtmouth, and i think he holds a lot of respect for him (though he can't forget the horrible smell he had to endure when ogrim first arrived in town), mainly because of his friendship with fpk. unlike wyrm, who does open up more after moving to dirtmouth, grimm remains difficult to approach. naturally, after so many years of avoiding any form of attachment, it's hard for him to befriend others, and his intimidating aura does nothing to help others trust him. but with ogrim's positive nature, i think it's just a matter of time until they become friends
i hope this isn't too messy! like i said, i haven't really thought about the knights a lot before, but this was a nice opportunity to do so! even if it means i'm kind of making it up as i go hahah
but still, thank you for the ask, and for your kind words! ❤
