WHEN DO YOU GAZE AT YOUR SOULMATE?

SOMA: when they're unaware.

they don't always see you. but that's a good thing. this is when you love them most. when they are so absorbed in their thoughts you can just sit there and enjoy them existing. it's the way they move through the world which made you fall in love. the grace with which they walk their path. the stubbornness. the dedication. they know their place in the universe and somehow, that makes you feel a little more confident in your existence too. they know who and what they are and there is nothing more beautiful to you than the ability to witness it all. in the simple things and the big things. the expressions they make when they think no one is looking. the way they laugh when they're not holding back. the little swears under their breath for no one but themselves. you love it all and you want to spend the rest of your life being their life's witness.

NAOTORA: when they're getting ready for the day.

this is all you've ever wanted. you and them and the promise of a future. you should be getting ready too. but you lay in bed for a moment, still feeling the traces of their warmth on the sheets, their scent on your skin. you watch how carefully they choose their outfit for the day. you watch as they pair the colors. you memorize that face they make when they stand at the mirror checking every detail. you savor how routine it is. you savor it because you both earned it. there is something precious in the domesticity and you vow to never take it for granted.

#muse: date soma.#muse: takeda naotora.#* date soma. / development.#* takeda naotora. / development.#THESE ARE SO ACCURATE AHHH #Soma stopping by the clinic every so often; not necessarily to talk to Seiroku but to watch him go about his job for a bit #Soma barely sparing anyone else a glance on Seiroku's bday bc he was too busy looking at Seiroku laugh and chat with the others #Soma just. noticing Seiroku every time bc his gaze /is/ always drawn to Seiroku even when Seiroku's not doing anything out of the ordinary #atp if Seiroku turns to look at Soma it's an 80/20 if Soma's already looking at him (80%) or not (20%)#AND NAOTORA his result works for both current arrangements & for the post-Obsidian war plans #bc on one hand they have such limited time to see each other get ready in the mornings rn when they're visiting each other's bands #maybe a few days; a week at most before they have to return to their respective band and won't get to see each other for a while again #but on the other hand once things settle down and they get to move in together... it'll have been smth they both worked SO hard for #smth they're v much deserving of... domesticity at their own pace instead of being rushed by their lives as bushi on a countdown #so Naotora is definitely taking in the sight every time he can. for safekeeping on rainy days and smth to think back on when he feels lost
