rewatching rn and i looooove how subtle the development of hickey and tozer's relationship is. we're almost never shown them having direct deep interactions of any kind until the last few episodes, and yet every little thing shows how much they're coming to rely on one another, especially in episode 7. the implication hickey saw morfin crashing out and woke up tozer to deal with him. the way the next day tozer is with hickey as he recruits hodgson, and it's implied hickey told hodgson about the rescue team, therefore implying tozer told hickey about the rescue team, likely the night before after the incident with morfin. hickey going to tozer when a situation needs handling and tozer confiding in hickey when he doesn't know how to handle a situation. tozer recommending to crozier hickey get given a weapon, and crozier then asking hartnell if tozer was involved in hickey's previous misadventures. it's so cool to see other characters acknowledging changes/truths of their dynamic. and at the mutiny camp they start calling each other by their first names. the development of their intimacy is so understated and minor but so so natural and apparent when you pay attention to the little things. agh. i love this show and the way it develops characters and their relationships
