For the OC feelings meme: Damita about Ephraim Surana, or Ronan or Hela about Solomon Trevelyan. Whatever works, right back at you XD
Thank you for asking!
Okay, so I ended up answering this as if Damita was recruited at the Circle and Hela and Ronan joined the Inquisition at some point and trained as Knight-Enchanters together with Vivienne.
Damita Surana aboutEphraim Surana, undated journal entry, thought to be from 9:30 Dragon, duringthe 5th Blight.
“I worry about Ephraim. There is a darkness to him. He isintelligent, well-learned, but the look he has when we meet anyone with aconnection to the Chantry…I worry what he will do. I do not dare bring up my concerns to Alistair or Leliana, I do not wish them to think poorly of him, and hedoes enough on his own. I have had a word with Morrigan, but she just shruggedit off, said I was worrying over nothing. Perhaps I am. It is quite differentbeing in the wide world. It feels so strange, the same man who reads romanticnovels, also looks with cold disdain at many of our allies. I have had some ofthe most challenging and thought-provoking conversations with him, the extrayears he had at the Circle put to good use. He has been kind to me, I must say…thoughI have to wonder if I was less learned if that would be the case? That we mightbe related…I do not know how that changes things either. He grows bolder, moreassured, each day. I suppose I must simply wait and see what happens…”
Hela Lavellan andRonan Trevelyan, a conversation, as reported to the Spymaster.
“What do you think of the Inquisitor?” Hela asks, cuttingthe apple in her hand, and smirking up at Ronan.
“I respect him, of course. He was always a responsibleteacher, extremely skilled as an enchanter. He taught me a lot about how thingsworked at the Circle, how it was to be a Trevelyan there. I was transferred notlong before the rebellion– they didn’t like having family together–but I wasgrateful for all his council.” Ronan said, leaning back in his chair.
“He is certainly smart. He lectured me more than my hahrenback with the clan. Learned a lot, so far. Deshanna and Fenrir would love him,no doubt, have a big to-do if he visited.” Hela said, swinging her legs as she sat on the table. “But he is mopey.”
“A bit serious, I will grant you. Reserved, yes. But mopeyseems a bit extreme.”
“He needs to learn how to have fun! You can’t be all doomand gloom all the time!”
“It is a serious situation. And being the Inquisitor must bea heavy burden. I don’t even know fully what happened when the Circle atOstwick fell, but nothing I have heard has been good. He has done much formages since he became the Herald and now as Inquisitor.”
“Obviously, Ronan. There is a reason we were both welcomedinto this Inquisition. But I just know Solomon has a sense of humor in theresomewhere, I just have to figure out how to bring it out…maybe Bull and Seracan help…we get some alcohol…” Hela plotted, throwing her apple core behind herback.
Ronan shook his head at her, but did smile. He stood up and heldout his hand, “If you succeed, I look forward to it. Come on now, scheme later, Madame Vivienne will be waiting for us.”
“Fine, bet you 1 gold you end up on your ass.”
“You are on.” Hela smiled and took his hand, jumping up. Sheyelped when her hand connected with his, a spark of electricity sending herhair on end. He just grinned, chuckling, and walked on.
“Oh, you are so going to get it!” She yelled, running afterhim.
Send me an OC and I will tell you how my OC feels about them!

Sun, Moon, and Star OC Meme
Tagged by: @perkeleen-lavellan
Sun
Isaac Hawke
Honestly, this ended up being the only motif left after assigning moon and star to my Inquisitor and Warden, but it fits a cheerful extrovert with red hair. Besides being a musician, I’ve pictured Isaac as someone who gardens--I don’t know if I’ve discussed this headcanon anywhere before or not, but I want to think that he and Merrill actually restore the gardens at the Amell estate--and the idea of sunlight as restorative and nurturing seems relevant for that. There’s also a connection with Varric’s tarot card representation (the Sun), so I think this suits Isaac rather well.
Moon
Solomon Trevelyan
Solomon has the color scheme for this, with albinism making him unusually pale and white-haired, but thinking of the moon as a representation of mystery, cycles, and emotion, I think this fits him as well. He’s a necromancer whose magic taps into life energy itself and deals with spirits that could easily be considered demons, and his life has been marked by phases that ultimately end in a “return”: growing up in the Alienage, being adopted into his father’s family after his mother’s death, being sent to the Circle where he gradually goes from rebellious apprentice with multiple escape attempts to Senior Enchanter and person who keeps the Ostwick branch of the Libertarians afloat after news of Kinloch Hold’s near-downfall causes a decline in membership, the Circle falling just for him to end up as part of the delegation of mages at the Conclave, being Inquisitor, and finally shedding that title by disbanding the Inquisition as well as his “human” name in favor of reclaiming “Sulevin,” his birth name that he had no choice but to give up when recognized by his father, Bann Trevelyan. He’s gradually had to learn to bottle up his emotions and get better at picking his own battles just to survive, but I still picture him as someone who feels a lot, deeply, and this, combined with “dark forces aren’t necessarily evil” and “it’s never too late to reconnect,” make me think a moon motif suits him.
Star
Ephraim Surana
This one came to mind immediately, because I’ve had “Ephraim studied astronomy in the Circle and is fascinated by the stars” as a headcanon for long time. Thinking about stars as crucial to navigation and as ways of understanding the world, considering all of the myths and history associated with constellations both in our world and Thedas, I think this motif suits Ephraim, who I also associate with stories and history. I feel like I’ve talked about the headcanon that he loves romance novels and has written fanfic for his favorite ones a lot, but one I haven’t focused on as much is “he translated and made copies of the Eluvian manuscript that’s crucial to the plot of Witch Hunt, so there’s no stealing of the text from Ariane’s clan by Morrigan, who’d have her own copy that Ephraim shared with her during the Blight.” I want to think there was an entire “ring” of mages dedicated to ensuring access to their people’s knowledge that the Chantry tried to claim and to preserving what they might have brought with them from outside the Circle, like songs, recipes, etc. It’s not an original idea by any means (thank you Kari/October-Rosehip for having things like this in Macsen’a backstory if you see this), but the sheer concept of an “underground elven library in Kinloch Hold” compels me. To bring this back around to stars, thinking of them as omens makes me think of Ephraim as well—he’s my oldest Dragon Age OC and has been through so many changes. I’ll probably mess with his story more if I ever get to replay the series again. But one theme I want to think has been consistent with him, and one I want to keep, is “no matter what one has done, one can always decide and try to be a better person.” When I think of omens, I think of symbols, mysterious and powerful, and I think that suits the Hero of Ferelden.
Tagging: @scribbledquillz @zeesqueere @musingmycelium and anyone who wants to do this and needs an excuse. Let me enable you. There’s no obligation, as always, this was just fun and I thought I’d share

I’ve had this thought for a while but don’t think I’ve shared it before
I think post-Trespasser Solomon (or Sulevin, his birth name that he reclaims) would be far more comfortable with a wooden prosthetic forearm instead of metal. It feels cheesy but I’m imagining some kind of “living” wood complete with moss and flowers. Weirdly, I think his life at that point is the best he’s felt in years (no longer having to deal with being Inquisitor, out of the Circle for good, reconnected to his roots, so in love with Dorian, causing chaos as a Red Jenny, and more certain than ever that life is beautiful and this world is worth living in and determined to prove it) and his choice would reflect just how alive he feels, even if the world is on the verge of another potential apocalypse.

Fresh and important Dragon Age headcanons:
Ephraim and Morrigan have matching black nail polish
Isaac wears pink nail polish partly because it’s his favorite color, partly to go with Merrill’s red nail polish. He probably gets funky with it and wears other, bright colors as well.
Solomon and Dorian also match their nails and eyeliner, or at least try to match the other’s effort and style even if they have to use a much different color palette

mocha i cannot Stop thinking about my favorite Trevelyan of all please tell me how Solomon is doing these days
My heart is full so many emotions that you’re thinking about Solomon. I’ll share some ideas I’ve had but not talked about anywhere:
During In Hushed Whispers, the final person to join the effort to escape/find Leliana is actually Edmund Trevelyan, Solomon’s elder half-brother and current Bann of Ostwick, who even in that dark alternate timeline braved Corypheus’s forces because he hadn’t forgotten what Solomon did for him the last time they saw each other.
They hadn’t seen each other since they were teens—Edmund was 16 and Solomon was 13 when Solomon was taken to the Circle, his backstory becoming a bit more streamlined by having his magic manifest while living in his father’s household. Edmund was actually there when it happened; he’d dared Solomon to go into the Forbidden Basement, the remains of a laboratory/study used by the first Trevelyans, mages with varying degrees of questionable morals in my headcanons (the extremely distant Tevinter upper class connection from Dorian’s remark to Trevelyan does so much heavy-lifting for my thoughts on them as a family with Dark Secrets that Must Be Hidden). Though it hasn’t been used for years, the place isn’t entirely lifeless; there’s still a suit of animated armor patrolling the corridors. When said armor raises its halberd at Edmund, Solomon pushes him out of the way, and in the process casts Drain Life on the armor when attempting to shield himself from it. It’s weakened enough to pause, and Edmund grabs Solomon’s arm and they run back to the upper levels, shutting the door just in time. But now they have to explain why there’s fervent, angry pounding on the other side of the doors and why they’re covered in dust and grime and have been sprinting (either to guards or Bann and Lady Trevelyan, I haven’t really decided). Edmund blurts out that Solomon used magic and that he saved him. His mind is just blown because he’s been primed to despise his younger brother as a potential usurper and “beneath” his notice because of how stubbornly he clings to his Alienage upbringing (getting Solomon to “accept” his new name and how he’s “supposed” to speak and behave and not attempt to run away whenever he can is an immense struggle), but here Solomon has acted against everything Edmund was told to expect he was capable of. He protected him, just because it was the right thing to do. He doesn’t forget that and is actually sad to see him go, even if his mother is relieved that Solomon is permanently disinherited by becoming a Circle mage.
Basically Dorian gets a speed run introduction to Solomon’s family drama and Solomon is deeply affected by his brother’s behavior in the alternate future; Edmund in the present is cold, calling out the claims of his brother being Herald and actually beginning to wonder if Solomon is planning a power grab, but Solomon uses this chance to meet with him again and have conversations about the past they both need to happen. They’re able to reach an understanding, and Edmund ends up an ally once he sees how down-to-Earth Solomon remains.

🖐 from any of your OCs for Ephraim Surana (shapeshifter/blood mage) or Solomon Trevelyan (necromancer) (Feel free to DM me with questions about either!)
Okay, for Ephraim Surana and Damita Surana.
1. Damita Surana likes that she meets a fellow blood mage/someone using blood magic (depending on when they meet - Considering she doesn’t turn to blood magic until after the Blight, during her time in Amaranthine, as a way to further her research into a cure for the taint). She would have so many questions. She was never truly afraid of blood magic, and she would feel a connection with her fellow mage over it. Also, they are both shapeshifters.2. Damita would like that they have similar backgrounds and reactions to templars. They both wanted to leave the Circle, but were inexperienced to the wider world, uncomfortable, at least at first, with the vastness of the world, so much more than books could describe.3. Damita would appreciate that Ephraim is a fellow introvert. Some of her best memories in the Circle were when she just curled up in a corner with a pile of books. She would definitely get his recommendations on what to read. 4. Damita would love how committed he is to his family. She would totally dote on Kieren, if she was allowed to. (Side note: they could commiserate about how neither have strong memories about their families before the circle – I could see it being a very sad and drunken affair, with neither holding their liquor well. They both were taken to the circle when they were 4 years old.)5. Damita would respect him for making the difficult decisions, even if she doesn’t agree with them. 6. Just…disaster bi bonding 7. They would also bond over their love of their mabaris, such an unexpected bond.
For Solomon Trevelyan and Hela Lavellan.
1. Hela would love that Solomon is a giggly drunk and that he has a secret mischievous side. She would definitely try to bring that out as much as possible and convince him to get into shenanigans with her. 2. Hela would respect his bookish nature and would ask him no small number of questions about magic. She would insist on him visiting Clan Lavellan, so that he could talk with her cousin Fenrir, who takes over her role as First. Being older than her, she would naturally defer to him in terms of magical knowledge, probably treating him like a Keeper and calling him Hahren. 3. Would like hanging out with a fellow bi disaster and would definitely try to get him into a “fuck, marry, kill” game, to whatever success you think (maybe get him drunk first). 4. Hela would respect his self-sacrificing nature, even as she would try to show him his life has meaning and value. That he cares so much would endear him to her. Plus, all the things he did to help mages and elves. 5. Hela would like that he drank from the well instead of Morrigan. Hela doesn’t mind humans, but she would be pissed to have such knowledge going to one (she does like Morrigan, but you know, elves have lost a lot because of humans). That Solomon is half-elven would be good enough for her.
Send 🖐 for five reasons why my muse likes yours!
