Can we PLEASE talk about the characterisation of Korvo this season? Because HOLYYY

Heads up, Season 5 spoilers!!

In the “what if?!” episode, Korvo talks about how he believed that he pushed the button, purely because he thinks he doesn’t deserve the life that he has.  Which, oh my god BROKE me. Korvo thought that there was NO WAY that there could be a chance that Terry liked him for real because he didn't see himself as worthy.

He is so hard on himself and it shows that he doesn’t believe that someone can love him, especially the way Terry does. 

One thing of note is that he uses “Super lame and stupid” as words to describe himself in this episode.

Then, looking back on the episode “The educational sprinkler device”, he reveals why he wanted to build the school: it was for the pupa. Not only that, but Korvo recalls his own childhood: describing himself as “stupid and lame” and “who everyone hated”.

He wanted the Pupa to have a better childhood than he had when he was younger. He believed everyone around him hated him, and the low self-esteem this may have caused has been a part of him since then. Korvo doesn’t want the same to happen to pupa.

Not only that, but whatever he experienced in his childhood, he blames himself for it: “It took me years of reading and educating myself to realize what a loser, asshole, shitbag I was.”

Korvo has felt this way about himself since he was younger and he still does (as shown in “what if?!” episode), but now, he slowly learns to accept himself with his family. 

How can this silly show about silly aliens make me feel this way bruuhhhh
