Chintaman Wanjari, district education officer, has confirmed that the tender for this project has already been awarded and that the work will be concluded in a couple of months. TOI had also confirmed this solar power plan in May, last year. As per the IDC (Integrated Digital Classroom) The project, the ZP schools are all set to have the digital classrooms and get solar power for the same. While several NGOs helped many ZP schools with digital classrooms, power supply posed a problem to be solved. Power minister, also Nagpur’s Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule along with district collectorate and ZP have now firmed up plans to make schools ‘power independent’. The future of the renewable energy sector is shining bright in Nagpur.
