Hello! I hope you’re doing well! This is for your redacted match-up game since I thought it looked fun to do :)

(I also wanted to mention that it’s really fun seeing what songs you pick for the match-ups and has introduced me to some new favorites)(No pressure to do this quickly ofc <3)

What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why? A totally basic song, but I’ve resparked my obsession with Taylor Swift’s song “Wildest Dreams”. I love the lyrics “Staring at the sunset, babe / Red lips and rosy cheeks / Say you'll see me again / Even if it's just in your wildest dreams”. The whole song is very, like, yearning and honestly does remind me of a vibrant sunset just before it softens into a pink and yellow glow. And I like the “wildest dreams” lyric because I daydream a lot. Not to mention, I enjoy the music video for it.

What is your Enneagram type? Type 9w1

Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why? I like watching long videos in general. Sometimes it’s just gameplay, sometimes it’s social commentary, sometimes it’s ghost hunting videos, sometimes it’s something that randomly popped up in my for you page and looked interesting. The most recent one I watched was “Exploring the Secret Lesbian World of Interwar Paris” by Kaz Rowe.

Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend. I didn’t really have one, but I pretended to have an imaginary “boyfriend”. People at my elementary school were obsessed with dating for some reason even though we were, like, 8 and so that’s the main reason why I said it was a bf. (It’s also funny bcuz now I’m listening to imaginary boyfriends).

What is your go-to way to fall asleep? If I’m too awake from an exciting/busy day I’ll watch youtube videos to calm down. I sleep with my childhood stuffed animal. I feel bad if I don’t and hugging it makes me feel better. I also usually sleep with a night light because I hate not being able to see things if I wake up in the middle of the night. 

If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why? (In tandem, if you have changed your name, why did you pick that one?) Well, I like the name “Meri”. But if I actually had to change my name, I’d probably just switch my middle name and first name with each other, since I like them well enough.

What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why? I really like David’s “Watching a Scary Movie With Your Alpha Werewolf” audio. I love his laughs so much (I could  s q u e a l  into a pillow)! It’s also really calming in the sense that it’s relaxing in a fun way (just chilling and watching a movie), so I go back to it a lot.

What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.) Ollie. He’s really sweet and I don’t hate him at all, but I can only watch two of his audios in a row before wanting to change to something else. 

Tell me about that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to. Oh! I have one for each of these: If it’s a book, then “The Princess and the Fangirl” by Ashley Poston. If it’s a TV show, then “Gravity Falls” (I watch it as a summer solstice tradition). And if it’s a movie, then “Miss Congeniality (2000)” (I love those 90s/2000s romance and comedy movies). 

Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to? Like- forget dating, which dude do you want to be your best friend? I totally get the romantic appeal of Sam, but I would like him as a friend because he’s very down-to-earth, caring and I like his vibes. (I'd also include Caelum, I DON'T want to date him at all, but he's a cute little guy that makes me smile a lot).

Do you have a go-to thing you ramble about when you’re tired, and if so, what is it? (For example, my boyfriend knows I’m ready to sleep when I start talking about space.) I don’t think I ramble about anything. I’m pretty quiet when I’m tired. Although, sometimes I do get “slap happy” and find a lot of things hilarious before I eventually get to the exhausted point of ‘no-talking’.

Tell me your go-to gas station and drink combo. KitKats and Coca-Cola (slushie or the actual drink)!!

Tell me about your favorite playlist at the moment. One of my private playlists that’s a mix of 2010s EDM and pop, 90s and 2000s rock, alternative music and country songs.

What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why? Listening to Redacted Audio is the biggest, and also reading/writing fanfiction. It’s embarrassing to talk to any of my IRL friends or family about it even though I’m fully supportive and excited about discussing all of those things, it's just the weird reputation it carries.

And whatever else you think tells me about who you are! I’m introverted. I have two cats! (I didn't realize how many cat lovers were in this fandom). I believe that I’m biromantic and demisexual. Some things I like to do are: write, read, go camping with friends (I love hanging out, playing card games, swimming and eating campfire food), doing karaoke, and playing dress up in costumes/outfits I’ve collected over the years. Sometimes I’ll draw or paint but not as often. I often have dance parties or a good cry to de-stress (which are like two different vibes XD but it works). The video games I like to play are Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and The Sims. I like to take quizzes. I used to take Buzzfeed and Quotev quizzes a lot when I was younger, but now I mostly go on uquiz. (I like pressing buttons).

I also really like paleontology. I can watch ghost hunting videos (as stated before) BUT I cannot do horror movies. I’m assuming it’s because I get too involved with the movie, and ghost hunting does not have as high of stakes. I guess I would describe myself as someone that is pretty quiet until you get to know me. I tend to be very watchful and cautious when I’m out in public with friends or family (which probably comes from my ‘older sibling need’ to make sure that the younger ones don’t get kidnapped or hurt). I count myself as an early bird, since I wake up around 6-7am most days. My style is pretty casual, maybe sometimes dark academia inspired if I’m feeling stylish. And my main love languages are quality time and words of affirmation. (I hope all of that helps!)

Your entry gave me so much trouble in the most delightful way. You paint me a picture of someone so easy to get along with that it was hard for me to pick one redacted suitor over the other. In the end, looking at the charming ways you’d contrast one another, I like Asher for you best.

You’re a cat person; he’s a literal dog person. You’re an introvert; he’s an extrovert. You’re an older sibling, he’s a younger sibling. You’re a morning person; he’s sleeping in till noon if you let him. You’re a cozy gamer; he’s an FPS, COD kind of guy. Yet, you two get along so well. Type Nines are characterized by a desire for peace and quiet, typical of an older sibling, and Asher as the emotionally intelligent beta of the Shaw Pack would be able to provide that. One thing that particularly convinced me was your love languages in that Asher strikes me as one of the most verbally affectionate and forthcoming of the redacted men and would be best suited for your love of words of affirmation.

That’s not to say he doesn’t indulge your need for quality time either; he’s perfect for that. Asher loves your cats, and they love him (once they get used to his shifted form). He orders pizza and wings for your romcom movie nights, most of which he hasn’t seen yet but is super happy to watch them for the first time with you. He’s always down for a good karaoke sess, whether you asked for one or not. He picks up and gets good at Stardew Valley immediately, especially when he finds out y’all can work on the same farm and that he can craft you a wedding ring. (That is, when he’s not trying to get himself an NPC husband. He is down bad for all those men, but he has a soft spot for Shane, can’t tell you why.)

If you love 90’s/00’s rock and alternative, and I’ve given you Asher, could I give you anything other than a Fall Out Boy song? Obviously not, especially this era and track of Fall Out Boy. There’s something about their older songs that capture young, first love in the best, most singable way. Also, the title is a reference to the romance classic movie, Casablanca, and that coincidence really cinched my choice.

Runner-ups:

Huxley would be a gorgeous partner and runner-up for an early bird who loves camping. He’s also one of my favorite picks for someone on the ace spectrum; he just gives that vibe. (I’m also an asexual who loves Huxley, so that may be my bias coming through.) David is also a runner-up, one who almost beat out Asher except for the fact Asher would be more outwardly affectionate off the bat and would like your cats more.

OC Muse: Eswynn (Wynna) Heios Nabradia

[Bio and other information below the cut!]

Type of Character & Fandom/Source Material: OC character in the Final Fantasy XII world.

Gender: Female

Age: Prologue (~22); Main game (~24); Epilogue (~25+), but her age will be somewhat verse dependent as well

Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Biromantic/bisexual (Wynna didn't realize she was bisexual until, at sixteen, she very innocently kissed one of the young maids around her age. It was reported to her father and she was reprimanded severely and told never to do anything like that again. She was so mortified that it caused her to withdraw that part of herself and never mention it again.)

Occupation: Princess, consort, or sky pirate (verse-dependent)

Family: Mother and father (the King and Queen Consort of Nabradia, deceased in most verses); step mother (deceased); three older half-brothers (deceased); younger brother Rasler (deceased in most verses)

Positive Personality Traits: She's sweet, kind, empathetic, and a good listener. After she's able to leave Nabradia, other traits such as bravery and cleverness emerge.

Negative Personality Traits: She's very naive, sheltered, gullible, and can be somewhat ignorant, at least until she can break out of her isolated and controlled lifestyle. She's very protective of her littlest brother, even after his death, and may snap at anyone who speaks ill of him.

Background: Eswynn "Wynna" Heios Nabradia is the fourth of five children of the King of Nabradia, and the eldest child born to him by her mother. The King had a Queen Consort previously who died in childbirth after their third son. Wynna's mother, the new Queen Consort, lived long enough to have her and Rasler, but was not able to conceive any more children after him. Because they shared a mother and were full siblings instead of only half, Wynna was protective of her little brother, even as they grew older and drifted apart.

The king saw Wynna as a disappointment right from the start, simply because she was female. Because of this, her relationship with her father has always oscillated between contentious and non-existent. Nabradia, even more so than Dalmasca, is strictly patriarchal. There are only kings, and women are not permitted the same rights and freedoms as men. Sons could represent their country on the battlefront and fight to protect Nabradia's borders. They could carry on the family name and become king someday. Daughters... were somewhat useless, except to be married off. Such was the mindset of the King of Nabradia, and so he kept Wynna isolated, like a secret he didn't want to get out.

Although the king's first wife was of Dynast blood, Wynna's and Rasler's mother was not. This was something their father was not happy about, but choices for noble marriages were beginning to dwindle for both Nabradia and Dalmasca by the time his first wife died. It was a further reason for the king to distance himself from Wynna, for her coloration was not quite as "noble" as her older brothers' was. Even Rasler, despite having the same mother as her, had perfect Dynast coloration, while Wynna's eyebrows and eyes were a bit too dark. The king saw these as defects and that, combined with her being female, was just one more reason why she was a massive disappointment to him.

Whereas Rasler was taught geography, science, mathematics, literature, politics, and history, Wynna was taught singing, poetry, sewing, painting, and the harp. Contrasted with Ashelia's situation in Dalmasca, where the culture was very similar but King Raminas did not care to enforce it on Ashe until the year before her wedding, Wynna was controlled in much stricter ways from the time she was a young child. She would not have even known how to read if some of the servants had not taken pity on her and taught her how in the early morning hours before sunrise. Nor would she have learned anything about cooking if the head matron hadn't taught her things under the guise of it being merely a whimsical pastime.

House Nabradia also differed in the intensity of their religion. Although House Dalmasca was proud of its Dynast heritage, Nabradia was even more so, and made it a point to pray to the Occuria almost daily. It was part of Wynna's routine to give them thanks and reverence, for there was strength and magic in her veins that had been granted by them, and therefore they deserved her respect.

Wynna grew up believing that the Archadian Empire was evil, that there was no greater enemy in all of Ivalice than they. They were the darkness, the cruelty, the death, and the suffering of all the war her kingdom had endured. All of her brothers were lost to the Empire's fury. Needless to say her hatred for them, and also fear, was nearly boundless.

As little more than a political pawn, Wynna was arranged to Al-Cid of the Rozarrian Empire when her father made the decision to ally Nabradia with Rozarria. Al-Cid was not directly in line for the throne, but he was still a prince of his Empire, and so Wynna's father saw it as just about the best match he could make for his aging daughter (at 22, she was considered quite old for marriage, with the age of adulthood in both Dalmasca and Nabradia being 16). He would have preferred to marry her to someone of Dynast blood, but all of the Dalmascan princes were already dead by the time of the prologue of the game.

The sad thing is that Wynna probably would have had a very good life with Al-Cid, had she actually made it to Rozarria to marry him. He would have treated her very kindly and respectfully, and in Rozarria, she would have had access to education and all manner of learning and vocational opportunities. Unfortunately, Nabradia was viciously invaded by Archadia once word of both Wynna's and Rasler's wedding plans reached them. Once the invasion had reached Wynna's home of Nabudis, the capital city of Nabradia, she was whisked away via airship to keep her safe. She was supposed to be bound for Rozarria, but her ship was damaged and forced to make an emergency landing elsewhere. She has not been seen since, and is presumed lost.

As the events of the game were unfolding, Al-Cid did spend some time searching for Wynna, but was unable to find her. He eventually accepted that she was likely killed in an airship crash as she attempted to flee Nabudis.

Potential Starter Ideas:

Wynna is a very flexible muse because she could end up just about anywhere in Ivalice depending on who she is arranged to and/or where her escape airship crashes after the fall of Nabudis. So if you have a muse you'd like her to meet who lives in or frequents a certain location, I'm sure we can work something out, heh.

Before the fall of her House, her home city, and her kingdom, Wynna could be located in Nabradia, Dalmasca, Archadia, or even Rozarria, depending on who she's arranged to in marriage.

After the fall of Nabudis, she frequents Balfonheim as a place to flee to and fall into anonymity, but she could be found in any part of Ivalice because she aids sky pirates in their adventures/travels.

Her work with the Resistance in some verses could keep her in other cities in Nabradia or in Rabanastre in Dalmasca, but she could also end up in Archades/Old Archades in extreme circumstances.

Like I said, she's very versatile and flexible, so feel free to pitch wacky ideas to me as to how our muses could meet! =)

Fun facts:

Because of her Dynast blood, Wynna is incapable of being hurt by the sun. She can look directly at it without damaging her eyes, her pale skin doesn't burn or blister if she's outdoors for long periods, and she naturally fares well in very hot temperatures.

Like Ashelia, Wynna is very enamored of the tiny lizards that roam the desert biome in which Nabradia and Dalmasca are located. So much so that, unlike Ashe, she refuses to eat them because she considers them too cute.

Like many Nabradians and Dalmascans, Wynna loves the sun, the sand, and the heat of her homeland. In contrast to Ashelia, however, she has visited the oceans that surround their kingdoms. Although she has never actually traveled on a ship (one of the sea, that is, she's been on plenty of airships), she has seen ships, the beach, the ocean, and some of the creatures that live in and around the water.

Wynna has only actually met Al-Cid once in her life, when she was sixteen and their arrangement became official. She found him to be attractive and very intense... in a good way.

As someone of Dynast blood, Wynna is magically gifted. She can perform some healing magicks, but she mostly likes to make potions to cure ailments or to augment one's abilities, such as making one faster, stronger, etc.

Wynna can be feisty and stubborn, but only around those she trusts. She's had to adhere to her father's rules and her restrictive culture all her life, and that has left her outwardly and publicly quiet, proper, and demure. But as soon as everyone else has left the room, the playfulness, stubbornness, and desire to talk back to those who may have just left said room emerges. She has amused many a maid by rolling her eyes or commenting on things after the fact once others have left the room. It is her own small form of rebellion, one of the few she has been able to manage to keep herself sane within the confines of her rigid life.

Mario Characters Headcanons (Wreck-it Ralph verse)

(To clarify, these headcanons focus mostly on one main version of the characters. As I've stated before, these video game characters exist amongst multiple versions of themselves, basically like multiple actors playing the same character. Subject to updates.)

Waluigi

Waluigi is much nicer outside of gameplay, but socially awkward and insecure. His interactions with others are so limited that he really doesn't know what healthy relationships are supposed to be like.

While he has a good professional relationship with the Wario from his game, he doesn't hang out with him much outside of work, because they don't have much in common.

Waluigi is a surprisingly good singer, despite his high-pitched, nasal voice.

He initially retains his crush on Princess Daisy, attracted to only her looks and in love with the idea of being in a relationship. To cope with the reality that he will never have a chance with her, he would sing songs like "It's Over, Isn't It?" and "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?". But eventually, Waluigi learns to accept that Daisy will never go out with him and move on.

As he develops his identity, he discovers he has a feminine side. He envied his female coworkers for being able to wear such nice dresses, until he realized that he too is allowed to wear dresses. As a result, he starts wearing them regularly outside of work.

Waluigi tends to favor pop music and love songs.

Yes, he is known for being one of the tallest characters in the Mario franchise, but he's most likely between 5'4" and 6'2" when standing straight.

Waluigi compensates for his lack of social skills by showing off when he performs, whether that be sports, singing, dancing, etc. (adopted from @numerowah)

Wario

Wario is more sociable and hygienic outside of gameplay. Though he doesn't particularly enjoy the rituals involved in maintaining his personal hygiene, he does not want other people to constantly shame him about his personal hygiene or, worse, avoid him like the plague.

He does, however, retain his confidence, crude humor, and love of garlic.

If Wario had to change clothes for any reason, he would not feel the need to go somewhere private to do it, even if it means briefly exposing his underwear to other people.

He is decent at singing, but doesn't do it as much as Waluigi does.

Wario is both aromantic and asexual. Sure, he might have some admirers, but he wouldn't be interested in them romantically or sexually.

So, OFMD is my all time favorite show and I am in love with every single character and have been wanting to try and join the fandom as Stede Bonnet, but I am SO nervous. Only because you, and several others, are just so incredible and I am intimidated but ahhh, I want to do badly write as my pirate princess. Any advice? Or just go for it? I’ve been writing for years, but graphics/theme making are not my forte.

Hey, friend!! Thanks for the kind words!!

I would just GO for it, with the understanding that there's a learning curve to the "rp etiquette" of Tumblr (and some users, as is the way with social media, will be more forgiving and flexible with "mistakes" than others). I would introduce yourself, as you have done here, to people who seem fun and chill, and express your interest in interacting with them IC. 1) Tell them you would be writing Stede. 2) Read their rules page (usually there is a pinned post at the top of a writer's blog offering a mobile-friendly link to their rules, which is basically how they prefer to interact with other writers, how often, in what format, what the writer's or "mun's" triggers are, etc) and tell them that you have: this seems to be a real sign of good faith around here. 3) Collect a small list of people (maybe 4 or 5) to start with, and follow them. If your rp blog is a "sideblog" to a main account, also let them know that, so that when a non-rp blog (you) follows them, they know who the heck it is! I cannot underscore enough how important it is to find people with whom you jive ooc, as yourselves. It simply will not be fun if you don't. So take your time with this part! 4) Make your blog. Customize your theme as much or little as you like, but a good rule of thumb is to at least make an "About the Muse" page (muse's story), a "Rules" (do's and don't's of interacting with you) page, and a "Verses" (discrete story timelines, usually grouped by how much you adhere to canon or by romantic "ships") page. Your muse is a "canon" muse: that is, a muse that already exists in the official fandom universe. 5) If you don't have it already, GET XKIT REWRITTEN (a browser extension that lets you alter Tumblr's increasingly perplexing and user-unfriendly interface, lol. There are versions for both Chrome and Firefox. 6) Start writing. You rp on Tumblr by reblogging a person's IC (in-character) post to your blog, and adding a text reply. They then reblog you. And so on and so forth. Here is where you consult their rules page to know things like: are they okay if I trim posts? Are they okay with me dm'ing them to ask for replies? What's the most courteous way to use tags in order to easily find past writing or filter my blog? How explicit can writing with this partner get re violence or s*xual themes? Etc. Everyone is different.

Re making your blog fancy: You do NOT need to be well-versed in Photoshop, themes and coding in order to run a blog. A lot of people now rp on Tumblr Mobile, where theme graphics don't show up anyway. Those who still use graphics vary, but most of us really don't care if our writing partners use them as long as we can continue to do so.

However, if you're still anxious, I've got a couple graphics and rpg sources right off the bat that can help you tremendously:

I saw Wish! It was cute, and overall I think it was okay. It had some lovely callbacks, and was entirely original in its main plot, which is nice.

A lot of the issues people theorized it would have (pop-y songs, overdose on adorkability*, generic culture for the characters and outfits, imperfect casting in relation to character’s ethnicities, commercialization upon modern social justice interests such as reformation, and inability to commit to darkness) were there.

*man I usually love talking animals but like. Sidekicks are supposed to be comic relief and support, not distractions. Valentino wasn’t that bad, but still. Then again, I’m not the target audience. I do love that he was a baby goat. (As someone who has helped baby goats, unless they’re cold, they HATE clothes. When they’re cold, then they can just fall asleep in them, it’s very cute.)

But there were good points too (nods to Disney history without distracting the narrative, no romantic storyline* a genuine villain with a in-story further descent, desperate **betrayal spurred on by the societal structure the villain/government sought to preserve, themes of a right to self-determination and liberty vs. ‘protection’, how privilege warps you and makes you defensive, different body types and abilities, lovely animation, and so on).

*for the record, I love romance, and I know the last couple DP movies had no romances either. But idk how you could watch Raya and the Last Dragon and not even THINK about Rayaari lol.

To comment specifically on Asha: her character creation definitely fell into the adorkability trap. But she’s very sweet, loving and capable, and I really enjoyed her relationship with her family. Making her a fairy (?) godmother at the end totally fit with her story. And her actress, Ariana DeBose, has a fantastic voice, and I can tell she totally gave it her all.

I’m glad her Mom isn’t dead (classic female protagonist issue) but I do have reservations that both Black princesses have dead Dads. I’m by no means the most qualified to speak on that, but I do know that it’s an issue often raised by Black fans on Black character’s backstories.

I do really, really love that Asha is mixed though. I know there’s a lot of issues of colorism* in Hollywood, both in live action and animated productions, but as a sister to a mixed Black boy, I know how much characters like Asha would have meant to my brother as a kid.

*interestingly enough, the movie didn’t fall into the trap of the lady half of the pairing being light than her male partner. Asha’s paternal family is white, and her Mom is Black.

My brother was never into Disney Princesses, but when Miles Morales (from Spider-verse) came out in 2018, right before my brother turned 13, and I think that was the first time he really connected to another kid character on screen. Miles is arguably mixed, often feels like a fish out of water, and grew up too damn fast, both physically* and emotionally. And I know that there has to be a bunch of little kids (and adults too!) who see Asha and feel seen. And I’m so glad for them.

*my brother was always tall, but he hit 6 feet by age 14, is 6’6 (183cm) now, and may still be growing, much to his chagrin.

Wish is not the magnum opus of Disney. Out of the two animated theatrical films Disney put out this year, I think Elemental is the better of the two*. But by no means do I think it’s terrible. It was genuinely fine.

Interestingly enough though, I do believe it to be an incredibly accurate representation of Disney’s modern output and behavior. Perhaps in that sense, it is a triumph.

*though I’m severely biased. I saw that movie 6 times in theatres and coincidentally rewatched it today. I cried each time.

Also for the record, I nearly finished* painting an Asha doll before I saw the movie today. I felt very pleased with myself. Here she is next to a Kida doll that I finished today.**

Kida has an Aurora head (hence the unfortunately small nose) and a Moana body, while Asha has a Moana head (hair texture roughly matched) and a Elsa body (white and purple outfit from the sequel). It was well known among members of the elite and noble that certain seasons of the year called for social events— grand balls, elaborate dinners, all under the guise of charity and award ceremonies. Yet the largest reason— the true reason— such events were held was not so noble or selfless a thing. Indeed, to those who attended such events frequently, it was all too clear that the main purpose of such lavish get-togethers was a matter of forming connections. Seeing, and being seen. Creating deals, discussing trade, and perhaps even mending a soured partnership or two.

At any rate, this was certainly why Princess Zelda was in attendance that evening, placed squarely between Lord Gerring and Lord Hadek, politely mediating their conversation over wine and plump pig served with all manner of delicacies.

She had noticed, of course, the young woman who had schemed her way to the seat across from her (a chair originally meant for a young Duchess, according to the seating chart that Zelda has meticulously reviewed.) At first, Zelda had assumed she was trying to edge into the eyesight of one of the Lords, but when they at last left each other in peace and began conversing with other members of the table, it was not their attention she sought, but hers.

They made pleasant enough conversation— how was traveling in Amestris, have you seen such and such sight— the usual. But there was a hunger in the woman’s eyes that had Zelda cautious.

{out of dalmasca} I think it is worth mentioning, since this is something else I've been asked, if Basch becomes romantically involved with someone in his MCU verse (@starcchild or @illbringthechaosmagic or Thor-anon for example) and then Ashelia is also found and revived from a similar magical mishap Basch suffered, he is not going to suddenly dump his ship, heh. To be clear, even though I ship Basch and Ashe and if material from Fortress is included then his feelings for her are canon, Ashelia in canon did not feel the same way about Basch. I write her as having those feelings develop through the course of the events of the main game, but if I were to bring her into a thread where Basch is already shipped with another, I would use canon Ashe. So she would love Basch, but as a friend/mentor and brother/uncle sort of way only.

As far as MCU-Basch is concerned, he never had any intention of ever telling Ashelia how he felt. He viewed his feelings as wrong because he was so much older than her, because his blood is so much more common than hers, and because she never seemed to feel anything romantic for him. So it would have remained just a crush and silent pining. Once he is in a real relationship with someone, he realizes the difference between this love and the sort of idealized, from-a-distance way he loved Ashelia.

Basch would never break things off with a serious girlfriend in favor of Ashelia simply because... she was suddenly there, heh. Once he is in a committed relationship with someone, that's a promise, that's a vow. They may not be married, but Basch takes this commitment very seriously and he will not be unfaithful or discard someone to chase someone else, especially since he knows he can never be with that someone else. But in all honesty, even if Ashelia suddenly did want to be with Basch, he would turn her down, because again, he is already in love with and committed to someone else.

What he will want to do is support Ashelia, comfort her, and help her to adjust to this new world she's in. She's going to go through the same grieving process he did and be very anxious and stressed out just like he was, and so he'd want to help her through all of that. Because they are from the same world/time, lived in the same country, and have a long shared history together, they understandably would stick together a lot. No one else is going to understand their perspectives the way they can for each other.

But Basch would definitely set boundaries so his girlfriend doesn't feel usurped or left out in any way. And really, there were already some pretty strict social boundaries between Basch and Ashelia to begin with, just because of the nature of her being his princess and him serving her father and then her. Some of that would have been relaxed a bit as they adventured with friends just before they were frozen, but while living in the Avengers compound they would likely fall back into much the same dynamic they had before.

Things would still be awkward for the ship, I imagine, especially if Basch has told her about Ashelia or even how he felt for her. If the ship automatically thought Basch would leave them for Ashe or otherwise became upset by her presence, he would be all over that like white on rice to reassure them that he's not going anywhere.

Appearance

Hair: Mid/Low back length black hair, she usually styles it in a bun at the base of her neck with two long strands in front of her ears secured by a headband. Sometimes she will braid the bun. Eyes: Reddish-Brown, depending on the light they will look almost scarlet Complexion: Fair, tans easily. Has several scars from her years as an assassin (including a long one between her breasts, several knicks on her wrists, and a gunshot scar on her buttocks), and her hands are very calloused from her stilettos and the typewriter she uses at her day job.

Her Story

Yolanda was born in East Nielsburg and is the eldest of the Briar siblings. She has one younger brother, Yuri, who has always called her Yor, and the nickname stuck. She doesn’t go by her birth name, especially after her parents died. Yor was eight when she became an orphan and the sole caregiver for her brother. She struggled to provide for him for several years, mainly hunting and foraging in the woods surrounding their home. When she turned ten, the foraging and hunting weren’t enough anymore as Yuri needed to attend school. In her desperate search for a job, she caught Garden’s attention and naively accepted the position. Under the instruction of the man known only as Shopkeeper and Matthew McMahon, she grew from a timid Rose Bud into the formidable and deadly Thorn Princess. After her brother graduated from school, the two siblings moved to Berlint when Yuri accepted a job in Ostania’s Foreign Affairs Department. Yor was given a job at the local city hall as a clerk as a cover for her assassin job. A few months into this arrangement, Yuri found an apartment of his own and moved out. After a year of living alone, she ran into Loid and Anya Forger at Monicca and Mona’s Tailor shop…and nothing was the same again.

Personality

Due to the circumstances of her childhood, Yor lacks most social skills. She will initially come off as aloof, almost robotic in her day-to-day communications with coworkers and strangers, only speaking when spoken to. Conversely, she keeps her head in dangerous situations and is very polite in the midst of an assassination. Yor has a strong Maternal/Big Sister instinct and is very protective of those whom she cares about (namely Yuri and Anya, though Loid fits in there somewhere). Her thought process does have a tendency to dive into murder and violence, but on the other hand, she is quite gullible, almost naive. Lastly, she is quite insecure, especially about most of her “normal” abilities - be that interacting normally with others, cooking, being a good mother, etc. While she is confident enough in her fighting prowess, her insane strength does mean she needs to restrain herself at all times (outside of assassination, of course).

Abilities

Strength: Yor has almost superhuman strength. Some of this has to do with how active she is, but most of it is natural to her. She’s always been stronger than her peers, even taking down a wild hog when she was 8 with her bare hands and fighting a bear in her teens. Speed and Stamina: She is pretty fast and agile, able to complete several feats of gymnastics and run for several miles without getting tired. Durability: Yor is able to take and deal dozens of hits before beginning to “feel it.” She is also immune to most poisons. Cleaning: Yor is “Incredibly neat” and is able to deep clean any space, removing everything from the mildest food stains to bodily fluids. This is the one ability she refers to as "normal." Intelligence and Intuition: While not nearly as bright as her husband, Yor is very knowledgeable regarding the human body and is able to read the room depending on the situation. She's fairly good at helping defuse situations unless her brother or alcohol are involved. She can immediately tell if someone is looking at her. Weaknesses: Alcohol, Cooking, Lying

By night the downstairs was the place to be. A place where robes and masked were encouraged to be left at home. Drinks and dancing where everywhere for those that wished to enjoy their vices. It was also one way for one to enter into Amaurote's fashion underground.

The Source

Azalea Baelsar also called the Bastard Princess in Garlemald. Born of an affair between the late emperor and his nurse Symphony. Her mother was a veria and she too is a veria and yet she looks incredible like Solus. She grew up in the palace and was well cared for by her mother and father. Despite the nobles bickering none were stupid enough to try and kill her and her mother. Or perhaps they had just decided to wait for her elderly father to kick the bucket.

Yet, before he could do that he told her mother to take her and run. Azalea's mother did just that taking herself and her daughter to Gridania. There her mother would take up conjuring and then be swept up into the role of Warrior of Light with an eleven year old in tow.
