I swear to god, the finale made me love Tissues so so much.
Like, I didn’t really care for him before, I didnt really like that he’s just “the sick guy” and that’s all he had going for him, but I actually kinda like what they did with his character-
When he was first introduced he was boring as hell, was only there for like an episode and he didn’t really do anything. It’s pretty clear that the other characters find him weird or gross since he’s sick all the time, and I really thought that was gonna be his whole thing, but the fact that they gave him self awareness is just wonderful-
Like, he KNOWS the other characters don’t like him and there’s nothing he can do about it. His constant sickness makes the other characters uncomfortable even though it’s something he can’t change about himself. He was created to just be a joke to everyone, a poor, unfunny joke.
But in the finale the others reassure him. They don’t act as weirded out around him as before. The fact that SOAP of all people is the one to help him just means so much to me. Like, she is THE germaphobe, she will do anything in the world to avoid sickness and germs, but when she sees Tissues struggling she holds his hand through it anyways, because she cares about HIM. He’s not just a joke, he’s not just “the sick guy” anymore, he’s Tissues. Hes not defined by his disability, even if it is a part of his character. He’s a person, a real person with real personality and I think it’s so sweet how he’s changed throughout season 2. Maybe its just cause I’m neurodivergent and he reminds me of myself, but he’s genuinely one of my favorites now.
By the way you guys should start shipping Tissues x Soap, OKAY BYE!
